Breakfast was very good. Hotel in a good position with lots of parking. Large room with comfortable bed.
When a large group of golfers having breakfast several items on breakfast buffet had run out. Although room very big, bathroom small, no where other than shower tray to put shampoo etc .... No teaspoons or biscuits with kettle and tea making tray which you would expect considering price paid. Only one lot of two cans of water despite staying for four nights.

The hotel has become almost a home from home for us, and, our dogs. The staff are always super friendly towards the dogs. It's perfect for our needs, too, as we usually are attending gigs at Backstage at The Green. Jock's Bar provides typical pub grub at a reasonable price, again, it's dog friendly ( ours are pretty laid back )! Yes, the dog friendly rooms might be a bit tired, but, they are spacious, clean and functional for our needs. We cannot comment on the other rooms, obviously. A dog bowl is provided, too, so, it's a nice touch. Breakfast is buffet style, with a decent choice of continental, and cooked food, to cover most people's requirements. We always enjoy the cooked option, good sausages and bacon, yummy! We find the hotel room pricing to be excellent value for your money. And, it's a little mini-break for us, as, we have a two hundred mile round trip every time we stay overnight.
Really, there's very little to complain about! For our needs, the dog friendly rooms are great, others may differ in their opinions! In actual fact, the only thing to complain about, this time, was the tea at breakfast! It seemed to have a slight metallic taste, which, unfortunately, we both found unpleasant. We just enjoyed another glass of fruit juice and didn't raise the issue with the member of staff.

I have used this hotel on a number of occasions. Reception staff are very pleasant, efficient and informative on check in. Bedroom was very spacious, light and airy. Bathroon was well equipped with bath, shower, large towels and toiletries. Dinner was in Jocks Bar where the food is good and reasonable. Breakfast is usually buffet service, but on this morning was cooked to order. Portions are always good. In all, a very good base for exploring Fife and its coastline and is close to Perth, but a short distance back to relax in the evening.
Nothing to dislike really.

We have stayed here, at The Green Hotel, on many occasions because they are completely dog friendly! This time, though, we had our newest addition with us, a fifteen week old puppy. The staff were delighted to meet him, of course! The fact that you can enjoy food and drink, in Jock's Bar, is another bonus for us! We attend music gigs, at Backstage at The Green Hotel, and, this is definitely a win win situation. We're even able to take the dogs to the bar for aftershow drinks, and, to meet the band!
Unfortunately, this time, the hotel was extremely busy and were unable to accommodate us for a bar supper (in time for the gig)! However, there are several local takeaways that were recommended by the staff, thanks! The heating seemed to be on full in the room. And, as such, meant our two dogs were panting in the middle of the night. But, again, we just opened the window to help with the airflow. Two pretty minor grumbles, and, considering our previous experiences they were not the norm. And, we'll be back again, soon!

The staff. Very respectful and accommodating. I didn’t sleep very well in the first room allocated to me as the security lights were being triggered. I explained to a lovely front of house receptionist Lewis who arranged another room without any fuss or hesitation. All of the staff from bar staff attached to ‘The back of the green hotel’, an intimate venue for gigs and other entertainment, were so nice, fun and friendly whilst remaining professional at all times. Sorry I’ve forgotten your names girls! The night receptionist another Lewis was so nice too. Nothing was too much bother for him. The breakfast staff were conscientious, seating you comfortably and providing hot beverages. The room attendants were very respectful of your privacy and were only to happy to make your stay comfortable. The last receptionist was a beautiful Asian lady whose name I have embarrassingly forgotten and she too was very charming and helpful. They should all take the credit for being the fine people they are. Hotel owners please take note 😉
Not being in a room with security lights being activated.

Location is good, lovely big rooms, friendly reception staff! Good choice of wine, gins and cocktails in the bars and we had a nice dinner the chips were to die for! Great entertainment in the back room and then lovely breakfast choice in the morning, plenty on your plate all cooked and served fresh to your table! Coffee still not good but I should've ordered a flat white or latte as I didn't enjoy the coffee at breakfast on our previous visit either!
As mentioned above the coffee served with breakfast, but there were other choices I.e. flat white, latte etc I should have had one of those instead! The soup at dinner was tasteless too, but the chips with my main meal made up for that!

The room (22) is spacious and for once the dressing table mirror was at a usable height! There was room for a round table and two chairs plus a desk. The Wi Fi worked fine. The bathroom, though a little dated had plenty of space for toiletries, unlike so many newer hotels. The shower over the bath worked OK. The tea and coffee making facilities were good and accessible. My dinner in the 1569 restaurant was very good and the waiter was helpful and cheerful. The breakfast was also good and set me up for my day of golf spectating at St Andrews.
There were no water or tooth glasses in the room. A bottle of water and two glasses would have been an inexpensive addition. There is lots of garden space, but the planting was very dull and repetitive. Corridor carpets are very worn, with tape repairs and rugs covering some really bad bits. These are a trip hazard. The exterior of the building needs cleaning and decoration. I couldn't get the car charger to work, but that was probably due to my 'phone not being set up and I think I was outside the range of the Wi Fi. There is space at the rear or side of the building to build a swimming pool and spa, which would make the hotel more attractive, in addition to its 2 good golf courses.

Everything about our stay was first class. We stayed for two nights in order to attend a family funeral and are planning to return later in the year to explore the area more fully. The restaurant deserves particular praise. The menu was exceptional and, as someone diagnosed coeliac, the chefs went out of their way to adapt every dish on the menu to be gluten-free. And it was worth it as the food was more than delicious. All the staff were helpful and, fellow electric car owners note, there are four charging points in the hotel car park.
There was nothing about this hotel that we didn't like. From check-in to check-out we were totally satisfied. Rooms were generously sized and hot water in plentiful supply - I hate hotels where it dribbles out just a bit more than lukewarm.

Location, accommodation and breakfast all very good. Unfortunately the Diningroom was not open for dinner, and we ate in the bar, Our food was very good, but there were no others dining, so no atmosphere. A really lovely guy - called Hamish we think - was serving us and was terrific. So pleasant, chatty, conscientious and really on the ball too. We would definitely stay again.
These are small issues but there were no spoons in the room for tea/coffee, and no glasses/plastic glasses in the bathroom. We did ask for these. Could do with a rubber sucker mat for in the bath, as it is very slippery surface without this.
