Location was great because we were attending a play and was able to walk to the theater. We did not do breakfast at the Hotel. The attendance behind desk did advise not to use the walkways at night because sometimes homeless people like to stay warm in there. It was a nice night so walking outside was fine.

The only problem I had was probably my fault. I booked thru Booking.com. When I checked out and paid I told the desk clerk that I didn't need a receipt. I was quoted $169.00 through Booking.com. My charge card statement showed a charge of $311.00. I think this happened as I used a different Credit Card to check out. Totally my fault. However I worked with an employee in the billing and he got it all straightened out. As I said probably my fault but maybe have front desk suggest guest to use the same charge card in instances like.

The room was great, the bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on and the pillows were perfect too. Was within walking distance to the places we wanted to go. The toiletries smelled great and didn't dry out our hair or skin. The speakeasy was a great surprise.

Booking.com said our room would be $151 but it wasn't, it was $190. We would not have booked for that price. The host couldn't find our reservation at first and then when he finally did his demeanor changed. He became short with us. There was a wedding there so we couldn't really enjoy our time at the bar, the wedding guests were already drunk and being very loud we had 1 drink and left. The shower was odd, you had to get all the way in and be standing in the stream to turn it on. The coffee maker in our room didn't work.

Employee TANEESHA M., was wonderful! She made us feel very welcome and stayed in touch to make certain we were having a fantastic stay. Taneesha helped my boyfriend Kevin with havIng a beautiful bouquet of red roses, a bottle of champagne, and candy awaiting us in our room when we checked in! The hotel is very fortunate to have such a dedicated employee!

No microwave in the room. Too few toiletries - bottles were tiny and only one of each even though there were two of us in the room!

The lobby of the hotel is really large, modern and very swish - an impressive start! The corridors are nicely decorated with a very noticeable plush carpet, and our room was superb and was very large, airy and bright with 2 huge comfy beds and was very quiet with really nice decor. And the bathroom was simply vast! The room had all the usual facilities although a room safe would have been useful. The staff were all very polite and efficient. The location was great with not too long a walk to the downtown, some good restaurants or the pleasant sculpture park. In all our price for this was very good value for money for the quality and location of the place (just don't fall for the expensive extras!).

Breakfast isn't included and is a pay breakfast in a lobby area restaurant which seemed very nice but was not great value so we had it elsewhere. As many note on here don't fall for the expensive valet service parking when a stone's throw from the hotel is a huge multistorey car park for $10 per 24 hours. Also, street side parking on the meters is pretty good value and is free all through the night to 9am. Many hotels offer a free water bottles in the room but this one didn't which was a surprise - but it had one bottle in the room for sale at a rather inflated $7. However there were vending machines in the lobby which included bottled water for much less money!

The hotel is a beautiful historical building. It hold so much history. It’s located in a clean and safe area. Hotel smelled great and it was very clean the lobby, hallways and room. They have two restaurants on site. We only tried the one for breakfast, we enjoyed our breakfast. We also tried the speakeasy, which was very cool. We found street parking since when we returned it was night time and the meters are free from 9pm-9am. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The AC seemed to not really get cool at times.

Staff was very helpful and responsive.Liked ability to text message hotel staff. Large room and bathroom. Hobknob restaurant had outstanding Coffee and pastries and burgers. They also served cocktails which surprised me but was nice since their main restaurant wasn’t open most of the time.

Lack of color in room. Proudbird restaurant wasn’t open for lunch and had inconvenient hours. No way to directly reach housekeeping. No information on speakeasy bar or its location in hotel that sounded like fun.

Extremely nice hotel and in addition an architectural jewel. Can only recommend this for a stay. Very friendly, professional staff.

The only drawback to the location are noisy motorcyclsts at night who appear to be going in circles up and down the streets around the hotel. This devalues all the good work that was put in to restore this fabulous hotel and that the staff in this hotel is doing - other cities would set and enforce max decibel levels, which I am sure would also benefit people living n the area....

Delicious restaurant, Proudfoot Safe and walkable neighborhood - walkable to Saturday farmers market Driving around to destinations near and far is really easy Cheap hourly or free (on nights/weekends) parking on the street Staff is friendly and responsive, other guests are friendly and courteous Quiet hallways Good blackout curtains

Refill for purified water requires going to the basement gym - but I guess you could drink from the tap or buy bottled.

Absolutely loved this place. Start to finish, just genuinely fun to explore. The bedrooms were very spacious with large bathrooms. The hotel still boasted original treasures from the past like their ornate elevators and periodic lighting pieces. The sights, the smells, the whole feel just transported you back in time. The cafe was equally enchanting. Beautiful design. Lots of healthy choices and super fresh produce.

Wouldn’t change a thing.

Lovely renovation of an old building, loved the charming old lifts, the rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The decor in the common areas was lovely too.

There was room tidying by the staff, but they apparently forgot to clean the in-room coffee station. No refill of coffee, and used mugs remained, so we had no coffee on our second morning. Not a big deal at all, just strange.
