The food was really good, we had evening meal and breakfast. Facilities in the room were fine and the water was super hot in the bath and shower, which was great. The bedroom was very quirky design wise, but very nice though.

The heating could have been a bit warmer but we did stay during a really cold spell. I think it might have been centrally controlled as went off late evening and not back on until the morning. Could have been a bit warmer though.

Breakfast very good, lovely dining room and very attentive staff''. I did not dine at the hotel - I visited friends who live within walking distance of Statham Lodge. Looking out at the gardens is nice, even in the winter! Bedroom adequate for my own needs - one night stay only - very clean, tidy, quiet and comfortable. Furniture rather basic though, with only two small shallow drawers, (apart from two small 'box like' drawers as part of the bed head) in a small dressing table and limited wardrobe accommodation. There would not be enough clothes storage space were more than one person to occupy the room, or one person for any length of time. Only one chair too and no real work-surface except for the top of the dressing table. Bathroom standard was excellent as regards facilities and cleanliness. Such a relief to be sure of easy parking arrangements!

Nothing really, but see the comments above. I used to live in Lymm and have visited Statham Lodge on a number of occasions over the years for various events eg the Stephen Hough concert as part of Lymm Festival, wedding receptions and meetings and as a Blood Donor in the past too(!). I've eaten there a number of years ago - very nice - and enjoyed informal refreshments too.

Very grand residence from yesteryear. Modernised and comfortable to keep its olde worlde charm. Lovely grounds and lawns. Bar a little limited and pricey. Nothing wrong with breakfast but not exceptional. Reception staff all did an excellent job. We spent limited amount of time in the hotel. Local area lovely: we walked into Lymm and back via roads, trans penine trail and the canal. Visited National Trust Dunham Massey which is beautiful.

Not a problem for us but a lift was not obvious.

The bedding was crisp and clean. The room was spacious enough for our one night stay. It was perfect for a break from a long drive. The evening was spent in the lounge / dining room. We had a bite to eat and played a board game (brought with us). Breakfast was substantial.

The varnish used on the tables in the lounge made it feel super sticky, even after wiping them down with detergent.

The staff were a mix of ages and worked well together. The dinner we enjoyed was a delicious chicken curry and breakfast had fresh fruit with a good choice of main course. The super kingsize bed was very comfortable. The hotel had an interesting history, family owned for 60 years with a charming story from the Georgian period. We would certainly go again.

Nice place with loads of parking - we were on the ground floor by the car park and handed our bags through the window so that was easy ☺️ Room clean, large comfortable bed, tea and coffee. (No near plug for kettle so had to put on floor to boil water) Staff pleasant, there was a wedding on so they were a little slow with bar and food service but did apologise several times and it was fine with us. Dinner was really tasty, didn't have breakfast.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was good. Bathroom was recently refurbished and clean. Breakfast was good.

Bathroom lacked anywhere to store things. No shelves for toiletries, no towel rail to hang towels apart from a cage above the toilet that my wife couldn't reach. Hooks on the door where also too high for my wife. Breakfast lacked variety of fruit and the mushrooms changed from button to field which meant they were soggy instead of firm.

The setting and the fact that they had kept the old style.

The service in the restaurant was very slow, the first night one man doing everything. Bar, taking orders!, serving and clearing tables. The second night, more staff but still very, very slow. In fact, I cancelled my dessert as I had waited over half an hour.

Comfortable room, well equipped. Beautiful grounds and attractive looking hotel. Very good dinner and breakfast Good location in the countryside close to Lyme

No hairdryer in room - had to ask for it which is apparently the norm in this hotel - reception brought it to the room very quickly but I waited with wet hair for it to arrive

Location - close to main motorway but quiet. Beautiful gardens and building. Great staff, friendly and helpful. Beds were so comfy- good pillows and mattress. Bedroom radiator didn’t turn off- covered it up with towels- receptionist suggestion- and worked well at stopping heat, we were also given a fan and iced water. Stayed here last year on way to Cornwall from Inverness, this time on way to visit family member in Wales, and will stay again.

Only a very minor issue- A bit of a wait for breakfast-but they were busy- we should have gone down a bit earlier as we were a bit limited for time. It was good. I’m gluten intolerant and they did gf toast, which was good.
