The food quality at the main buffet restaurant Palm Court was excellent each day (breakfast and dinner), the hotel felt cosy, we loved the ice cream van, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom spacious, the staff were very friendly and discreet, the cleaning lady in charge of our room went above and beyond to keep everything tidy and clean, and we also received particularly great hospitality from Sandeep and Manav, we would be happy to return

The pool water was very cold which is why we mainly stayed at the beach, there was also only one family pool and no dedicated kids pool which we enjoyed at another 5* hotel on the island previously, the drink and food prices were extortionate (e.g. glass of wine £15, beer £6, apple juice £5) and slightly upsetting when you know the local supermarket prices (1 beer just 30 pence)

I've been planning this trip for so long, and honestly, Lux did not disappoint. They exceeded my expectations and it was everything I imagined it would be and more. The whole resort was absolutely amazing. The staff was my favorite part of it all, they were all very friendly, always helpful and would go the extra mile, not just for us but for all the guests. We had food from each of the different restaurants and we were very happy with the service and the food (special thank you to the staff and to Naresh for catering to my allergies). Also special thanks to the ladies at ICI and the amazing icecreams we got to enjoy. We tried every different flavor and eventually it was so hard to pick one favorite because we enjoyed them all. We did enjoy a few of the fun activities the resort had planned and we had an awesome time. We especially loved the cocktail making class at Inti, we had so much fun and he was our absolute favorite bartender (we couldn't wait to go home and make Ti-Punch for our friends and family) We were extremely happy with our room. Special thank you to the cleaning staff who looked for my missing earring (I had realized I lost it outside the resort, but they went out of their way to check throughout the room if they couldn't find it by chance, so I really appreciated that). I would like to say a special thank you to Yavesh for taking such amazing care of us. Every time we went out exploring outside the resort, he made sure we had water and directions and suggestions on places to go and to see. He really went above and beyond for us and was my absolute favorite face to see every morning.

Honestly, there wasn't anything I didn't like. I would really have to nitpick to find something bad to say. The only big thing maybe for us was that with all the rain we had our clothes took a while to dry, even though the line in the shower was a big help. We did eventually put some clothes on the patio over the chairs to get them dry, but honestly that was more on us than on the hotel, since we didn't want to pay for dry cleaning.

Its very clean n there is lot of space

The property is fine but the staff they still have an element of discrimination based on the colour.why am saying this during our breakfast we struggled to get attention from The staff whereas people next to us they don’t even call for service but they always get attention from the staff

Taxis were expensive even if the drivers were friendly and courteous. Due to the location of the hotel the management should consider a free shuttle bus service to Grand Bay.

It was a truly marvelous visit where we left with great memories and extremely relaxed. Everything was thought off and the attention to detail is impeccable. Although the facilities are truly top notch, its the attentiveness of the staff that really makes the difference at the resort. We spent two weeks here with our family and intend to come back for sure. The food at the restaurants is of a very high standard. We were afraid that might get bored with the food for two weeks being there, but in practice we had every dinner at the restaurant and it was fantastic. Great diversity of cuisine and great-, attentive and friendly service. We enjoyed the cocktails and drinks as well. Perhaps the highpoint of our holiday was a trip we did in a traditional boat with our family where we went fishing and had lunch on a small island outside the resort.

Communication via email in advance (scheduling arrival time, early check-in, etc..) was a bit chaotic, but in the end everything worked out well. Minor details were that the pool was a bit cold, especially for our kid. Also on two separate occasions the housekeeping accidentally packed the stuffed animal of our kid. In one case we managed to get it back luckily but the second one was before our departure so we lost it. Is a minor thing of course, but our kid was devasted. Nonetheless, we all look back on a fantastic visit and want to come back.

Everything was like a dream. Service and the rooms were just fantastic.

We were impressed by the range of facilities that were included - tennis, table tennis, watersports, some of the spa, gym. The breakfast buffet was extensive and varied with a range that suited many different tastes. The beach was lovely with golden sand and shallow water. The pools were a little chilly but we did travel in the winter period. An additional nice touch was that the barista coffee bar was included in the B&B meal package. The staff could not be more attentive and helpful. Nothing was too difficult and they were always keen to help. Slyvano the barista was really lovely and made a fantastic range of coffees! There was an impressive selection of restaurants but we mainly ate dinner outside the hotel as we had hired a car and Grand Baie was only 15 mins away. Our Lux Suite was large and enabled our teenage daughter to have a separate room and bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the room clean and tidy. There were some minor signs of wear and tear. There was a comprehensive selection of channels on TV - I was even able to watch England v the All Black live! I would say that this was the best Five Star Hotel that I have ever stayed in.

It is hard to find anything beyond perhaps a warmer pool!

The resort is beautiful, down to little details. The adult only section was very private and tranquil and we loved our deck with a view over the lagoon. The staff was extremely friendly and kind. There were lots of good options for activities, including paddle, snorkel, water skiing, tennis. The spa was also excellent, as were the choices of restaurants

Perhaps a better management of the rotation of people in the spa (to maximize enjoyment) - we also found it strange that we couldn’t book the breakfast for just one of us or for just one day of our stay (it had to be 2 people for the whole stay. My partner likes to take breakfast whereas I skip it). Also, the hotel app didn’t really work for booking restaurants as promised

Gorgeous resort with lovely staff. The fresh and grand entrance / reception area to the resort was an instant 'hit of luxury'. It was instantly a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere on arrival. The staff were always attentive and friendly. They catered well for both couples and families. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. Loved the fresh local coffee every morning with the incredibly well provisioned and freshly prepared buffet breakfasts... sooo much to choose from! Buffet dinners were also impressive in regard to variety and freshness. As most travellers know; the food offered can make or break a holiday. Lux Grand Gaube was exceptional 👌 A special thank you to the manager and staff of the Beach Rouge restaurant on the main beach. They went the extra mile to enhance our dining experience after a very minor misunderstanding (which was no ones fault). Very gracious and generous people 🤗 We joined in on some of the free resort activities on offer which we loved, including the glass bottom boat over the nearby reef (saw a sea turtle), yoga, kayaking, water exercise classes, high intencity exercise classes, outdoor cinema and more. The resort spa was also a delight. My young daughter and I had a facial together, and then I had a fantastic warm stone massage (thank you Preeta). The ladies at the spa were very welcoming and friendly. A shout out to the resort's taxi drivers who are available on hand at reception to take you anywhere you want. Price is agreed up front and very reasonable! We found it cheaper and more personal to have one of these taxi drivers take us around to different attractions instead of booking through tour operators, etc. The driver waited for us and then took us to the next location we requested. They even suggested some places along the way which value-added to our day trips. Before going to Mauritius, I was worried about mosquitoes and the risk they posed.

The rooms mini bar and drinks were not included in the 'half board option' (including drinks at dinner/ breakfast). This has been included at other resorts we've been to. One evening (soon after we arrived), my daughter and I went for a walk around the resort, we were surprised by the 'fumigation buggy' which came past us without warning. We were engulfed by the 'fumigation cloud'. We felt fine but just a bit shocked at the time, not realising what was happening.
