We had a wonderful experience staying at this small historic hotel during our trip to Ireland! The building itself is full of old-world charm, beautifully maintained with just the right touch of character. Each room, while compact, was thoughtfully designed, warm, and incredibly cozy—perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The location couldn't have been better. Nestled right in the heart of town, we were just minutes away from the start of the Ring of Kerry and had easy access to all the highlights of Killarney. We loved being able to walk to local shops and pubs in the evening and enjoy the vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere. One of the standout features was the breakfast served in the restaurant downstairs—it was absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for a place with history, heart, and a fantastic location for exploring southwest Ireland, this little gem is hard to beat.
While the rooms were generally very comfortable, we did notice a bit of variation in temperature: one room felt a touch too warm, while the other was slightly on the cooler side. It wasn't a major issue, but something to keep in mind if you're particular about climate control.

It was a lovely nite away, the room was fab, facing onto the street, loved the decor of the hotel, we were met by a lovely guy at reception and met him again on leaving, he was a really nice guy! Great facilities in room, very welcoming!
My only negative was breakfast, now when I booked, it said included! My payment was taken a few days prior and it was only on arrival we were tolded it was continental, now we were in lake garda a fortnight ago and had a continental breakfast included, far superior to yours, it did the job fine but it is misleading when on booking breakfast included! It wouldn't but me off staying again though

Great hotel location. Grand big room and comfortable bed. Very clean and neat.
Could do with better lighting in bathroom however (for putting on make up?!) Not enough milk provided to match number of tea bags?! Thought 106 was a nice room until I saw 400, and discovered my friend only paid €40 more!? Think the room price was steep enough without breakfast included. That was our main reservation. Think €150+ breakfast would be better value or €180 with breakfast included for room 106.

Somewhat upscale hotel right in the heart of Kenmare. Near lots of shops, pubs and restaurants. Kind and helpful staff. While the parking lot is small, it's included in the price. Great place for doing day trips around Co. Kerry.
Parking can be a challenge, and the beds may not be to everyone's taste — very soft. Lots of stairs as well, so those needing good accessibility may want to look elsewhere, or be very precise in your booking.

Loved this hotel .Loved the ambiance and the friendly staff. While we did nor eat here we came back to the hotel for after dinner drinks .Its was really top class and we enjoyed the gentleman who played the piano . He was so good .Beautiful place to stay .
Small stuff .We would have liked more plug sockets in the room .Upon check out we informed the lady we have a problem with the window in our room. She was so considerate and kind .She offered free breakfast which we declined as it was not nessary .The reason I am telling this story it that I want to highlight her professionalism .

Delightful spot, great location in centre of town. Room was lovely, very nicely decorated with excellent fittings and a very comfortable bed.
Although breakfast was included on Bookkng.com, we were informed that a limited continental breakfast was all that was included. Both the offering and the service of it left quite a lot to be desired. It let the hotel down.

The team at the Lansdowne are lovely and incredibly helpful. We were badly delayed and didn't arrive to the hotel until 2am. When we requested breakfast to the room in the morning after missing the order the night before that wasn't an issue. Really beautiful hotel and you cannot get a better location in Kenmare.
The heat in the room was intense. We had to keep the windows open to try get some air through.

Breakfast was not included and we needed to order off a menu. Our preference is to help ourselves to a buffet style breakfast although we do not have the cooked options.
Car parking limited and timing has to be right otherwise we would have been charged. Another option was to park near the library and walk.

Location was perfect and close to everything we needed in Kenmare. Room 401 was exceptionally comfortable and beautifully decorated. We loved the cotton sheets and fluffy duvet! Bathroom was modern and loved the heated underfloor tiles! Incredibly quiet room with no noise disturbance from either the street or other rooms. The staff were courteous helpful and especially the manager on reception who went out of her way to make us feel welcome. A special mention to the young fellow who served us breakfast and was cheerful and professional with us and other guests. We will gladly return to the Landsdown.
Breakfast was very poor in our opinion. We travel a lot and this was not what we have come to expect from a hotel of this calibre. While my bowl of oats was tasty, the red fruits on the side were a little scant as was the portion of porridge. Perhaps a selection of grains seeds or nuts would be preferable or fruit that’s in season, bananas or apples? My husband had poached egg on two tiny discs of bread which seemed an inadequate portion size to start the day. I don’t like mentioning this only blip in our wonderful stay at this hotel but it resulted in our choosing to eat breakfast elsewhere the following day. Everything else was fabulous but can I suggest a magnifying mirror with light in bathroom as there was no over mirror light and it was tricky doing my make up!

The staff were super friendly. Being greeted at the door was lovely. They were very happy to help with everything. There were a few parking spots at the back of the building which were full, but there was ample parking on the street. Quiet lounge and nice restaurant.
Unfortunately we had some neighbors who blasted music at 1am. Not the hotels fault for inconsiderate guests. They very kindly gave us free breakfast in the morning to compensate.
