Excellent location. The Santander bus station is right across from the hotel, and the train station is actually in the same building. The hotel also operates one of the best bar-restaurants in the area, so you get an all-in-one package. All local buses stop just across the street, and intercity buses like ALSA make it easy to reach nearby cities. (Tip: the bus station’s -2 floor has spacious luggage storage lockers, only €4 per day.)

The overhead shower worked well, but the handheld shower wasn’t functioning. It wasn’t really necessary for us, so it wasn’t an issue.

Some of the staff in the bar cafe were not as friendly. For example, I was simply inquiring if there was a baggage store in or near the hostel. The guy behind the bar was rude and cut me off before I'd finished the question. I don't know whether they get people taking liberties often but I just wanted information. If you want to know :) there's a wonderful baggage store opposite downstairs in the bus station €4. Very useful.

The sleeping pods with curtains give a lot more privacy than normal bunks. Has light and power outlet for charging. Nice and quiet. The lounge area was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was good, excellent coffee and a sweet croissant or similar.

Fridge not working in the lounge area, so drinking warm beer. Shower is excellent once the hot water reaches the head, like the sign says, give it a couple of minutes before you get in. No where to put clothes while showering. Small niggles, don't let it put you off. Excellent for the small cost.

The breakfast is great! Staff are very helpful, even allowed us to keep our bags in our lockers after check-out since no one was coming in after us as an exception and trusted us with the keys for a few hours until it was time to catch our train back home. Although I believe it wouldn't be feasible for them to do this with everyone, we felt very grateful that they even gave us this option.

Noisy roommates well past bedtime, who also turned on the main lights in the room while everyone else was asleep. However it had nothing to do with the place itself or the staff at all. Just the luck of the draw you have to deal with when sleeping at a hostel.

It’s true, I don’t have a great deal of experience with hostels but this one is fantastic! Comfortable beds attached to the wall. Clean cotton sheets. Privacy curtain. Air conditioned. A small shelf with an electrical outlet. Large comfortable common area. Use of a kitchen. Best of all; the cafe! Breakfast is served in the attached cafe. Tortilla, croissant, chocolate pastry thing coffee/tea: your choice. I had a wonderful sandwich upon arrival. If I were staying longer I would definitely have dinner here as well. I hope to find other hostels as wonderful as I continue on the Camino del Norte.

The bathroom needs more hooks for each shower.

Literally seconds away from the bus and rail stations, but still quiet and close enough for a stroll to the centre of town. The place is spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Great bar/restaurant at the front. If you’re in Santander on a budget, you should certainly try Hostel & Co.

Nothing. Exceeded my expectations tbh.

• This is probably one of my most favorite hostels I've ever stayed at. Let's start with the location. It is in an old bus station terminal. The husband and wife own the restaurant in the front and the hostel in the back / on the side. You can enter the Hostel either through the restaurant or around the left side; there is a door where you can enter / check in. I'd go around to the side if the restaurant is full, or, during peak dining times. • Bathrooms were massive! 4 showers, multiple urinals, toilets and sinks in the men's. I read a review that said the hot water didn't work, I found this to be untrue. I used 3 different stalls while I was there and hot water wasn't an issue. It does take 20 to 40 seconds to heat up though. • Bedrooms were all vaulted ceilings, fresh paint, amazing beds, super comfy with a privacy screen / curtain. Each room had air conditioning and functional power outlets. Rooms were cleaned daily by the staff. Each bed has two lockers, one under the bed (massive) and one on the wall (smaller). Both have keys and locks provided by the hostel. • Kitchen and recreation area is a good size and the refrigerators for food storage are quite large (2). Definitely eat at the restaurant when you stay here. Cannot speak highly enough of these amazing people and there establishment.

Internet didn't work in the rooms was the only downside. It does work in the common / recreation areas though. So you can download movies, work, study or plan your day from there.

Comfortable bed, perfect location - right at the train/bus station, walking distance to city center and the boat to Somo.

The kitchen could be equipped a little better - I was missing some simple mugs for making my own tea. I was glad the electric kettle was there though. However, one of the staff members was kind enought to bring me a mug from adjacent restaurant.

Clean, comfortable and staff are friendly. They provide you with sheets and blanket as well as keys for under bed storage and a locker. Spare toiletries in the bathroom - maybe left from others previously but useful if you're in a pinch. Location is good - supermrcado, farmicia and kebab shop all in vicinity

WiFi is very poor which is a shame. Make sure you are equipped with some Spanish to understand and communicate or have Google translate at the ready. Remember you have to adapt to another culture and language.

The room was clean, with big lockers and curtains for each bed. The bathroom was big and there is a bar next to the hostel.

The fact that you have to leave the hostel for the cleaning, which is common in that area, is a little uncomfortable. The bathroom wasn't always clean. It is located by the bus station, so there's weird people around.
