⭐ 3.5 stars We weren’t able to stay at our usual hotel in Tepoztlán, so we decided to try something new. Hotel Palacio del Cobre looked promising—close to town, well-reviewed, and with attractive photos. Overall, it was a decent experience, though there’s definitely room for improvement. The Good: Service was friendly and efficient from the start. Our third-floor room was spacious, clean, and had a charming view—definitely worth the stairs if you’re able to manage them, since there’s currently no elevator. The bathroom was also clean and functional.

Room for Improvement: Unfortunately, hot water was almost non-existent on our floor. It took nearly 5 minutes to turn lukewarm, and the water pressure was just a sad trickle. For a hotel aspiring to a higher tier, this really needs fixing—a small investment in a water pressurizer could go a long way. The pool, while unheated, was refreshing on a hot day. But there was loud music playing nonstop all afternoon—even at breakfast. It detracted from the peaceful surroundings and stunning views. A little more quiet would truly elevate the experience. Breakfast itself was minimal: fruit and toast or juice—not both. They do offer à la carte options, but if you’re hungry, you’re probably better off eating elsewhere in town.

Everything was great. Great staff, beautiful location. Best hotel I’ve stayed at ever maybe. I couldn’t believe it. It was my birthday and they treated me so well, even giving me a little carrot cake. Highly recommend.

My only complaint is that the pool area played loud music until after 11:30 and I had to ask them to turn it down. They did immediately, and perhaps they didn’t realize. No big deal. But because the room was stuffy, I needed to have to window open, so it was difficult to get to sleep. However, that was nothing compared to the beauty and grandeur of the place.

We loved our time here. Beautiful setting with gorgeous mountain views all around, great pool that we enjoyed every day, and great room. The place was nicely designed and appointed. Breakfast was great - a plate of fresh fruit with yogurt and granola each morning followed by french toast, pancake or waffle with delicious elegant toppings. Good location. We would certainly stay here again!

Central location, clean and comfortable. Staff were nice and helpful. They let us check in early which was very helpful and on site parking was available. They also let us leave the car there a couple of hours post check out.

The room didn’t have air conditioning. They did have a fan however and given the temperature, it would’ve been better if they had AC.

Courteous, friendly staff; walking distance from all main town sites; beautiful grounds; excellent bed front desk receptionist was very kind and accommodating for my special request - needed a quiet space to take a phone call with the construction at the hotel

there was no hot water in the shower which was disappointing for a hotel of such high quality

The place was beautiful. It had a peaceful and serene atmosphere. It was engulfed in nature with birds chirping throughout the day. The staff went above and beyond to make our already comfortable stay more enjoyable. They served us hot tea at 10 pm during a thunderstorm- it was an amazing experience. The breakfast was also amazing. It was a highlight of my travels in Mexico! I highly recommend it!

There was nothing to dislike.

The view, the breakfast, room and pool are very good and nice

There wasn’t air conditioner The shower ran out of water sometimes There wasn’t Netflix or any other streaming on the TV

The hotel was a calm oasis in a busy village. The staff were considerate and helpful. The rooms were tastefully decorated.

The hotel had only been open two weeks so one or two things needed attention but nothing to take away from the feeling of wellbeing.

The room, staff, breakfast, cleanliness, etc. were great.

The only problem noise - - early in the morning which woke us up - - from the restaurant and the pool which were right outside our room.

It was very well located, 5 min walk to the main plaza, pictured were very much like the real thing. Everything was very new and clean.

rooms are too close to the common areas which it got to be a bit bad because if there is a lot of noise in the common areas you can hear it in the rooms.
