House was absolutely gorgeous, and the room and views were exceptional, we got a free upgrade to room 2 and it was facing Shibden Hall. Room was decent size, very clean, bed was comfortable and the pillows were amazing!! For anyone wanting to visit Halifax, I would highly recommend this property, the hosts were friendly and not intrusive and were more than willing to chat and offer their knowledge of the local area. Breakfast was amazing and cooked by Adeles son, sorry I forgot your name but would like to thank him as he really did go above and beyond. Stay here is my advice and you won't be disappointed, just bring some comfy shoes, lots of walking to be done 😀

There was nothing not to like.

It was an ideal location for visiting Shibden Hall and it was also easy to catch a bus into Halifax. It is however located on a steep hill so would not be suitable for anybody who had mobility issues. For the majority of my stay, I only had cereals and fruit for breakfast. There wasn't a lot of choice but this was fine.

Due to my own mistake, we ended up in the wrong room, which was evidently a bit more upmarket than the one we should have been in. Even though I offered twice to move out, Adele refused but I did feel as if she did not think that it was a genuine mistake and treated us accordingly.

Very warm welcome, beautiful house and surroundings. The room was spacious and nicely decorated with everything you would need for a short stay. The bed was comfy and everything was very clean, bathroom also very nice. Only £5 for a taxi into town, there's a pub just 2 mins walk away that serves food as well. Lovely picturesque views from the patio area and onsite parking. We mentioned we were going to a concert at The Piece Hall, as was everyone else staying there, so as we were going to leave they had put the band on the stereo downstairs, which I thought was a really lovely personal touch. Also I left my phone charger which they very kindly offered to post to me, what more can you ask for, lovely people. Overall a very friendly, beautiful and relaxing place to stay, much appreciated.

Nothing I didn't like about the place, earplugs and eye mask provided, as it is an old house you can hear downstairs if people are talking loudly but it wasn't really any bother. You wouldn't hear anything if you used the plugs provided.

We stayed in the double king room with a four poster bed (we actually got to choose our room when we got there as wasn't a peak night). Room was spotless, bed was really comfy, nice shower with northern water (which is actually water!), room was spacious, faced the cobbled road but 1 car went past when we were there - so wasn't a problem at all. Coffee machine, real milk in fridge, tv, mirrors, lots of towels, hairdryer in the pull out draw and a fan above the bed! Living room was cosy with board games, fire and lots of arm chairs and couches to pick from. Out door garden with view of the hills and valley (someone allowed construction of the roofs in front to block the actual valley, which is a shame, but you can see in part and the hills, with trees everywhere, still a lovely view) with lots of chairs, umbrellas and a carp pond! Dining room is spot, we sat in the window seat with views of the valley/hills, breakfast was top notch 👌, perfectly rendered fat on bacon, black pudding, beans reduced just how we like them, perfect egg and sausage. Only stayed for one night, we wanted to stay for more! Staff were friendly and very helpful, they quickly check your room after youve checkedout so youve not left anything, obviously we had and they brought them down! Location very much suited our needs, 5 min or so by cab from Halifax train station. ADVICE!!! if catching connecting train from Leeds, always get 1 or 2 trains before from Halifax, there are likely to be delays, and will result in missing train from Leeds. We got 2 trains before and the one we were going to get was 45minutes delayed. Leeds is awesome so

We like our espresso or cappuccino in the morning rather than cafetiere, however thats really picking at straws and didn't actually ask.

What a wonderful couple the host Adele & Philip were, they were naturally friendly. The guesthouse was beautiful, stylish & pristine, as presented on their website, we were charmed on entering the property. we stayed in 'Suite room 1' a touch of luxury overlooking with amazing views & absolutely beautiful unsuite. Breakfast was delicious & didn't fail to impress, good quality fresh ingredients, the vegetarian breakfast knocked socks off any other we've every experienced or tasted. I can't rave about this hidden gem enough. Would definitely stay here again, thank you so much for making us feel so welcome Adele & Phil.x

It was a beautiful house set on a hillside with lovely views, which felt roomy and very comfortable. The bedroom was well decorated with plenty of storage space in solid furniture. The furnishings were very good. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was excellent, with large fluffy towels and big bottles of shower gel and shampoo. We had a great view from our window. There was a fridge with bottled water and fresh milk, and there was a coffee maker with plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The owner made us feel at home, gave us lots of tips and cooked an excellent breakfast. There was a pub within a short walk of the house, which served good food, and other eating places were not too far. Halifax was within easy reach and Shibden Hall was very close.

The only downside was that the Wi-Fi was a bit patchy at times. Other than that, it was perfect.

Spacious, beautiful, comfortable, quiet room, historical atmosphere, and wonderful breakfast with a view of Shibden Hall. I greatly appreciated the owners' hospitality.

I did not have a car and when I made the reservation, I was a bit concerned about the distance from Halifax, but it was well worth getting out of the city for the atmosphere. There was a bus stop nearby. To save time, I ended up using Uber, which cost about 5-6 pounds.

The photos don't do it justice, this place is beautiful! Absolute luxury! I massively recommend the cooked breakfast, the meat and the veggie were both really special. Loved everything about this place, they obviously put a massive amount of work into looking after the building and the guests. Some info: 30 minute walk from Halifax, up some incredibly steep paths, about £7 for a taxi, £2 for the bus which is very regular in the day. Shibden hall is worth the entry fee if you're into history, totally fascinating. Don't forget you can book direct!

Beautiful property, very well appointed & luxurious room, quiet, & with a breathtaking unspoilt view for miles & miles across the West Yorkshire hills & valleys. Hosts were lovely too! Didn't get up in time to make breakfast, but I'm sure it would have been a superb full English! Will absolutely make this our preferred place to stay going forward for all future trips to Halifax. Highly recommended 👍

Not a single thing I can possibly pick fault with! Spot on 👌

Shibden Hall View is a beautiful house dating back from the 1700´s. It’s full of charm & has a relaxed, homely feel. Our room had spectacular views towards Shibden Hall. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Touches like fresh milk in the fridge are always a winner. The owners, Phil & Adele are friendly & genuine people who go out of their way to be helpful. I would definitely recommend this property !

Nothing here to dislike.
