The hotel was placed in a very convenient location to explore the best areas of the Cotswold. We had a "garden room" which was very convenient to come and go as we pleased (as the pub shuts after a certain time of the day with restricted access to certain rooms) and it was super quiet, despite being one of the busiest period of the year (Easter). The king size bed was very comfy, the bathroom had double sinks and a big shower/ bath. Breakfast was served a la carte (no buffet) but it was very tasty! We had both English and Continental breakfast options and both were very good! Ample parking, very friendly and helpful staff, cozy pub / conservatory area. Overall a very positive stay. :)

Regulating the temperature of the hot water in the bath / shower took some adjustment, but got there in the end! :) Minor light bleeding through the curtain, but that did not cause major issues.

Well insulated, nicely decorated garden rooms, friendly staff. Beatiful garden, convenient location for our overnight stop on the way up to Yorkshire. Lovely short walks through the village and surrounding countryside. Good breakfast with informal relaxed atmosphere, combination of self service drinks and served meals.

Could have been more attention to detail in the restaurant for dinner - steak ordered rare came out medium, fries missed off the mussels dish (but this was quickly rectified). Venison ragu was delicious but could have been paired with a more interesting pasta shape than penne to make it more special. However, it was nice to see enthusiastic young people working together to create a friendly atmosphere.

Lovely old inn beautifully decorated. The village is small and quiet. Our room was fabulous - a little dusty, but it is an old building!! Bathroom was great with a lovely freestanding tub which was very much enjoyed. Parking at the back in the lovely gardens. The landlady was super helpful and made us feel very welcome. We had breakfast both mornings which was delicious and we also ate there both nights, again the food was really tasty.

We had a courtyard room which was beautifully decorated and super comfortable. Breakfast here was superb, cooked to order with some unique choices. A real pity that, during our stay, the dinner menu was curtailed due to staff shortages in the kitchen. Staff were excellent however, extremely accommodating. The Inn is in a very quiet location; not a lot going on but you're within striking distance to nearby Cotswold villages and Oxford.

In our room, the toilet seat didn't fit the bowl so it kept jolting. It's a tiny grumble but it could be addressed. There really wasn't anything I didn't like. Would be nice to return when the full dinner menu is available. I imagine that would be spectacular!

I booked a disabled access room. Very easy with a wheel chair bound person. Parking near the room so good for carrying in equipment. Wet room was of a good standard. The breakfasts are very good. Good pub food. Really liked the fish and chips. The staff were very friendly and helpful A very relaxing break. If you are travelling with a disabled person this place is barrier free.

Our room was clean but could have done with a dust in places.

This was one of the loveliest breaks my daughter and I have ever experienced. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed like long lost friends. Mattie is amazing, she made us feel like family. The room off the garden was ideal for us and our three dogs who were warmly welcomed too. The room is well appointed and homely with a wonderful bathroom suitable for a variety of needs. Extremely comfortable. The breakfasts and dinner were superb.

Absolutely nothing - one tiny little suggestion. A small soft runner headboard would be very helpful and aid comfort when sitting up to watch TV.

Wonderful room. Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed. Decent amount of hangars. Good quality toiletries. Nespresso machine in the room. Good wifi. Very friendly and attentive staff. Great restaurant, with an excellent breakfast. The restaurant has a collection of very cool framed record album covers on the wall - a highlight (for me) amongst some classic gems being PWEI’s “Karmadrome” 12” single cover: very, very cool 😎

I stayed in a garden room which was lovely especially because of the weather and had a little patio area with table and chairs. I ate in the restaurant on the night of my stay and the food was very good.

The service at breakfast left a lot to be desired. The food was faultless and very enjoyable but I sat for 10+ minutes waiting for attention from the guy who appeared to be in charge and who'd seen me walk in, told me where I could sit and then promptly disappeared. I had to go and ask for attention and a menu. When my continental breakfast was ready, ie the chef rang his bell for service, no one came. I was about to go and get it from the bar myself when the chef realised no one was coming and he served it himself. The restaurant was not busy and other patrons were similarly kept waiting. I did wonder if the staff and manager were new. There was no signage advising guests of the process and no one to ask.

Lovely staff, lovely quirky pub and decor in room. Quiet location, breakfast excellent. Lovely cocktails in pub. Comfy bed. Big bath. Excellent beer garden in the sunshine. Lovely biscuits left in room with nespresso machine and kettle. I arrived an hour early, planning to sit in the pub and do some work but my room was ready!

Bedroom could have been cleaner - cobwebs and dirty floor, didn’t ruin the trip at all but could have been a bit more attention to detail.

We stayed at the George Inn for a few nights and it was a very comfortable and friendly stay! We’re very glad that we chose to dine in for Sunday lunch as it was exceptional, and the breakfast during our stay was absolutely top notch too. The staff were so accommodating and welcoming, they really did go to all efforts to ensure we had a lovely stay. There is plenty to see and do in the area, we went to Blenheim Palace, Bicester Village, Daylesford Farm, Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford and more! Overall a wonderful stay, and we look forward to rebooking!
