Great property and best location for exploring Nara. The room was outstanding as well as the dinner: we had one tepanyaki and one kaiseki dinner: among the best food we had in Japan!

The communication with the hotel before arriving was quite difficult. Also the flexibility of staff when leaving earlier and having a breakfast was not to our best satisfaction: for a property with this ambitions and price level the requests of the clients should be key, especially if the requests are not out of range.

The hotel was amazing with rooms with private hot spring. Room was luxurious and super comfortable. Most staff was very courteous and friendly

The kaiseki dinner could be improved. The form is there for sure but the taste of food and the food supplies used could be improved. My friend has allergies and therefore special modified menu had been served to her which the hotel knew in advance. However when we arrived at our meals the paper menu shown to her was not changed so we were confused if she was going to eat the food she cannot have. It's just the small attention to details which I feel a hotel like fufu should have paid attention to. Also checking out seemed a bit chaotic, our checkout person disappeared for a while and then someone different took over.

I must give the restaurant a high light. We had blowfish meal on the first night and it’s fantastic. Every dish is made with quality ingredients and mixed magically in harmony. Breakfast is also excellent. Very well made. Osen bathtub is perfect. Roomy and relaxing. Shower gel etc are good quality. Room is big and well designed. Bed is comfortable. Staffs are friendly and helpful. The location is excellent. Easy access to temple and deer park.

If you’re not a fan of strict breakfast and lunch times, you won’t enjoy the ryokan experience- bookings must be made ahead and the menus are fixed. Besides that the place is incredible!

We had been this hotel before and our room was fine. Even this time, our sons’ room are perfectly fine too. Just our room filled with kind bad disgusting smell. We only stay one night and didn’t bother to switch but we should.

Exquisitely appointed. Impeccable service and friendly staff. As one would expect in Japan.

Nothing to dislike. A few hanging hooks would help, but I now understand that it just isn’t Japanese to leave one’s things hanging about.

Everything. The grounds were splendid, the room was splendid, the hospitality amazing, service impeccable.

Incredible modern kaiseki dining experience, beautiful room with very comfortable beds, and an amazing setting with our in-room onsen looking out at the bamboo garden. Our experience here was top-notch and worth every penny. Would not hesitate to stay here again on our next visit to Japan.
