Great central location, good buffet breakfast, staff were very good and helpful

The room was hot all the time. We couldn't lower the temperature. We stayed for four nights and we turned the aircon off on the first day, as did 2 other couples we were travelling with. We were able to open the window a small amount which gave some relief during the day but at night time we closed the window and just slept with a sheet on

Location is excellent

There was some kind of bad smell at the 16th Floor , could be from drainage system THE TIMING GIVEN FOR CHECK OUT IS VERY EARLY @11:00 HRS MOST HOTELS ARE 12:00 HRS CHECK OUT

I love this hotel. The location is the most perfect! You can not find a better location. It's smack in the middle of the street market. The breakfast buffet is my favorite, the views from the breakfast room are stunning. They start at 7:00 a.m. which is fantastic for jet laggers. The rooms are great for the size, comfort, and amenities. The staff is always so happy to help, accommodating and sweet. This is my second time staying, two years apart. I would never stay anywhere else.

You can't control your own room temperature. Which I did not like. One guest had called the front desk and said they were too cold; so the hotel turned up the heat for the entire hotel. We were literally sweating but they wouldn't turn the temp back down. That's the one negative thing. If each room could have their own control for their comfort that would be great.

Royal Hotel's location is definitely one of its key draw points. The rooms are always clean, well-appointed and comfortable. It isn't our first stay at Royal Hotel and definitely won't be our last!

The staff at the lobby lounge cafe were rather dismissive, rude and curt. The level of service definitely did not meet up to the level of service extended by every other member of staff that we had the pleasure of coming into contact with.

The beds not comfortable , the breakfast i think it was almost seafood , the arabic people dont eat that on the morning , so i hope they add more food the arab people like eat it , thanks

The location of the property couldn’t be beaten. Prime location in Myeongdong with countless restaurants and shopping directly outside the hotel. Perfect for first time tourists and if you want to soak up the chaotic fun of staying in Myeongdong and enjoy the crowds and buzzing atmosphere. Good location to be based as all the main tourist locations were a short cab ride away in various different directions. Coin laundry available which was really handy for longer stays like ours. For such a central location and good facilities, I would say this hotel is good value for money. Similar hotels in the same area were double the cost.

Didn’t really have any complaints. Lifts were quite busy in the mornings so a bit of a longer wait but other than that nothing we didn’t like. We were a bit worried from other older reviews about the temperature of the rooms but it was absolutely perfect for us and no issues whatsoever. We had a few warmer days and a few cooler days during our stay but the temperature of the room was always perfect.

We stayed in a premium triple room with Club Lounge access. Only used the lounge once during our 4 night stay. The light bites for happy hour on the 21st floor were goodl. Our room was meant for 3 people (our friend cancelled last minute) so of course it was spacious for 2 people. I asked for a high level, quiet room and they really delivered! We faced the back/side of the hotel facing away from the street so we did not hear any of the noise coming from the center of Myeongdong. Amazing! There was a sofa and table where we ate our food and watched TV from. The bathroom was extremely clean. When our toilet clogged due to our error (they do not flush their toilet paper and prefer you to use the bidet!), they fixed it right away. Beds were firm and so comfortable to sleep in! Walk downstairs and you are immediately where the food stalls and shopping are so very convenient. The hotel is closer to bus stops than it is the subway but it is not a far walk to either. We were able to use their coin washer/dryer for our laundry (they sell detergent and dryer sheets in the vending machine right next to the washer/dryer) and had no trouble with damp clothes not drying fully.

We were able to locate where the morning tea was even though front desk staff told us it was right across the check in desk - we went on 2 separate mornings and it was empty so we felt we did not get what we paid for.

The location was fantastic! Right in the heart of Meyongdong with tons of restaurants and shopping right out the front door. The hotel had parking available but we didn't need it and it was a short walk from a couple metro stations. Overall, the staff and service were great and the cleanliness was top notch. It was generally very quiet as well.

The beds were very firm and the pillows were even more firm. That was a disappointment given how often we travel. We expected a 4-star hotel to have slightly more comfortable bedding. The other downside, which we can't blame the hotel for too much was that they turned off their AC system due to the cold temperatures outside which meant our room on the 13th floor stayed around 80 degrees all the time, even with the window open which was very hot. The staff apologized and offered a fan but that didn't help much for us hot sleepers. The rooms are on the small side for two people and luggage but that's to be expected for a location in the middle of the city. Entirely survivable though.

location is great - shopping streets & eating places (including street food stalls) right at the doorstep yet is not affected by noise. Easy access to subway station & airport limousine stop.

room needs a little update - there were visible stains on the carpet & even on the bath mat. Decor is a little dated & lighting is too dim.

We loved our stay at the Royal Hotel Seoul. It is the absolute best location if you want to stay close to the bustle of Myeongdong. If you don't like crowds though, it wouldn't be the right fit for you. It's located at the end of the street that many of the evening street food vendors set up. For us this was perfect because it was close but just far enough away. Even with the crowds all day and night, it's quiet once you step inside the hotel. We saw other hotels we considered and are so glad we picked the Royal. The location is perfect. So many restaurant options, shopping and two subway stations at your finger tips. The staff spoke great English and the hotel is clean and comfortable. We were very happy with the Royal.
