House was absolutely gorgeous, and the room and views were exceptional, we got a free upgrade to room 2 and it was facing Shibden Hall. Room was decent size, very clean, bed was comfortable and the pillows were amazing!! For anyone wanting to visit Halifax, I would highly recommend this property, the hosts were friendly and not intrusive and were more than willing to chat and offer their knowledge of the local area. Breakfast was amazing and cooked by Adeles son, sorry I forgot your name but would like to thank him as he really did go above and beyond. Stay here is my advice and you won't be disappointed, just bring some comfy shoes, lots of walking to be done 😀

There was nothing not to like.

What a wonderful couple the host Adele & Philip were, they were naturally friendly. The guesthouse was beautiful, stylish & pristine, as presented on their website, we were charmed on entering the property. we stayed in 'Suite room 1' a touch of luxury overlooking with amazing views & absolutely beautiful unsuite. Breakfast was delicious & didn't fail to impress, good quality fresh ingredients, the vegetarian breakfast knocked socks off any other we've every experienced or tasted. I can't rave about this hidden gem enough. Would definitely stay here again, thank you so much for making us feel so welcome Adele & Phil.x

It was a beautiful house set on a hillside with lovely views, which felt roomy and very comfortable. The bedroom was well decorated with plenty of storage space in solid furniture. The furnishings were very good. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was excellent, with large fluffy towels and big bottles of shower gel and shampoo. We had a great view from our window. There was a fridge with bottled water and fresh milk, and there was a coffee maker with plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The owner made us feel at home, gave us lots of tips and cooked an excellent breakfast. There was a pub within a short walk of the house, which served good food, and other eating places were not too far. Halifax was within easy reach and Shibden Hall was very close.

The only downside was that the Wi-Fi was a bit patchy at times. Other than that, it was perfect.

Beautiful property, very well appointed & luxurious room, quiet, & with a breathtaking unspoilt view for miles & miles across the West Yorkshire hills & valleys. Hosts were lovely too! Didn't get up in time to make breakfast, but I'm sure it would have been a superb full English! Will absolutely make this our preferred place to stay going forward for all future trips to Halifax. Highly recommended 👍

The photos don't do it justice, this place is beautiful! Absolute luxury! I massively recommend the cooked breakfast, the meat and the veggie were both really special. Loved everything about this place, they obviously put a massive amount of work into looking after the building and the guests. Some info: 30 minute walk from Halifax, up some incredibly steep paths, about £7 for a taxi, £2 for the bus which is very regular in the day. Shibden hall is worth the entry fee if you're into history, totally fascinating. Don't forget you can book direct!

What can I say , we stopped on sat 4th May ,we often have weekend breaks and have been a vast amount of places, but this place ranks one of the top places we have stayed , we stayed in room 2 and the moment I entered the room my words were wow , absolutely gorgeous room and the view was outstanding, Philip and Adele were the perfect hosts and so friendly and welcoming, lovely garden area to sit out in and a lovely pond with huge koi in it , free parking and pub doing food a very short walk away , shower was large and had good controls and let's not forget the breakfast absolutely yummy , I could go on and on , will deffo be going again .

Spacious, beautiful, comfortable, quiet room, historical atmosphere, and wonderful breakfast with a view of Shibden Hall. I greatly appreciated the owners' hospitality.

I did not have a car and when I made the reservation, I was a bit concerned about the distance from Halifax, but it was well worth getting out of the city for the atmosphere. There was a bus stop nearby. To save time, I ended up using Uber, which cost about 5-6 pounds.

Beautiful rooms, especially at the front which overlooks Shibden Hall and Valley. Shibden Hall View is the old Hough House, originally owned by Ann Walker, Anne Listers (of Shibden Hall) wife. In a stunning location on the edge of Halifax. Run by Phil and Adele, breakfast cooked by chef Phil which was at the highest standard. Extremely friendly and welcoming, this discreet little gem is a must visit. I highly recommend.

Absolutely nothing!

Shibden Hall View is a beautiful historic property hosted by a lovely, friendly couple. We stayed in a cosy, quiet, spotlessly clean room with a big comfortable bed, cotton bedding, extra pillows, and heavy blackout curtains. We had two great nights of sleep. The bathroom was stylish with fluffy bath sheets and the biggest bath I've ever been in. It's just a minor thing for me. I'm only 4ft 11in and I couldn't see in the bathroom mirror 😳 luckily I had brought a magnifying mirror with me, so it wasn't a problem. It was nice to have a fridge with fresh milk and bottled water and a coffee maker and kettle in the room. The communal areas and gardens were stylish. The breakfast was delicious with generous portions of good quality food. I loved the slabs of toast and butter. There were plenty of information leaflets about Halifax and the surrounding areas available. It was a perfect place to spend a weekend in Halifax for my husband's birthday, revisiting fond childhood memories of his maternal grandparents, Edward and Jean Horsfall. He was so proud to see his great-grandfather Hugh Campbell's inventions of gas engines in the Calderdale Industrial Museum.

This is a beautiful property built in the 1700s, a lot of the old features have been kept. Our room no 3 was absolutely delightful 4 poster bed most comfortable, lovely clean linen and the most fluffiest of towels. Fresh milk and water supplied plenty of coffee and tea, the added touch of fresh flowers was a really nice touch. Breakfast was delicious very high quality food. Adele and Phil were most pleasant of hosts and nothing was too much trouble and we hope to see you again soon. There is a lovely outside seating area with the most spectacular views of the country side.
