Generally rating a hotel with 10 out of 10 is something I do only if the place is exceptionally good. Here I would have liked to rate with an 11 if possible. In principle the hotel is not "a hotel with a restaurant", it is a restaurant which by chance has gotten a tiny hotel in second floor. So the hotel part alone is nice - besides the picturesque surroundings, the whacking part is the restaurant which has one Michelin star (and deserves surely more). The complete menu is quite small and consists of local produced items, recipes are gourmet-refined Alsatian, even with the wine, you can stay on the terroir ( even though there is choice, no need to leave the region, at least for me as a Rieslingomaniac ). Enjoy the amuse-gueules! E.g. a microscopic cube of Presskopf on some mustard catapulted me back to my childhood experience of just this food, pretty much like - an Anton Ego experience in real life.

My stay there was by far too short. There are too many dishes that still remain to be enjoyed and there are corners in their wine cellar that are still mainly terra incognita...

Wonderful little hotel with restaurant in a beautiful old village north of Strasbourg. We came after check in time and Judit helped us with a pinkode and information about restaurants close by because we were too late for the restaurant at the hotel. We had a lovely, big room with a balcony towards the garden. The bed, cushions and the shower was perfect for us! There was a modern AC that made the room nice and cool but we didn’t need it for the night, we opened the window and got nice fresh air. The breakfast buffet was delicious. We could park our car for free just outside the hotel.

The hotel is located in the nice village of la Wantzenau located a 20 minutes drive from Strasbourg. the hotel is very nice, small and quiet. Rooms are comfortable, water and coffee capsule are provided every day and the small chocolate adds a sweet taste to the experience. Reception is open from 7 to 20 but a number is available for emergencies or needs. I haven't called it tough. Staff is friendly and professional. I haven't tried the hotel restaurant that looks very good. I would recommend it to anyone having a car wants to visit Strasbourg from a nice and quiet small village in the French countryside. The village also hosts some good restaurants worth trying.

There is no toilet consumables available (i.e. cotton swab, shaving cream, tooth paste or brush, etc.) but perhaps this is a policy that has to do with the respect of the environment and reduce single use plastics. Reception closes overnight but check in run smoothly thanks to the code provided and the envelope with the keys and the instructions left at the desk.

La Wantzenau is a peaceful village location not far from Strasbourg with a number of excellent restaurants including the one star Michelin rated restaurant in the hotel. Unfortunately we were not able to eat at the hotel's restaurant as it is closed Sunday through Tuesday lunch and we were staying there to attend a family funeral Monday to Wednesday. Breakfast was fine with a typical choice for continental style breakfast.

The air conditioning in the room was inadequate. Fortunately it wasn't too hot in the room during our stay.

We has to leave early in the morning so, sadly, were unable to sample breakfast. Dinner the previous evening was absolutely superb. The chef's creations were amazing , the selected wines matched the food perfectly, and the service accompanying each course was first class. It was particularly interesting to note how much emphasis was placed on locally sourced products.

Simply nothing

It is a very cosy Alsatian hotel with a little bit of modern twist. The service is great and so is the food. The rooms are pretty big and well decorated.

Please know that the hotel is situated next to two major local roads and the walls are not very well isolated, so you can hear the passing cars. This is a bit of a problem in the night, especially if you are a light sleeper.

The hotel is truly charming and very cozy, with a distinct Alsatian flavor. The old farm decor has been renovated in an elegant contemporary style, but the old wooden beams preserve its original rustic appeal. The staff is very diligent in keeping the property impeccably clean. The breakfast buffet included eggs, delicatessen, cheeses, cereal and yogurt, as well as fresh fruit and a variety of bakery-fresh breads and cake. The service was perfect. We stayed in one of the « romantic » rooms, which was most comfortable and very quiet.

Very comfortable rooms and great value. Location is perfect for a stopover from UK when heading into Germany. It would also be a great base for exploring Alsace. The highlight is the 1 star Michelin restaurant, which is simply outstanding. Exceptional service and wonderful food and wine. Good Wi-Fi. Free parking on site. It is and will remain my go to stopover for Germany and the region.

Absolutely nothing

On business trips to Germany this is a great location for a stopover. It is within reasonable reach from Calais and close to the German border ready for next day travel. The hotel is reasonably priced with comfortable rooms . modern bathrooms, flat screen tv, good Wi-Fi etc all a plus. Ample free parking Staff are friendly and efficient. It is worth booking the restaurant for dinner as the food and experience are exceptional. A joy from start to finish

Nice little guesthouse with lots of character a bit north of Strasbourg in a quiet neighborhood. We stayed here because of the restaurant which is amazing. Gourmet French- pricey, but definitely a dining experience. The room was comfortable and quite spacious. There was a large tub with hand-held shower. The staff were wonderful- friendly and helpful. Our little dog was welcome and provided with a dog be and bowls for and additional 16 Euro.

The bed was maybe a bit too firm for my taste, but most people would probably like it.
