The Lion Hotel is a little gem, typically British hotel, decor, owners, rooms. Very welcoming, chilled and relaxed from the moment you arrive, no forms, no swiping cards, how it used to be “Trust“ everything went on your room, we loved it. We had a fantastic room, very clean large room with everything you could possibly need and one of the best views we have ever had. The owners are the reason for this very relaxed and lovely hotel. We were booked in to have dinner at the hotel which was also excellent, with excellent very friendly staff. Breakfast was fantastic too after a lovely nights sleep. Top marks for this one, faultless and would most definitely stay again. 😊🍻🥳

Nothing.

Lovley quite location, we stayed on a Friday night and you have som talking from the bar that can he feom rooms but by no means was it noisy! I was greeted by Janet and what a Lovley friendly person she was. Thw lovle lady in the kitchen was so accommodating with us going ro be back late but would have dinner ready for us, I would of been happy with a sandwich left behind the bar. Beautiful stake dinner! Breakfast was beautiful cooked and a wide selection of cereal, cereal bars and yogurts. All in all it was fantastic value for money and very welcoming even our well behaved collie stayed

There wasn't anything I could complain about.

The owners were welcoming and friendly, lovely views over the countryside. There was a slight problem with our room, but it was quickly resolved, our hosts insisted on giving us a discount due to the issue (we didn't think a discount was necessary but they insisted so we'll donate it to charity). The food was standard pub fare in the main, but the curries were home made and definitely worth trying if you stay. Breakfast was great, really tasty bacon and sausage and freshly laid eggs. We travelled by motorcycle and were able to leave it under cover by the entrance.

Superb small hotel in a glorious setting in rural Mid Wales. Not a chic boutique hotel but it offers amazing curries and other meals, excellent breakfasts,a comfortable night's sleep and great conversations with the lovely, friendly hosts. Janet has developed her tremendous cooking skills through her regular visits to India and Ray is a knowledgeable, interesting and outgoing person. Just a great place to stay.

Nothing.

Great place to stay when traveling through Wales. The location itself offers nice views, but there is nothing much to visit. Not that you need to, since the in house dinner is great. Room was very clean and comfortable. Bathroom has been called tiny in some other reviews, but it was no problem. Just don't expect to share the bathroom. Lots of parking available. Owner loves to chat which was nice.

I really fell on my feet when I booked this hotel. A beautiful old building with a lovely outside area to sit and relax and take in the magnificent views. The hosts are super friendly and helpful. The drinks at the bar were quite cheap which is a surprise these days. The whole hotel is clean throughout and my room was very big and a super comfy bed. After a relaxing night's sleep I had a top notch cooked breakfast and carried on my way by bicycle. I really enjoyed my stay here.

There was nothing to dislike whatsoever.

Really olde-worlde place, beautiful little room, with fantastic view over the river and trees, amazing sunset, incredibly welcoming landlord Ray and landlady Janet, great tales of their travels in India, tasty authentic curry for dinner, very lively evening of local domino players, real sense of community. We loved it, will definitely return, and would recommend to anyone.

Nothing, it was all brilliant.

Wonderfully welcoming and friendly hosts. Limited range of food and beers as one would expect from a countryside location that's open all year but what they have / do is served promptly and tastes good. The main road goes quiet in the evening so just birdsong and lambs to wake you up. Really good v.f.m., dog friendly and used by locals - it must be good!

The Lion Hotel was easy to find ion a Small village. We were welcomed by the owner in a most pleasant manner. The room was exactly as advertised, with a king sized bed and all the usual facilities. The bathroom was across a very small corridor and was for our exclusive use. The outdoor seating area was sheltered and welcomed the setting sun. The bar service was excellent and the meals, being very well priced, were of high quality and excellent value for money. Breakfast was provided by the owner with the words, " you can have whatever you like"; it was then personally cooked to order; it was of a very high standard and set us up for the day ahead.

Situated in a lovely part of wales within easy reach of the heart of wales. Only stayed overnight so didnt get a chance to look around the area. The staff were happy to go the extra mile and it felt like I was staying with family. Clean and comfortable with lots of extras provided in the bathroom and exstensive choice for tea coffee hot chocolate facilities with biscuits. Breakfast at a time to suit not dictated, again very good, lovely fresh cold milk for cereals followed by a full English(welsh) breakfast.

It could have been down to price or availability, but the good quality free mineral water provided was from Yorkshire. Not Wales or the Malverns. Unable to think of anything else negative to say.
