The Reno 's done to the Kanata are absolutely gorgeous! Modern, open, and very warm and welcoming. Our room was massive with plenty of room for all our gear and then some. With the addition of the Jacuzzi tub, our one night stay, (which was a one night getaway from camping for a week), was relaxing and comfortable!

The only thing my wife and I didn't really like, was the shower. The newly designed bathroom, while big and very spacious, was a bit tricky at times. I found myself having to redirect the shower head multiple times, as the shower has a sit down/foot stool type of thing on the same side as the shower head. This in turn made it difficult to find a good spot for the shower head, especially with such low water pressure.

The onsite parking is free. They have a lovely indoor swimming pool which was very clean. I enjoyed swimming there on a couple of days during our stay. The breakfast area is available at suitable times and had a reasonable variety of options available. The bed was very comfortable. The wifi worked very well. The night manager we met on our arrival was very pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. He helped with information regarding the Calgary stampede and also helped with ordering food to be delivered and getting a real cup of tea. His friendliness and help made all the difference. We could walk to and from the Calgary Stampede or catch the C-Train. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again if visiting Calgary.

The family suite was very large and accommodating. I appreciated the thoughtfulness such as free laundry facilities, including detergent, and also the breakfast variety and the waterslide. Though it is an hour to Jasper, the drive is scenic!

Bring eye masks, especially during the summer, because light filters in and daylight hours are long. Bring ear plugs because the ceiling is thin. It sounded like a herd of moose above us. The hot tub was often under maintenance during our stay, and the pool is very shallow (under 3 feet), so be mindful when you slide.

Casey is awesome. Super friendly and helpful. We requested a late checkout and it helped us get our family sorted. The beds are comfortable. Our room was very clean. The bathtub was even decent enough to be used. Usually, it's only ever good enough to shower. Breakfast was average/standard. Enough of a variety so everyone had something. Pool was warm, clean. Waterside is FAST. The pool is shallow. Perfect for our both our 3yr old and our teens to enjoy. Definitely would recommend and we will return.

The room is spacious, ample space for 4 peoples and for doing prayer (bonus for us as Muslim). We did request for not near towards pet room floor. We got the 1st room on the main floor itself, across the dining hall. Luckily, it was quiet and we did not hear anything even we were closer to elevator as well. Room looks new, comfy bed and pillow. This is the second time we chose to stay with The Kanata and it did great in my expectation. With just under 1 hour from Jasper, we glad to stay again in here. Hotel is clean, pool is warm and have a waterslide, which a huge point for our kiddos. Breakfast also starts early at 5am and included in the room rate. Casey did splendid job upon checkout as well as the lady upon check-in. The hotel totally deserves 10/10 for overall rating.

We can still hear people running above our room but we totally understand as we have kids as well. It did not bother us at all.

Comfortable and clean with a good size pool and great hot tub. Our boys loved the water slide. Helpful and courteous staff. Location was ideal for day trips to Jasper. Kitchenette was useful and functional despite no extra sink. Ample towels.

AC was quite loud. TV didn’t work properly throughout stay. Seemed to be a signal issue. Breakfast was ok and for the rate we paid, we expected a bit more options.

Our room is good for our family. It’s spacious and clean. Well lighted and well ventilated. Each family member can have privacy. I even have my online meeting while family is doing their own activities- cooking, watching TV etc.

I appreciate that they inform me about renovations via text and us going in the back instead of the front. That got me worried. I did not know about the renovation until I booked and they explain that it’s not in them but it’s the Booking app. This is why they make sure to text and inform costumers.

One of the things that left an impression was the staff at the front desk. They were very friendly and personable. You are welcome with open arms from the time you enter the building! I stayed in the king bed suite; the room was cozy. The jacuzzi is a really nice touch, and a great way to relax after a long day of driving. The beds were comfy. The breakfast was great. I cannot complain. I would definitely stay with them again.

The staff was super friendly. The room was huge and clean—easy, free parking. There was a nice trail behind the hotel to walk our pet. The breakfast was excellent and well-kept. We could sleep with our window open because it was very silent outside.

There is just one huge problem with the noise insulation. The hotel is well aware of this problem and is in the process of renovations. We had the pleasure of a loud guest in the room above us who started the day at 4:30 a.m. Still, I would return to this hotel for my next stay in Hinton. Pet fee, but no welcome back for the pet, unlike other hotels.

We could not have stayed at a better hotel for customer service above and beyond, from getting our pet friendly room ready 4 hours early and letting us straight in, to assisting with gluten free options at breakfast. We had car issues and were forced to stay 3 nights, all the staff were so friendly and helpful from the front desk to housekeeping. A special mention has to be for Casey on the front desk his empathy towards our difficult situation and great customer service is a credit to the hotel, a very caring person who really helped our situation. If you need an overnight stop we would definitely recommend this chain of hotels and especially the Hinton BCMInns. Breakfast was a great choice, hot and plenty of options, good coffee. A big thank you to Casey your customer service really is 5 star and you can tell you enjoy your job and thank your boss for understanding and assisting on the last night rate. The large rooms are comfortable and cosy with everything you need and you only have to ask the front desk for any extra supplies you need.
