Great breakfast with variety options, a lot of free attractions in the hotel: own cinema, billiards, library, aurora museum, sledging for children, fireplace outside, excellent art gallery
There is rivalry for rooms with aurora view, old facilities and heating system, smell in rooms.

I loved the lodge feel in the communal areas. It was great they had tables and games where we could come together. Being right next to the river super (even though it was frozen) and offering an Aurora wake up call perfect. Also having a fun and good restaurant next door really convenient.
Being far from stores and downtown and unable to walk there due to no sidewalks and no hotel shuttle to take us. Because we were there in winter and not used to snow or ice driving we didn’t want to rent a car and drive. So we spent a lot of money on taxi and Lyfts. And we had a hard time on Super Bowl Sunday even getting a ride. It would really be great if they came up with a shuttle schedule that did airport, downtown and University museum loop a few times a day.

Bungalows are awesome. Car rental now available onsite. Lots of activities available. Aurora viewing, Fire pits and chairs, Aurora theatre, xylophones, Nighttime lighting. Breakfast was good. Pikes landing restaurant/bar was great, try the "Hammertime" when they have it, it's enough for two. Cozy Bungalows!
Lack of outdoor Hot Spring pools/tubs to soak in at night. Please add some soaking space outdoors. Some noise from the fan under the sink. To avoid tracking snow in when entering the bungalow and removing boots, required minor gymnastics.

We loved Cabin 12 - we had a great deck overlooking the river. It was very cozy, with a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker. The staff were very friendly - we asked at the ice cream counter for some plastic forks/knives for our kitchen and he brought us back some plates, bowls, napkins, and cutlery to take back with us. The hotel buffet breakfast was nice - although the hot items did not change daily, there was enough variety to suit anyone (oatmeal, eggs/sausage/potatoes, toast, yogurt, waffles, chicken). Nice facilities and loved the artwork on the walls.
My only complaint was that they had some kind of conference and walled off most of the breakfast room for five days, which made it very hard to find a table at breakfast, which was pretty crowded.

The location was great for us and all the activities we had planned. The breakfasts were good and so convenient to have right there. Loved the cabins and the lobby calling us to let us know when the northern lights were out. The view of the river was awesome even though it was frozen. All the additional buildings, the reindeer pen, sledding, outdoor firewood and seating area, and more gives you things to do while at the lodge. Having Pike’s Landing next door is a plus!
Can’t think of any negatives!

Perfect location as a home base for a few days around Fairbanks. Easy to get to. Cabins were cozy, pleasant and attractive. Nice to have a decent restaurant on site. Great amenities and fun things to explore on the grounds. Pretty views over the frozen river. The grounds were perfectly kept to keep the paths safe from ice and snow, very conscientious. We also enjoyed the cozy main lobby and were appreciative of the 24 hour convenience store there.
No major complaints. Would have liked a way to keep our cabin cleaner since it was so easy to track in salt and gravel from the paths. An extra mat outside the door in addition to the one inside would have been nice, plus a boot tray somewhere, so that melting snow would not make a puddle on the entryway floor. A little whisk broom in the cabin would have been handy so we could sweep things out ourselves. The complimentary breakfast was a bit lackluster and cramped, but the seating areas were really nice.

We loved, loved, loved Pikes!!! My husband and I stayed here, but hope to bring our family, especially our grandchildren here someday. Beautiful property, loved visiting the Reindeer everyday, sitting in the Discovery Center after our dinners at Pike's Landing and just overall pretty family oriented!! And guess what... though there is a bit of light pollution, you can still catch the Aurora on a good night...I just had to use auto correct and the pics were AMAZING!! We would definitely stay here the next time we are here. They also have a fire pit for kids (or adults) to make smores! They have a red light therapy room, fire place on each floor, private cabins, an aurora library with a little theater showing a film on the aurora, and FREE breakfast (we didn't take advantage of that much because we always got back late from our tours and couldn't get up lol)... but I can't say enough good things about this place!! Pretty good value for the price you pay. Downtown fairbanks is just a short drive or Uber away. Attaching photos of the aurora taken AT Pike's on 3/25 in the morning... no enhancements, just auto correct to get rid of the light pollution...it was a most beautiful aurora! Also, everyone at Pike's was so friendly and sweet 😍😊

Pike's describes itself as the friendliest hotel in Fairbanks, and they're right! The staff are absolutely wonderful. The facilities are extensive. There were a number of challenges during our visit (fire in the restaurant, elevator out of service) and the staff did their utmost to keep guests safe and happy. We got wake-up calls when the aurora was out so we could go see it right on the hotel grounds. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The shuttle service to and from the airport was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay there.
The one downside was being given a room right next to the elevator shaft (Room 302) when we had to check in late one night. It was not possible to sleep with the noise of the elevators all night because people arrive on late flights or go out to see the aurora. We were given a quieter room for the rest of our stay, and it was wonderful.

We were assigned one of the small cabins (#15) , which was clean & comfortable. The only irritant was that to open the refrigerator door in the mini- kitchen, you had to open the room door (!), letting in the freezing temperatures outside ! Otherwise, the room was ok. We did have a multi- unit fire pit outside our room. They do also offer a wake-up call if the northern lights appear. They also have a free shuttle bus to the nearby airport.
It was a bit of a walk through ice, snow & freezing temps to get to our cabin, which was furthest away from the main building lobby. I wouldn’t want any elderly people trying to make that long walk through packed snow and ice. The food and drinks at the restaurant were ok, but a little on the pricey side. There aren’t any other options, food & drink-wise , you can get to within walking distance. We did use food delivery services for dinner to cut costs. Breakfast was free and OK, but get there early for the best selection. We also Ubered into town a couple times to see the downtown area ( not worth it, downtown is dead in the winter) and to the Fairbanks Costco, where the prices were literally the same as the lower 48, which was a pleasant surprise.

The location was great, right on the river and very near the airport. The staff was very friendly and the Alaskan granny core vibe was fun. We live in Alaska but for folks visiting for the first time, this seemed to be a place that offered a lot of activities and even a car rental counter. The restaurant was closed when we were there but the breakfast buffet was included and good for what one would typically expect in an American hotel.
One thing that kind of bothered me were the signs for tips in the restaurant and the room. I am not anti-tipping for service, I used to wait tables myself when I was younger. Respect to those that work in the service industry is high. But asking for tips for a self-service buffet with paper plates and plastic forks does not feel like a tipping situation. And the cleaning staff was so friendly and did stop by and ask if I needed anything every day. A cleaning supervisor also checked on us daily. However, the policy is to clean every four days, so staying for two days and not needing anything also did not feel like a tipping situation. The one other less that optimum thing was the mattress. Love the granny vibe but the older spring mattress I could have done without.
