we stayed 1 night after we had been to a wedding,we had arranged a late check in, this went very smoothly no issues at all and the communication from hotel to me was very efficient ,the room was spotless and had plenty of room , breakfast in the morning was lovely and the staff were very attentive..the location of the hotel is fabulous right next to the train station but also close to all shops and pubs

Cleanliness and location for train station and peace hall amazing. Breakfast cooked to order. The room had an upstairs sleeping area which gave it loads of character. Room deposit of £100 taken at check in and refunded a few hours after we left. We would stay here again. Reception staff friendly and cooked breakfast as well.

The check in took over an hour stood in a queue. A coach party arrived just before us and they had to book in separately. Having worked in a hotel in the past I was wondering why a group check in or a bit of preparation wasn’t done. The bathroom was clean but a little dated.

The location is excellent for the Piece Hall and the Calderdale Industrial Museum. The 24 hour free parking was much appreciated. Daiken (?), the young man in charge of the reception, provided exceptionally friendly and helpful service, even offering to carry our luggage to our room. Later in the evening he became the barman, again providing outstanding service. The hotel is an old building, and the interior fittings reflect this, so don't expect modern conveniences such as lifts or swish bathrooms, but if you appreciate old fashioned buildings and excellent service, this hotel is great value for money.

For the price, nothing else was needed.

Couldn’t find the car park so parked in Woolshops. This is not the fault of the hotel but something to be aware of: the street furniture & barriers from the event at Piece Hall was extremely noisy & meant we didn’t particularly have a decent nights sleep so it’s worth considering if booking & there’s an event on. Also the request for £100 deposit for the room, fair enough it wasn’t taken but it was showing as a pending transaction

We were so lucky to find this hotel particularly as our booked accommodation was cancelled by the hosts on the day of our stay. It was still being renovated so no bar or restaurant but will be lovely when complete. Excellent location right next to the Piece Hall with discounted parking across the street and close to bars and restaurants

What we really liked about the property was the convenience of free parking, the fast and reliable Wi-Fi, and the excellent customer service. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the city centre, with everything just a short walk away. Although the building is older, it has a charming character and is kept very clean and tidy. The rooms are comfortable and cozy, offering a relaxing space to unwind after a long day. It’s great value for money, with thoughtful amenities that enhanced our stay. Overall, a welcoming and pleasant place that we’d be happy to return to. Highly recommended for both short and long stays.

If I could make a small suggestion, it would be to consider updating the carpets. Don’t get me wrong—everything is clean, it’s just that the carpets feel a bit dated. Also, mixing the hot and cold water in the shower can be a little tricky at times. Aside from those minor points, I have no complaints. Everything else about the stay was great.

Clean and tidy hotel, the price was reflective of the amenities. No frills hotel, it is functional and comfy and was in a good location to walk to nearby bars and restaurants. I would say it is good value for money and had no complaints . The reason I gave an 8 rating was due to the shower being a little difficult to set the temperature as it was controlled by the taps on the bath so balancing hot and cold took a few mins. Also, (fussy comment, I know) only 1 plug by one side of the bed which is ok but with multiple items to charge (watch and 2 phones) it meant charging them on the desk the other side of the room. To be fair, it is a nice hotel, staff are friendly and the facilities are clean and tidy so for a night or two I would stay again for access to locations on a night out.

Chosen for the location, right across the road from Halifax Station and very near the Piece Hall, for a concert. Lovely building, staff were excellent, bed very comfortable, breakfast very good and bath, washbasin and toilet very clean, also towels and bedding. Room size fine for me, fairly quiet, but noise from rock concert at the Piece Hall the night before mine went on till late.

Room really does need an update, with new paint and flooring. Carpet and bathroom flooring did not look clean and mold stains on ceiling and tiles.

Brilliant Services, Michael who served us on arrival and breakfast were absolutely professional, polite, informative & patient with us. The next time we come to Halifax we'll book The Imperial Crown Hotel again. Breakfast were included, so it was most excellent price value.. Fantastic!!! My Husband had the eggs bendnidict and I had the pancake, bacon & maple syrup.

On our arrival to the room, we had the one bath sheets and 2 x hand towels provided between the two of us, the bathroom was not 100% clean, however standard is so much higher the last hotel were attended at Halifax. This hotel are amazing in comparison.

The hotel far exceeded our expectations. It was excellent value for the price we paid. The hotel is a work in progress and is being renovated bit by bit. I am sure that It will be completed to a high standard. Our room was excellent as was the bed linen and towels. The staff were efficient and friendly, giving us much advice about the area. The location, for us, was really very good. Everything was within easy reach. We did not eat at the hotel but the dining room looked lovely. We are very pleased we stayed there.
