Gästehaus Forggensee is a hidden gem that was perfect for our family stay in Fussen. The room was clean, spacious for our family of 5, and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was delicious - so much care and attention went into a wonderful breakfast spread. I really loved the coffee and water machines in the lobby that can be accessed any time. The real joy of this property though is Michel, the owner and host of the property. He is something special - warm, welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. We sincerely hope to return someday!

We had a lovely big room with high ceilings at the back of the property. The host Michel was incredibly helpful and friendly, ensuring we felt special and well taken care of. We enjoyed the walk into town via a paved walkway to a fabulous gluten free restaurant recommended by our host. The next morning our needs (with gluten free diets) were well cared for at breakfast which was much appreciated! Free parking on site was also much appreciated. Fabulous stay close to beautiful Lake Forggensee and the castles. Would highly recommend.

Nothing although our room was a little cool so we appreciated a small oil filled heater and extra bedding provided by our host, ensuring our complete comfort.

Good location - close to the city and with a lake right at front where it is possible to swim. Calm and beautiful area. The room was big and super clean. Breakfast was wonderful. When we arrived, the communication was a bit difficult (we don't speak German and they don't speak any English), but we managed and they were very friendly. The owner does speak English, with whom we have a nice and friendly conversation (we met him in our 2nd day). Super recommend!

It’s close to the lake. Walking distance to railway station is around 20 minutes but it’s a nice walk trail. Or you can catch a local bus but weekends will be reduced services. The manager was very hospitable and we had a lengthy friendly conversation. The only thing I found that the mattress is too softer.

The design of the house and breakfast provided sufficient variety to choose from. They provided the self serving coffee tea and refilled water machines.

Super friendly and cosy. Room was clean and looked recently refurbished. Michelle the host was exceptionally friendly with great recommendations for restaurants, local area etc and extremely accommodating to the children fun and engaging also making the the best hot chocolate they ever tasted! We really enjoyed our stay. Highly highly recommended. Being situated on the lake is amazing the walk to the town is only 20mins and it is a lovely walk up the King Ludwig Promenade pedestrian/ cycle way. With stunning views.

Absolutely loved our stay. Book as you will not regret it. Host was truly amazing; informative, attentive and just a very kind person. We ran late to check in he was very responsive with instructions. Breakfast was delicious and a good spread of different options. Impressed that host gets most if not all locally sourced. It’s a beautiful property and really close to castle. We loved the town so much that we are already planning our next visit. Linens were soft, bedding and bed were fantastic. There’s no AC but we didn’t need it as it cooled down at night. Thanks again for being amazing 😻host.

Would love to have better shampoo and conditioner. All in one doesn’t work for ladies.

Very friendly owner. Happy to have a chat and provide you with recommendations. Lake and playground are within 50m walking distance. Nice touch is the free water and coffee/tea. The free chocolates and lollies were probably the highlight for our 3yo.

There are very little dinner options around. There are plenty of restaurants in town, but it’s a 20min walk or short drive.

The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Lovely selection at breakfast and all very tasty. Coffee, tea and water available at all times in the reception area. Rooms were a good size with beautiful views. Comfortable pillows! Nice walk into town. Would happily stay again.

Our room was not in the main house and the heating was off, we didn't know this until we got in after dinner so it was a cold night. The shower ran very hot then cold it was difficult to keep it a constant temperature.

The room was so spacious and perfect for a family of 3 all needing separate beds. The breakfast in the morning was exceptional! Parking was closeby. The best part really was the owner, Michel. He was incredibly kind and friendly with giving us so many recommendations on everything from activities to beer! He also speaks a handful of languages. The property is right on the lake with lovely views and activites very near.

There is a good quality coffee machine avaialble to use at all times, The owner was very helpfulll, even making a special Latte for us on arrival. A good choice of breakfast options, The rooms were very clean. Its location is excellent for visiting the Castle.

The pillows did not work well for us. An optional pillow choice would have been appreaciated.
