Beautiful building good location and staff were friendly I was very worried having seen the reviews on other platforms but was pleasantly surprised Beds and pillows comfy and clean bathroom was OK we didn't eat or drink at the hotel but food is available and there were a few people watching football in the bar The hotel was very quiet in the evening no banging doors or noisy quests slept well.

If you have mobility issues you should make it known at booking and ask for room closest to reception there is a lift but a long walk to our room and a few stairs. The the hotel is tired and could do with a freshen up carpets etc and there were no plug sockets next to the bed to charge phone all sockets were on other side of room. The old stair case is beautiful but again if mobility problems there is no hand rail on the left going down and the heating in that area was too hot! the heating was on in our room but it was bearable with the window open did try to turn it down but it wouldn't

Having spent time in a very disappointing city centre hotel the previous week, my expectations weren’t high. Im sadly so wrong. The hotel I’ve been to many times, but never to stay before. The receptionist went out of her way to help me- I’m disabled- changed my room so I could access it using the lift, assisted me when I’d had problems with the key card and was all round a very nice person. The room was great, very clean & tidy, unlike my previous hotel. I will go back again

My only small gripe was it had a step into bath overhead shower but I will not knock the hotel for that at all.

We found room 234 very clean and comfortable, nicely decorated and equipped. Comfortable beds and fluffy duvets and plenty of tea coffee. Great view across the Airedale and nice grounds.

The bathroom was very dated, the bath had bad water stains in it and the shower had no water pressure but was just about useable. Just as well we could shower as we discovered the sink had no plug.. Condensation on the double glazing first thing in morning was quite bad. Replenishing T bags from reception when coming in late was possible but more milk seemed to be an issue. We found as frequent users of other hotels that the lack of information in the room about Restaurant and Bar opening times and what was available at what cost was very strange. Maybe something management should address?

Lovely surrounding. I looked out across a wooded valley from our enormous room. Their breakfast hash browns were a delight. I've never stayed anywhere with pleasanter staff. A big shout of for Dee on reception and the guy behind the bar who's name I never learned. Both were lovely

The fish and chips. I'm a Yorkshire lass. Fish and chips run in my bllod - but not theirs. The fish was dried out, the batter so well cooked it had dark brown edges. It came with oven chips. Harry Ramsden would be turning in his grave.

Friendly welcoming, helpful staff. Very clean and very warm, at times too warm. Very good range of furniture and facilities in the room. Small settee as well as desk area, comfy bed, wardrobe space etc. Nicely appointed bathroom. WE had asked for a quiet room and that request had been granted but it was a long way off so the hotel was able to arrange transfer to another room closer to reception. Good and easy car parking. Nice grounds though it being winter we were not able to make use of them. Will definitely use this hotel again.

Music from the restaurant began at 7.00 am and we could hear it from our room. WE asked that the start time be changed till later and it was. So again very responsive and helpful.

Don't know where to start if I'm honest. We had to extend our stay due to a blizzard and icey weather conditions. Originally only wanted an overnight stay. Turned into 3 nights. All staff during this time went above and beyond to make the whole process as easy as possible for me and my husband. Very welcoming and outstanding customer service. *The two gentlemen on reception on Monday the 06-01-25 and Tuesday the 07-01-25 10/10 👍 *To the two men who spent 2 days shovelling the drive and paths to make it safe. Hats off 👏 *Food is absolutely delicious. I recommend the chicken tikka masala. 10/10 and room service available. Also, pet friendly 🐕 Lovely and clean ✨️ Amazing value for money and such a beautiful gothic building with amazing views. Top marks from Mr&Mrs Rowley

Location is excellent for reaching cities, and countryside. Easy to access. Car parking top rate Receptionist, Julie, deserves a medal. She dealt with a problem with an agitated guest calmly and professionally. The guest was a little bit rude to her, but she handled him so well, it was a joy to see her in action Room: QUIET! Clean and pleasant, bed comfortable. Good shower. Pleasant outlook Breakfast: Good selection, well prepared. Staff so helpful Seems to me that staff are well trained here .

No complaints. But a grab rail by the front steps would have been helpful to me And, not the hotel's fault - cigarette ends thrown on the floor at the front entrance spoiled the look. But that is people! Why do smokers think that that is OK is beyond me

The bedroom was scrupulously clean and tidy. The bathroom had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were courteous and helpful. There was a good variety of items available and the food was well cooked. The dining room was clean and tidy.

I did inform staff I would be a late check in, due to attending a wedding, but there was some confusion at my time of arrival. However, this was cleared up quickly and the receptionist was polite and helpful.

Bed was comfortable, room was small but pleasant. Had a bathtub which I loved. The scenery outside was quite nice, as well as the entrance and reception. I only used my room to sleep in at night, as I stayed out all day.

My room's window faced the back of the hotel and I often smelled cigars outside, there was also a lot of noise from staff often. Found one too many spiders in my room too. The room was a bit hot but the hallway was much worse (I went in June). Had to request a hairdryer, as there was none in the room despite it being listed as a commodity. The tea offered was not so great, too little sugar too, but I liked the instant coffee. The bed covers were too thick for June. Walls were a bit too thin, I could hear everything from the rooms next to mine. Had to walk a lot to actually reach my room, too.

Clean and comfortable.

I had asked for a later time so that I could go directly to my wedding but the cleaning staff were quite rude and they said that I had to go early because they were waiting to clean up my room. This was while I was still preparing for my wedding and my brother who was my best man was not very happy about the disturbance and I wasn’t too pleased either.
