The pub/ restaurant are beautiful. Photos don’t do it justice at all. Martin (who seemed to be doing the job of 10 men) was amazing. Helpful and attentive to everyone. Some of the drinks (not all) were a little on the dear side (most likely due to the quality!) but the food was lovely! Our accomodation and the location were perfect. The room was spotless and huge with a massive(very comfy) bed and the bath was a welcome addition after a 10 hour drive from west wales. Ample parking also just across the road and in front of the accomodation itself. So very glad we found this place as the first stop off point in Scotland before heading further north. Would recommend to everyone.

Nothing at all, would have stayed for longer if we had the time.

Excellent room, with plenty of space for a family. We took our youngest, but will definitely think about bringing the entourage next time as our room had enough room to comfortably sleep 5 people. The bath was excellent and it was really lovely to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Peaceful surrounds and the inn has lovely meals. Our dinner was great. Breakfast was good. We got a great price on our booking and it was perfect for a one night escape, though we would recommend for a few nights if exploring Perthshire. Staff were great and our toddler was relaxed and enjoyed the stay too.

Breakfast- a fab cooked breakfast and other options available. Room- a great size room for five in the one room. Dinner- fantastic, a beautifully cooked Balmoral chicken on Burns Night, smash burgers that melt in your mouth and a great mac and cheese. We sat in the main room as wanted to enjoy the roaring fire, we felt very welcomed by the staff who were also catering for a group Burns Night event, fantastic cocktails and really reasonably price. I would highly recommend if you like a warm welcome, quality food and a great atmosphere. We also enjoyed the 5 mile loop walk around the Glenfarg Railway tunnels- 5 miles.

The staff were exceptional couldn't do enough for us. Food was excellent. Bed was the comfiest bed ever.

We have been going here for a few yrs now and have always enjoyed our stay however this time due to a mixup with apparently booking.com.i was stuck in my room the whole time as I always book a ground floor room due to my motability issues but we were booked in for an upstairs room the only one that was available. Cannot fault the staff though as they made sure we had everything that we needed without having to try get downstairs apart from one on the Saturday afternoon who said to my husband ' I suppose you're wanting a cheeky wee room service '..how else, was i going to have dinner This upset me, and it made me feel like I was being a nuisance to everyone.but apart from that one person we did have a good weekend and will be back as long as it is ground floor room.

The room was huge and after we turned on the space heaters, it was very warm and comfortable. Everything was clean. Despite being on a road, the area still was quite quiet. The breakfast was lovely and dinner was delicious as well. The staff were kind and patient with us. We liked the location, as it put us a little under an hour from Edinburgh for our flight the next day, made our long drive that day a bit shorter and the stay was less pricey than it would have been in the city.

Nothing in particular

Food was amazing in the evening and for breakfast and staff were very helpful with any requests i couldn't fault it. Room was clean and presented well with everything you would expect for this type of accommodation, plenty of towels, and once heating was on it was nice and warm. Perfect location for an overnight or two while touring, would certainly consider this hotel again. Plenty of car parking too.

Only one lady dealing with the breakfast orders and seemed rushed off her feet, it was September so maybe it's how it is out of season, but to be fair to her she didn't seem fazed by the many orders and was very professional, just another set of hands maybe have eased the pressure on her, but more of an observation really. In the room had to figure out heating and bathroon extractor as no instructions , but once done it was very warm and everything worked perfectly.

Really enjoyed our stay - primarily for the cosy feel, outstanding staff working 26/10 on the PM shift. Firstly, the comms and the staff. I booked via booking.com, the communication was exceptionally good and welcoming from the off. Reservation for meal arranged via message. On the day of our check in, a phone call from a polite male member of staff to verify everything. This was highly efficient. Swift and welcoming check in. I can’t express how impressed we were with him (apologies - I wish I could remember his name!). His female colleague working the bar was absolutely lovely too. The food was 10/10. Between the four of us we had fish and chips, pulled pork burger and chicken balmoral. Generous portion but more importantly, a tasty, quality meal. Good variety of drinks and the cocktails were beautiful. Free parking, no issues. Easy to find via sat nav maps.

Between us we had 3 rooms. X2 twin and a double. All were comfy, whilst dated I expect this from a traditional Inn. The main parts were clean (bedding/shower/sink) but the rooms really need a thorough dust, sweep and my bathroom bin had not been emptied from the guests before. Some dust on bedside tables looks like it’s been that way for 6 months. This was the only let down about how dusty the rooms are which wasn’t ideal as I’m asthmatic. This is reflected in the rating but hopefully easily resolved by the cleaning staff for future guests. Overall though, it wouldn’t stop me staying again if I were in the local area as the positives outweighed the rooms needing a bit more of a thorough clean.

Nothing beats Scottish hospitality. Everyone was lovely, attentive and helpful. Special shout out to Martin who went out of his way to help us out on the night of our friend’s wedding. The food was simple and well prepared, the room was clean and tidy, wifi connection was strong and the hotel lounge was a nice spot to finish some work ahead of the wedding weekend.

The ventilation in the bathrooms could be improved and generally the facilities could be a little updated. It’s an old venue which requires a lot of maintenance, but the team and the new owners are thoroughly working through the ongoing list of improvements.

The staff were friendly and nice, the room I stayed in was basic but clean and tidy. The shower was powerful and nice and hot. The beds were comfortable enough for me. The food was exceptional and well priced. Would happily stay again at this hotel...

Nothing horrendous, but the tv didn't work the first night as the hotel was full and everyone was using the WiFi... but that is a very minor thing, and do not let this put you off staying at this cracking hotel...

The food was outstanding, really really good. The owner was extremely helpful and passed on a lot of very useful local knowledge about places to see and the directions etc. His information gave us the most outstanding road trip up to Ullapool to get the ferry to the Isle of Lewis and Harris. Turns out he grew up there and knew where on the Island our family history began. Priceless info. It’s a small world. This is a great place to stay with above and beyond service. It’s about an hour north of Edinburgh not too far from the M90 highway and a good stop for a night in a traditional pub in a peaceful tree filled valley.
