Room was cosy old charm exactly as you would expect from such an old building. The Landlady was so friendly and helpful and we found it great to have good food on tap seeing as we arrived late on a Sunday afternoon ! The Westcountry Inn is exactly what it says it is. Good solid clean accommodation in an old coaching Inn. .ps having the paddocks to walk the dogs was an added bonus

Very good location, comfortable, clean. My dog was welcomed, parking onsite and I enjoyed my stay. Having read previous reviews, I do wonder what planet some people are from....this is a 16th Century coaching inn, with a lovely atmosphere and wonderfully quirky. There are plenty of budget chain hotels available for those who prefer that sort of thing. If I need accommodation in this area in the future, I wouldn't hesitate to return.

To be honest, there wasn't anything I didn't like.

Nothing to dislike - if you like staying in older historic places rather than modern places then this place is ideal - shower was on small side and not very powerful but water was hot so nothing to complain about

Lovely building, staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was good value for the area and very comfortable, with a decent menu and tasty food

Drinks were very expensive. Service could be slow due to staff having to multi-task. Check-in isn't until 5pm which isn't ideal

Staff were lovely. there is a jacuzzi and it was really enjoyable to relax in the evening. The history of the place is great and it has been kept to make us feel how things would have been then.

I was a little disappointed by the food. I would have preferred fresh ravioli.

Craig and Simon couldn't do enough for us. We're a group of 11 female motorcycle riders on a weekend away. Very pleasant stay. Safe bike parking on tarmac too! Very important for bikers.

Breakfast was really good and friendly service. We only wanted to stay at quintessential English pubs during our visit and this fit the bill perfectly. Our bed was good, loved the low ceilings and beams and sloping floors in the bathroom.

Location was great. Room was comfortable. In spite of the inn being extremely short staffed we were well taken care of. Food was excellent. We stayed 3 nights and would stay there again.

Food service was slow because of short staffing but it was worth the wait.

The hotel was quite good, staff were friendly and as i visit Devon for 2/3 days every 2 weeks I thought this would be my new base.

I booked again 3 weeks later and spoke to a fairly aggressive lady who insisted on a deposit. Not a problem. I arrived on the said date and a very nice young lady told me they had not heard of me and did not have a booking for me . The aggressive lady was called who was most unhelpful , and more or less said go away we are full. I asked for a refund of my deposit and was told to provide a copy of my bank statement or credit card to prove I had paid. I said check your card receipts but she refused. Three weeks later I finally received a refund. Not recommended.

The place is lovely and clean old country style pub. We turned up quite late and the staff were lovely and welcoming. The room was very clean and the beds were really clean snd smelt lovely. Haven't a bad word to say about the place. The breakfast in the morning was fabulous full English with tea /coffee and orange juice, we had our son with us and he was impressed aswell. Would highly recommend.
