In the text there are typos that I couldn’t fix..(capital letters and such …) . My apology. The staff is AMAZING The location is absolutely fantastic. A few steps from the beach, the Main Street , all the shopping areas, local supermarkets ect . The property is gorgeous, the pool area , lobby. The fact that there is a little store inside the hotel is lovely. About the room it will be discussed later.

The room. The pictures on booking.com are VERY misleading. It shows a kitchen, lots of Cupboards so you may think that their is a full kitchen and tools. There is a microwave and a little fridge, but don’t get confused , there is no kitchen. There is no stove, and all the beautiful cupboards are absolutely empty. So the pictures are miss leading. We got a very small room without even one chair so my I got two chairs. We arrived on a Friday, the ceiling fan didn’t work. We got the fan replaced the Wednesday the week after, a day before check out. This is after I needed to remind the staff three times. The bed is a double size, not even Queen and the mattress, in our view , was very uncomfortable. The room is average.

We stayed at the Palms twice during our spring break trip to Costa Rica, and we couldn't rate it more highly. The staff, food, rooms and location were all great, and the pool area is fabulous. There is a shop onsite. All staff went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The king room on the second floor was especially comfortable, and we enjoyed watching the nightly football games played across the street from our balcony. The hotel is safe, and Coco itself is a great place to base yourself if you are looking for a quiet beach town with a bit of shopping and a good atmosphere. The Palms is a little hotel about 50 meters from the beach and about 50 meters from the main strip in the other direction - the perfect location! The area is lively, plenty of shops, bars, restaurants, anything you want to do while on vacation. It is safe to walk around after dark - which happens here around 6:30 pm The best thing about the place is the crew!! The guys at check-in - Louis and Steven - went above and beyond to take care of the guests, making sure everything was to our liking. ( we needed to change rooms- it took all but 5 minutes!) Helpful, kind, polite, efficient, and always smiling! They made me feel like I was just simply visiting some long lost relatives There is entertainment every night - Bingo, Karaoke, Singers, we even had a Murder mystery play we acted out - it was so much fun! The organizer was the owner lady, who was welcoming and enjoying all her guests The pool is spectacular, surrounded by palm trees, chairs - and of course, the bar is not far off to the side. There is a restaurant on the premises with yummy food- this is where you eat your breakfast, which is included in the price. Everything is clean and fresh, you can get pool towels from the front desk, and exchange them as needed. If you need a cab, just ask the guys at the front, but Uber also runs if you prefer that. ( Cab to the airport is $50)

The property itself could use a little love ; there are some TINY budget rooms ( and I mean reaaaaaally tiny !) and of course, larger ones as well. It wasn't size, that bothered me so much, as the lack of shelves and surfaces to put things on in that small room. The beds are comfortable, and there is AC in the rooms. The breakfast selection is good for a couple of days, but if you stay longer, you will get tired of it. Don't be surprised if you have some 'visitors' we saw some big cockroaches and even a scorpion!

Really loved The Palm! Staff was beyond courteous and friendly. From Luis, Stevie at check-in, to the office manager Zaida (sorry if I misspelled), the restaurant staff is excellent too, especially one of the waiters who's name I forgot ("Jean"-something, sorry! With the tattoos). My room took a few hours after check-in to be ready, but I understand working in the industry myself. The staff was more than friendly to accommodate my wait, offered me drinks, which was not needed but appreciated. The pool area is so chill, I did not expect to spend as much time as I did there. Didn't even dip in, it's just a nice atmosphere with relaxed restaurant staff. The restaurant menu was also excellent, a mix of American and Costa Rican fair. I will definitely be back at The Palm if I come back to Coco.

I loved everything! Two small comments though, if you store luggage for guests and have to leave the desk unattended for a moderate period, please at least close the door the luggage is in. My suitcase was just visibly peeking out of the storage door with an unattended desk for 10-15min. Just a small constructive comment. Also, my room was great, but the connecting door was very thin. Perhaps bolster a bit up since it doesn't open anyways. It was easy to hear the neighbors (luckily the were quiet people to begin with)

The pool was the best pool out of our entire trip. Long enough to actually swim in and very clean with a great area with lounge chairs. The staff was friendly and professional.

I would have liked to have had a sitting area outside my room or even a place to sit in my room other than the bed. We were in a basis room and next time I stay there I would upgrade to a room with a balcony. It would be worth the extra cost.

Location great - very close to beach. Beautiful pool area and good restaurant (free breakfast). Pool table, bar, karaoke (loud though). Friendly staff. Not too busy during our stay (weekdays).

Standard double room was tiny! Bed against one way with maybe 4ft clearance to other walls. Closet was a wicker stand. Pros: bathroom fine, small balcony useful for drying towels, had a small fridge. Some of our group were booked in rooms with 2 double beds and kitchenette - these are much larger, definitely worth the smallish difference in price.

Location was great. Close to the beach and the main strip of restaurants. The pool was fantastic and a refreshing oasis to spend an hour or two at after busy days. Rooms were small but functional, and we didn't spend much time in them.

Many of the rooms are very close to the open restaurant/pool area where they have lots of evening events (trivia, open mic nights etc). This was a bit loud but never went late so we didn't really mind although others might have.

When we arrived, there had been a mistake with our reservation; we did not have a room waiting for us. Steven at the front desk was wonderful. He called around and was able to get us a room for thge same cost at a similiar type of hotel. He even arranged for us to have an upgraded room at no extra cost, as well as free transportation to the new hotel. We did not need it as we had our own car, but it was most kind of Steven to make sure our needs were considered. Thank you much.

The location of this property was perfect as it was near the beach and all the restaurants. We were able to walk to everything in town easily. The hotel staff was friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast that was included was a beautiful bonus to staying on property. We also loved the options of happy hour daily. The pool was very clean and we used it every day of our stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel for staying in Play del Coco.

Room was very clean and comfortable - had everything you’d need. Outdoor space - the pool, loungers, bar & restaurant and pool table - is fantastic. Really beautiful. Location is perfect for the beach and the main street of the town, so great access to shopping and restaurants.

We had an issue with the air con in our room - it stopped working a couple of times. However, this was fixed very quickly both times by the friendly and professional staff - so it wasn’t really much of a problem.
