I always love the Brehon it’s location was perfect this time as we were attending the bike festival which is held on the grounds. The breakfast was lovely and the staff very friendly and lovely comfortable rooms
The correspondence coming up to the stay was very poor I kept receiving emails stating I had only one room booked so I eventually had to ring and check as I had two rooms booked. Also on arrival our friends got a bottle of Prosecco in there room there was nothing in ours which was kind of strange as we both paid the same and I did all the bookings. Not a deal breaker but would be nice if everyone is treated the same

This is a really nice hotel and our room was fantastic. A very well laid out and spacious room with amazing views of Killarney National Park. Also throughout the hotel the level of cleanliness was clear to be seen as it was spotless. All of the staff were engaging and very friendly and a credit to the hotel. In particular the young lady working behind the bar went to a different floor to get the drink I ordered; what service! Breakfast was another standout. Usually buffet breakfasts are not up to scratch but this was not the case here. All of the hot food was actually still hot and cooked to perfection We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we were delighted with the gifts the hotel had arranged for us on our arrival

We like to treat ourselves to a night away in the Brehon every so often, the spa is bliss 😊 and the staff are always so attentive and lovely!
we never have any complaints as it is always top class. However, this time we stayed in one of the heritage rooms, and we were excited to see the new decor, even though it was beautiful and clean, and the bed was so comfortable.. the rooms are advertised as being soundproof, and we were woken a few times during the night by other guests coming out of the elevator. My partner also ordered a glass of wine from the bar and there was an old lipstick stain on the rim, which disappointed us. But we will still be back 👌😁

Breakfast was good, beds were firm and very comfortable. Rooms were spacious. The Vitality Suite was absolutely lovely.
The facilities were dated - we stayed in a supposedly newer heritage room, which was spacious and beautiful, however the attention to detail was really missing. When we came in there was a saucer missing for the tea cups (and a note stating that a missing saucer would cost us a lot of Euros!), no milk in the fridge when there was a note saying there would be milk, the toilet cistern was coming off the wall, the showers were TINY (like being in a cage) and there was glue on the outside of the shower showing where it had been fixed. Floors also didn't feel clean and there was toothpaste splatters from past guests all up the wall. I feel like the Brehon was trying to be 4 star, but missed all the details along the way!

From the greeting at reception to all the staff that served us throughout our stay were so friendly and helpful the team are truly invested in making sure guests have all they need The food in the bar is really scrumptious can’t comment on restaurant as we did not eat in there The breakfast Buffett and choice of cooked food surpassed all our expectations with again attentive staff The hotel is well staffed and refreshingly so as so many aren’t these days
This really is a minor one for me as an older person I would have liked to be able to have afternoon tea with cake and a choice of sandwiches for the times you might head back during the day There was only bar food available all day which was more than we would want midway between breakfast and evening meal

Service was top class cannot remember the staff member who looked after us at dinner but was sinply outstanding. Had great craic with him. He made us feel so at ease. Knew loads about the menu and the drinks. The staff at breakfast were again top class. As I have a visual impairment I needed some help and they were at hand to attend to my every need. So helpful.
Just a small issue. Wasn’t able to get tea and toast at night after coming back from a show. As I am a diabetic this is something that I really needed. But I had a small snack in the room. I just would have preferred something substantial.

This hotel has Beautiful open spaces to relax in on different floors. Lovely paintings and pictures reflecting Ireland added to the character of the hotel. Large spacious bedroom but paid extra for a view but mainly saw neighbouring hotel and carpark as was put on first floor. Breakfast was delicious well trained staff and beautifully presented delicious options. Eg fresh bread, scones, smoothies. The spa was very relaxing. Bedroom was very clean with a generous supply of towels. We are in the bar and had excellent service and the meal options were great. I had a home made soup and my daughter had the vegan option. Both were excellent.
The view that I paid extra for not great as first floor room. The fact that the spa expected you to come down in your robe and did not provide one and were not as welcoming as staff on reception.

We stayed in the Brehon for the first time over Christmas as a couple and I can honestly say it such a perfect stay.. we stayed in a deluxe room which was absolutely gorgeous and we had fab views from the window. We had breakfast in the hotel that was so well set up I had fruit which was so fresh and plentiful and the hot breakfast could not be faulted. When we checked out we used the vitality suite we spent about an hour to 2 here and it was so good would definitely return there again
We didn’t fit in dinner but will definitely be returning and will try it then.

I stayed at the brehon for only a few nights but it is a hidden treasure in killarney, everything was great especially the pool and spa area, and you have to book it in advance so its never too busy, I was impressed, the hotel bedroom was good and the view from the window of the kerry mountains was spectacular.the food in both the lounge bar and breakfast room was top notch, over all I enjoyed my stay, the staff in the hotel were exceptional and went out of their way to assist everyone, it was a birthday present for my 60th birthday.there was even a birthday card in my bed room, overall I was impressed, thanks johnny .
nothing it was good to relax and unwind for a few days, im caring for my 91 year old mother here in dungarvan and it can be a very demanding job at times so combined with the fact that its my 60th birthday soon I enjoyed my few days.

Anú spa treatment, vitality room, staff in Anú, at reception and the breakfast dining room were so welcoming and helpful, Our bedroom and ensuite were cleaned to a high standard, while we were at breakfast, except the morning we were leaving.
The barfood!!! Following our treatments at the Anú Spa, we decided to eat in the hotel lounge and we were so disappointed! My tortellini with salmon had hardly any salmon, leftover bits of salmon and not a salmon fillet flaked among the tortellini, which I expected to be handmade, not from a packet! Definitely not worth the price! My friend's thai red curry with basmati rice was lumps of chicken in what looked like a MacDonald's curry sauce served with microwaved brown rice...soft and disgusting. I complained to the manager and she didn't charge for the food, offering us free drinks. But for a hotel of this calibre, the food in the lounge area was truly disgraceful. Stale smell of fish food in the area between the reception and the downstairs restrooms. Definitely needs freshening!
