We have been traveling to Ireland every year for the past 4 years on Easter week & this was our first stay at Muckross. We couldn't have been happier! From Shad at concierge, to Eric the pastry chef who made an INCREDIBLE birthday cake for our son's 18th, to Dean & Laura at the front desks, to Ramona at breakfast each morning, to Mia our waitress at Colgan's two nights in a row (& our other waitress's name there who I cannot remember) we were over the moon with the hospitality & our stay. We also had incredible spa treatments (shout out to Deborah & I wish I knew the other therapists names because they were all equally GREAT.) Would definitely highly recommend to anyone looking for an incredible stay in Killarney! Rooms were immaculate, employees warm & helpful at every turn, food delicious. Thank you for making our last World Championships trip to Killarney the best & beyond memorable!!

Nothing. :-)

Brilliant hotel with wonderful staff and great facilities. Breakfast choices were great with really good service. We made use of the spa on both days, although advised to book in advance we had no problem getting a slot last minute and found it to be fairly quiet with only a few other guests. The location was good, a €15 taxi gets you into town and it was 5 minutes from some of the walks we wanted to do. Overall we were really impressed and happy with our stay.

It's a shame there isn't a gym, and I would have liked a pool I could do a few lengths in which isn't possible with the various jacuzzi areas

Location is 3 km outside Killarney opposite Muckross Park and excellent if one has a car as did we. Breakfast is either a generous buffet style or order from the kitchen. Service is very good. Hotel provides welcome snacks. ;-). In room capsule coffee maker and tea kettle were appreciated.

Like many hotels in Ireland, if one likes to sleep with the AC set for 20 C, or 21C, the AC is on a timer and shuts down mid-night and one may wake up uncomfortably hot as did we. Some staff recommend setting the AC on cold before bed and then one is comfortable later, but this approach defeats the purpiose of conserving energy. We prefer to use a modest level of cooling. Most hotels will allow the AC to run if requested. We made such request but the AC was switched off anyway.

Lovely location, easy to get to from the centre of Killarney but right in the national park. Staff couldn't have been nicer, very warm and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, with a great range of vegetarian and vegan options as well as the usual cooked breakfast options. Staff were very attentive, friendly and food allergy conscious. I also had a nice casual dinner at Colgans bar. Again, great staff, very careful and accommodating of allergies, and the food was very good. I went for a massage in the spa and it was one of the best I've ever had, thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable. Rituals products in the bathroom and shower were a nice touch.

This was probably the nicest Hotel I have ever stayed at. Everything about it was lovely. The included Irish breakfast buffet was top notch too. Big Rooms, Nice cool A/C, Amazing facilities and the location for for the natural beauty of the area was great. Its a bit out of Town...which we actually liked as the Main City area gets quite busy and crowded, but still an easy Uber or drive and there was surprisingly ample parking in town.

We were good with it, but just as a point for others, it is not walkable to the main city/town area (well i suppose you could walk but it would be several km). Again I thought this more a strength but worth knowing.

Our room was quite dusty and bathroom needed. Some attention seemed to be somewhat antiquated. The staff was nice to leave a bottle of wine for our 25th wedding anniversary and do a special turn down service the spa and the massage was excellent. The service was 100% But the menu pricing is quite extravagant for what you got. All in all it was great reminiscing where we were married 25 years ago, but I wouldn’t spend the money to get the big suite and would possibly go to another local restaurant. Breakfast was excellent.

I felt like some of the decor was outdated and the bathroom definitely although bag was antiquated and needed some paint. We stayed in the executive Suite 211 when we were married we stayed in the George Bernard Shaw suite which is 25 years ago was great, but I understand the hotel is on her new ownership, etc.

The hotel has kept its standards over the years. The food is beyond excellent. The bar, restaurant, and dining areas are very comfortable. The food was exceptionally nice. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and there was a large menu to choose from. The Monks lounge served fabulous food, too. Again, a varied menu. I had the Colgan beef buger and chips every evening it was delicious, tasty and well presented, and val for money. The chips were the NICEST CHIPS I HAVE EVER HAD.The staff are all very welcoming. They know their job and show their expertise. The hotel is so well situated in Killarney that we were able to park the car for the duration of our stay, and we walked several KM every day. (Bicycles were provided, but we chose to walk). It's been a while since we were in Muckross House Hotel, but we look forward to returning there later in the season. I wish the hotel a good season ahead. They deserve it. Kind regards Bernadette

The breakfast was excellent with a good choice for vegetarians and vegans. What really made it special however, was the friendly and helpful staff who were always alert to any requirements. The Yew Tree restaurant, where breakfast is served, is absolutely beautiful and topped off the experience perfectly. We booked an hour in the vitality pool that included use of the sauna, steam room, two jacuzzis, an outdoor hot tub (dIvine!) and heated loungers. At 11am we had the place to ourselves for the last 40 mins. Extremely relaxing and for no extra cost! The bathroom was very good with double his and her sinks and an enormous bath. The seperate shower was perfect; easy to use, instant hot water and very good water pressure. The Ritual complimentary shower gel, conditioner and shampoo added to the sense of luxury. The twin room we booked was of a very adequate size although we could have done with a few more hangers in the wardrobe. The room was easy to heat or cool with very simple wall controls and the beds themselves were extremely comfortable. Finally, and notwithstanding the lovely surroundings and general air of opulance and serenity, the greatest tribute I can pay this hotel is its staff. Incredibly professional, yet friendly, helpful and always there with a sincere smile and a cheery hello. Outstanding stuff from porter to waiter to housemaid to receptionist.

I could mention that some of the skirting boards and door frames could perhaps do with a small re-touch here and there and if one looked very carefully, there were one or two areas where a quick lick of paint might have improved the decor marginally but these are very trivial points and did nothing really to detract from the experience.

Truly, everything about our stay at the Muckross hotel & Spa was exceptional. The building is beautiful, the room was spacious, beautiful and very comfortable. The staff were all so lovely, kind and accommodating. The spa was so relaxing and an amazing addition after long weeks of travel. Dean in particular was amazing and offered so many kind additions for my partner and I as we celebrated our engagement. He and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay romantic and celebratory. I am so grateful. The breakfasts were fabulous. I only wish we could have stayed longer at this wonderful place. Thank you so much to all!

Everything was perfect

Our stay was amazing!! It was my partner and Is anniversary and they went above and beyond. The pool facilities were so luxurious. We loved the jacuzzi , sauna , steam room etc. The hotel was so accommodating and gave us a superior room (Thank you to the Lovely Emma at the desk) We had yummy food in the bar /restaurant where Patrick served us with a smile. The breakfast was very tasty in the morning and great service. The hotel was so close to muckross park and muckross Abbey where we went for a lovely walk and a coffee. We also did a little pony treck around facilitated by this lovely man named Dan who was down the road. The hotel staff were so so nice and happy to answer any questions. We are so happy with out paddy's day stay. Thank you so much! Go raibh míle maith agat.
