Colum and Elaine were wonderful hosts, they made sure we had everything we needed to have an amazing stay with them, we stayed for 3 very peaceful and relaxing nights, a very filling continental breakfast was delivered to the door every morning for us to enjoy in our room or outside in the courtyard if the weather was nice. The room itself had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. You feel like you're in the middle of nowhere it is so peaceful, but you are only a 5 minute drive away from restaurants and shops and 20 minutes away from Belfast City, we would certainly stay again.

There was nothing we didn't like, we had a perfect long weekend away.

The hosts were very attentive and welcoming. There was a 'treats package' on arrival and milk, tea and coffee ready to use. The accomodation was spotless and furnishings comfortable and like new. The location was perfect. Out of the hussle and bussle of the city, but just a short drive (30 mins) to all the city centre attractions, and also ideally located for countryside drives through places of outstanding natural beauty. We appreciated Colum dropping by each evening to check if we needed anything, and chatting about our day, and for droppong by to say goodbye, before we left. The front of the lodge was an absolute sun trap in the late afternoons / evenings, with garden furniture on which to relax and enjoy a glass of wine or beer after a busy day exploring. A very relaxed and enjoyable stay.

We struggled with the taste of the tap water and recommend letting it run fully on cold for a bit before using it to make tea, to avoid a 'rubbery' taste. Alternatively, use bottled water for hot drinks... or just drink the local beers!

Our stay at Millbrae Lodges was just what we were hoping for. Colum and Elaine were wonderful hosts who have a lovely place we were lucky enough to stay at. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. The en suite rooms were beautiful, and very comfortable and quiet. Millbrae Lodges is located about a 25 minute drive into Belfast City Center, and since we were wanting a location more rural and quiet while we visited Belfast it was perfect. The continental breakfast was delivered to our door each morning and was delicious.

Beautiful converted stable block in a lovely rural setting. Stayed in the self catering unit and attention to detail has been given to all areas. Everything needed for our stay was there including a welcome hamper. Stayed while attending The Open in Portrush and visiting surrounding area. Colum is very welcoming, friendly and helpful, and interested in our visit and gave us recommendations on where to eat nearby Lily's Bar and Kitchen where we had a lovely meal and also advised us on parking in the city.

Nothing to not like

Everything about the property was amazing, very clean and tidy, nothing needing repaired. The host was excellent. I liked the touch of having breakfast delivered in a basket. I have stayed in many places and this place was by far my favourite. If I ever return to Belfast this will be my place of choice to stay.

The only thing I would have done differently is to stay an extra couple of days to see more of the beautiful country. With the space and attention to detail, the cost of the accommodation was a bit low, so yeah great value for money.

No better term than WOW, for Millbrae Lodge. This at one time was an 1800's milking parlor that the owner, who was a contractor, has totally renovated into a top-notch B&B. Colum, who is the owner, was most hospitable, even delivering your daily breakfast, which you choose, and adding valuable information on the area. The courtyard is filled with flowers, a small table, for each room, for outside breakfast weather permitting. The inside of our room was very comfortable with amenities only equal to a five-star hotel. If you're staying in Belfast and need a place to stay relatively close to the airport this definitely is the place to stay at a very reasonable price. If we were to travel again to Belfast, we would look nowhere else!

Faultless, honestly what a gem in the most incredible old stone building. Colum was so friendly and gave us a very warm Irish welcome. Gluten free alternatives for breakfast were easily arranged and delivered in a gorgeous wicker basket which is such a lovely touch. The room was spacious, beautiful and spotlessly clean. The bedding and towels had a lovely fresh scent. The bed and pillows were the comfiest we have ever slept on! Hairdrier in the room, iron and ironing board provided without having to even ask as Colum knew we had a wedding to attend. We rented a car and easily popped between the accommodation, Belfast and Lisburn within less than half an hour. Well located for the city and also Giants Causeway, a beautiful hours drive up North. Free parking and this genuinely felt like a luxury countryside stay. Thank you so very much for a stay in your little slice of heaven! Louise and Josh x

Faultless

Collum was truly an excellent host, telling us where to eat, what to visit(and a great route to travel), lovely conversation and the grounds were so beautiful with the perfect room. Loved the kitchen and a great easy breakfast was delivered in an adorable basket each morning. Elaine was prompt and friendly to message with before the trip as well to let her know when we would make it in. We would be back in a heartbeat and would love to take our 4 kids with us next time! Exceptionally clean and well kept, along with a great road to take walks after dinner or exploring. Off the beaten path but that is why we chose, such lovely scenery to drive through.

There was nothing not to like. Lodge was extremely clean, close to Belfast city centre which was only a 20minute spin. Tesco close by in Lisburn city also. Was very easy to find. Stayed here as we were going to the super car driving experience and wanted somewhere close by and it wasn’t a disappointment. would defiantly stay here again if we were to return to Belfast. Colum was lovely and very welcoming.
