Was okay but a nightmare for me as I had leave early because there was only only one coach for me to get home. So I lost a few days. Bed was very comfortable and my room was clean and was close to shops and town. I would stay again and should be back this month :) cleaner seemed nice enough and the guy i met who let me in the property was also nice so thank you guys :)

Price is great, and the rooms are large. I often stay in London and there's a big difference in space! Room was lovely and warm, staff were friendly and the place is easy enough to access. Dropping in to see family and we needed a cheap place to stay, this place was perfect for that. For the price you can't knock what you get.
The room we were staying in had a problem with the lock, it was alright when we figured the trick with it but we could have done with the heads up about it. Similarly, the shower dials turn in the opposite way to eachother, again not much of an issue when we'd worked it out, but having the heads up would have been good.

Room was well maintained and very comfortable. The hotel is located a short walk from the town centre and was easy to find. Contacting the staff as I always arrive late in the evening was an easy process, gaining access to the property and receiving the keys was an easy process, but if you don't have a mobile phone this could be a problem.
The black out blinds did not erase the street light, and as I am not used to bright light during the night I found it difficult to get to sleep. I would ask for a room at the rear of the property next time. Parking is a big issue around this property especially if you leave later than I did in the morning and arrive earlier in the evening.

The room, upgraded from a single to a double, was clean, warm and comfortable. It’s a basic hotel, but represents very good value for money.
Check in was a bit odd, but wasn’t a problem, so long as you have a working mobile phone. If you do and call the number on the door, entry instructions are sms’d to you. I actually didn’t see any staff all the time I was there. Again, that wasn’t a problem, just not what you’d ordinarily expect when staying at a hotel.

The room had been freshly decorated and new carpets. The room near mine were also being done. The staff where very friendly and helpful. A lot of people only stayed a night or to. The hotel is near the bus stops to other place as is the train station. I will stay there again
So of the people staying wasn't very quiet at night. I did report the noise as it was after 11pm and went on for a while. I told the owner the next morning and he said I should have phoned him and he would have come round.

Good quality basic very clean single room with attached loo and shower room. Room also included a kettle, a wall mounted TV, Desk and Wardrobe. Towels and toiletries were provided - including (and this is worth mentioning) decent quality loo rolls. Its also worth mentioning that the cleaning staff let me have a peek into the larger rooms and I have to say they look pretty impressive, with some having full bathrooms. Once you are checked in, you are given the front door codes and your room key and are then pretty much left to your own devices. What I particularly liked was that the room keys were the Mult-T-Lok brand, which is one of the highest standards of security one can get. The hotel is conveniently located on a busy main road about 15 minutes walk in a fairly straight line from Hartlepool station. There is an onsite bistro, but there were no food facilities available, as no doubt like many small hotels, they are still recovering from the pandemic. However, The Middleton Grange Shopping Centre is nearby and there are plenty of takeaways and eateries in the area where one can get food. I particularly reccomend the Arab Street Food place about 5 minutes walk away. I did not have a car with me - and really did not need one. The Bus services run be Stagecoach and Arriva are pretty amazing and enabled me to travel round the area taking in Stockton, Billingham, Middleborough and Durham. I reccomend downloading the Stagecoach and Arriva bus apps on which you can buy daily tickets for about £8.00 which gives you unlimited travel at any time. remember tough, each company's pass is not accepted on their rival's. Having said that, most days I stuck with the Stagecoach one as their 36 bus runs every 15 minutes from Hartlepool to Middlesborough, stopping at all the pretty villages in between. Stagecoach also run the fastest bus route to and from Durham, which can be picked up at the railway station. Their day pass cost me £6.00.
The shower unit was a bit eccentric, going from scalding hot to cold at regular intervals. I eventually managed to get it to a decent temperature, but I suspect the unit needs changing as its a bit old. The other thing to bear in mind is that this is a old English hotel, so it does not have as many plug sockets as newer places. Therefore you will need to do a bit of chopping and changing to ensure all your devices are fully charged. As I say, perfectly understandable in a hotel of this age.

It is a very good hotel in general and the people who run the hotel are incredibly nice and respectful. I thank them very much. Very clean, quiet and comfortable place, in a shopping and eating center

Helpful & accomdating staff, flexible with check-in times etc. Excellent value for money. Single room was upgraded. One of us guests had a fabulous nights stay. Clean & comfy rooms with everything you need provided.
We didn't get any sleep, ground floor room right on the main street, the traffic could have been in the room with us & we couldn't close the windows due to the heat & height ( no pole etc if we had decided to ). I'd suggest investing in a fan & a way to close the windows - just for that room, your guests will get a better night's sleep.

Having never been to Hartlepool we stopped off while traveling up the East coast. I wouldn't exactly recommend it as a holiday location! However, the room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed, including a fridge which was really useful. The owner was helpful and friendly and it was the best value hotel we stayed in.

Nice big room, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and very accommodating.would recommend if your looking for a quiet comfortable and well priced place to stay.
Only downside is no parking through the day as its in a residential parking zone 8am till 6pm Mon sat we got a ticket but its only 25 pound if paid early not the hotels fault but something to be aware of.
