Small scale, high quality experience with personable service. A true reset of what matters and is essential to life, good ingredients and wine, great food, interiors and conversation, little traffic, and a few people in a fantastic landscape - giving time for thinking what is important in life. Reminded us of staying with good friends and of the best of experiences across the world. We stayed in October 2025 and look forward to staying longer in spring time - to see everything in a different light. Originally the residence of a Bishop, and then a convent, we liked the way the owners are in the process of adapting the building and its surrounding grounds into an ‘agritourism’ home from home.

We liked everything - what we can imagine others might not like the fact that there isn’t the omnipresent television in the bedroom, and the outdoor pool is unheated, moving with the natural temperatures of the time of year, and more reminiscent of the sea and lakes.

A beautiful villa, slightly hidden, which adds to its boutique magic, but uniquely placed to give a view of the surrounding hills and villages on the edge of Lucca. It's hard to describe how a true gemstone of a find this. It's perfect in every way from the personal meet and greet upon arrival, to the way you are made to feel special, exclusive, and an important guest by the hosts and staff. The whole ambience is one of calmness, of relaxation, of contemplation. It has an energy and ambience that combines and connects organic nature, wildlife, flora & fauna, respecting a healthy balance of mutual coexistence set in its own private grounds with olive groves and vineyards, herb and vegetable gardens. The chef prepares excellent food that feels, looks and tastes of fine dining, yet nothing is pretentious, just genuine, local, authentic, warm friendship and hospitality done on a human level, amongst family and friends. Stop the clock for a while, press pause, unwind, and enjoy a small piece of what will feel like a treasure trove in the woods you will want to keep a secret for yourself.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We spent 2 nights at Tenuta di Tramonte for our wedding anniversary and it was absolutely magical! From the first moment, we felt the warm family atmosphere that makes this place so special. The property is breathtakingly beautiful with a stunning crystal-clear natural pool surrounded by gorgeous Tuscan landscape. The staff went above and beyond to make our celebration memorable. Chef Felipe's organic cuisine is outstanding - every meal was divine, featuring the freshest local and seasonal ingredients. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the entire property radiates peace and elegance. This is what a boutique hotel should be - intimate, authentic, and unforgettable. We're already planning our return! Highly recommended for anyone seeking a truly special experience in Tuscany.

Nothing - it was perfect!

An incredibly charming hotel, secluded within the hills, which allows you to have privacy with an incredible view! Fully surrounded by nature with a tranquil movie-like atmosphere that makes you feel incredibly relaxed. The rooms are incredibly beautiful. Classic Italian villa( that was a church in the 17th century) with a modern eclectic design! A gorgeous natural pool from the natural spring and natural filter system( plants ). Delicious food and simply a hidden gem 20 min away from the city centre of Lucca! Absolutely magical with a very friendly and helpful staff!

The water in the shower doesn’t always have enough pressure, or possibly water and can not work simultaneously in many rooms I guess , when people from different rooms use showers. You have to pre-boom your lunch and dinner up to a certain time of the day

Everything, our stay was perfect. The team are wonderful, warm and welcoming. The building is bright and airy, but still holds some wonderful history and charm. The celebration of nature with the stunning outdoor pool, use of local produce and home grown vegetables is lovely. The food was delicious, thank you for the chefs! Overall a wonderful relaxing experience and we will be back for a longer stay soon!

There are a lot of mosquitos. We were only there one night and got a lot of bites. Next time we will be more than prepared because the stay is worth it!

Lorenzo and Laurence’s hotel is very special and unique. It feels very intimate and all the staff were so helpful and friendly. The property is gorgeous, the decor is very tasteful and they have thought of everything. The spring-fed pool is incredible, I would return just for that! Dinner was a set menu, with most produce from the garden - it was absolutely delicious and sitting on the patio at the front of the house with an incredible Tuscan view was hard to beat. Breakfast was delightful, local cheeses and meats, fruit, yoghurt, bread and homemade jams. Very tasty eggs with chard from the garden - and a lovely chef who we chatted to at the (beautiful) kitchen door. Our room was large with a comfy bed and incredible view at the front of the house. The bathroom was massive with a big bath and powerful shower, and lovely olive oil products. They provided a large cot for our 2 year old son - who they treated like a king! I would recommend this hotel to anybody wanting somewhere very special to stay with personal touches, great food and drink, perfect views and lovely people.

We only stayed one night at Tenuta di Tramonte Boutique Hotel, but we truly wish we had stayed longer. Lorenzo was incredibly welcoming and communicative, making us feel right at home—as if we were part of his family. The estate itself is beautiful, producing its own wine and olive oil, and the garden provides fresh ingredients for the delicious meals served at the restaurant. It’s a perfect stop for visiting Lucca and Pisa, and we will definitely be back!

We just wish the weather had been better so we could have enjoyed the stunning swimming pool even more.

It‘s a magical place, you feel like being part of a fairy tale. The rooms are super luxurious, the bed and the duvet are the best we ever had in Italy. The furniture and the decoration is super elegant, the views breathtaking. The owners are super super nice and welcoming. With only 7 rooms on the property it feels private and exclusive. Some of the main sights (Villa Reale etc.) are nearby, Lucca is easily reachable by car.

Everything was Perfect

We had a fabulous time at this beautiful hotel. It started with the friendly host Lorenzo who not only gave us a detail tour of the amazing ground/facility but allowed us to check in early. The room is so spacious and graceful designed with the mix of Italian antique and contemporary art. The luxury is in the details and we loved the artistic toiletries. The view from the room is simply beautiful and Tuscan landscape. Although we did not have dinner in the hotel, the dinner setting is romantic and full of charm. To top all of this on the list is the laundry. We had been traveling the whole week all over Tuscany. So it was such a treat we got to do our laundry here. From an American who had lived in Europe before and had been to Tuscany 7 times, I am say this is one of our top choice of hotel.

Everything about Lorenzo and Laurence’s home was magical! We were welcomed so warmly and enjoyed the most wonderful 3 days at this amazing hotel - it’s truly more than a hotel it’s a home .. the ethos of Tenuta di Tramonte means you will be able to truly switch off; enjoy fresh home made meals and soak up the beauty that surrounds this magical place. Thank you for your hospitality; We will be back!!
