food excellent, workers very friendly and made great oatmeal and eggs. Everyone seemed to enjoy their breakfast even though quite busy there.

first night couldn't get my air conditioner to work under 78-80 degrees. called front desk to notify and she seemed non plussed. After some discussion, said " Well I guess I can tell my maintenance person about it but I doubt Ill get a response" The next day, no one offered to help look in to the heat of the room. I stayed most of the next night there with a friend and I couldn't face another night feeling like it was over 80 degrees that was registered in the room thermostat. The next afternoon the wifi was out, I was told " due to a storm overhead and will be out for several hours most likely" Person sounded bored and put out that I would even call about the outage and made to feel like I was an idiot not to know that if there is rain, that the wifi would be out.

The staff was professional and very helpful, also very pleasant. Especially Safaria our Concierge who checked us in went above and beyond service. Our room wasn't ready when we got there she let us have cold bottled water, took care of us until our room was ready we didn't get into our room until 4:20pm. Our check-in was supposed to be 3pm. She gave EXCELLENT SERVICE! Breakfast was delicious.

The handicapped room I requested only had a bar on the wall to step into the tub. Was looking for a walk in shower with a seat. I'm unable to stand for any period of time would have been more helpful to sit.

The room was great we loved the view and the facilities themselves were great!

This issue has been remedied! But it did take a while We got charged for parking for three days and only used the parking garage one day. We told staff multiple times going in and out and we were still charged after our stay. It took some back and forth to get a refund but in the end the fix was relatively easy just frustrating. Otherwise overall everything was great

Hotel is very conveniently located close to restaurants and bars, very walkable area that's only about a 5 minute walk from the Des Moines' Downtown Farmers’ Market. Room was very comfy and clean.

WiFi was extremely weak, barely able to watch videos on my phone or iPad. Unable to download a new app on my phone due to constant disconnection.

The breafast was very good. Nearby restaurants provide other meals. The room was comfortable and clean, spacious and well-furnished. Very comfortable. Parking is convenient, although not a bargain.

I'd suggested having a second set of curtains for added privacy, especially on the window next to the bed. The coffee maker in the room seemed to have a part missing, so it couldn't be used.

Great location - walking distance to restaurants, quay, etc.

Parking, provided by the hotel is #30 per night. Empty parking lots in 3-5 min walking distance for just $10. As a workaround: check-in, unload the car and park in a distance. We reserved a room for 4 but we had towels, bed linen, pillows for 2-3.

Breakfast was convenient and varied each day; staff was quite pleasant and extremely helpful, bed was comfortable and we felt well rested, we enjoyed the shuttle to the State Fair, visiting the bridges of Madison County, and meeting many wonderful people of Iowa. We found publications from the Iowa Bureau of Tourism a real help in planning our trip.

The only thing that would have made our visit more enjoyable was to spend more time in Des Moines. A dining room in the hotel would be a welcome addition.

The cleanliness was great. Water was hot. The breakfast was great. Staff was always smiling. Very helpful.

I wish there were extra pillows and blankets that we could of used. The pillows were not very nice to sleep on. The air was not working the second night and the room got very hot.

Nice big rooms.Very clean facility. Great breakfast, nice variety and very appealing. All staff were so pleasant and very friendly and helpful.

Only 1 working elevator. Limited parking in garage because of downtown location... But hotel is connected to Skywalk and that's a huge plus!

the room we had was super spacious. Very clean. the staff was very friendly and truly cared about their visitors. My sugar had dropped and lady behind the desk took care of purchasing the items I got herself. These simple gestures go along ways in my book. The breakfast had a true “home cooked” feel to it as the food serving area was not in steamers and ice - but in nice cookware which I’m assuming instead of adding food to it- this allows them to keep the food fresher by switching the pans out completely. There’s access to the skywalk which was great as we were going to Wells Fargo.

The only thing that I could possibly say and it couldn’t be changed - the parking lot across the street was quite small - if you have a larger vehicle it is a pretty tight fit.
