The hotel was very well situated in the centre of the city and very near the main square. The staff were friendly and helpful. A real bonus was having EV charging points in the car park. The top floor restaurant and bar was very good.

The garage was terribly restricted in space, making entry, exit, turning etc quite difficult! The shower in my room was in the bath, whose surface was VERY slippery once the water was turned on. It was particularly dangerous when trying to get out of the bath and I had to lay a towel on the surface to steady the grip of my foot. It would be good to supply a mat to put in the bath when using it as a shower.

The location was great and we were able to park in the underground carpark although I would recommend booking with the hotel prior to arrival. We liked the restaurant for aperitivo, dinner and breakfast on the top floor with fantastic views of the city and the surrounds. Lovely to sit outside on the terrace which almost goes all the way round. Dinner and breakfast were brilliant and the staff in the bar and restaurant were efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. Facilities for coffee and tea making were excellent but personally I would have preferred cups rather than paper cups although I’m sure if we’d asked the hotel would have provided them.

There wasn’t much to dislike about Grande Albergo Roma. The decor wasn’t to our taste but it’s hardly something to criticise. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel was in the best possible location to explore Piacenza. This city is underrated. We enjoyed the walks, the magnificent Piazza Cavalli and shops etc etc. This hotel is perfect. I had to buy an extra bag for the shopping I did on the market. Very reasonable prices too! A win-win for Piacenza. And last but not least the people were all so kind and helpful. This town exudes style and La Dolce Vita.

Everything. It exceeded my expectations. I only wish we could have stayed a bit longer.

This was our second time staying at this hotel while visiting friends in Piacenza, and will not be the last. Excellent hotel and location. We stayed in the Farnese suite both times. Good mix of modern comforts and old world charm. The lobby is grand and welcoming. As well as the staff. Quiet street just steps away from the busy bustling city center. Rooftop bar cannot be beat for aperitivo. Our kids loved the view!

The only suggestion would be to update and modernize the gym. And/or offer bicycle rentals for guests.

small for me for old down excellent Garage not bad at least I learned how to park my car in difficult parking area I was lucky to have small car It great to parking in the OLD town because it will difficult to fine parking near by!!!! even morning time it will be fine to get from the parking at night when return back it will little challenging and full I keep the key with reception team to access for the guest so really the y make your live easier

baggages at night no one can help you but for most of the guest they bring few baggages for me I need to take what I need from the car and they advised me to wait till morning till the concierge staff join at night only one staff on the reception which is far enough BUT honestly they were AMAZING and I enjoyed the driving through the old city it's really amazing feeling to see this beautiful way everyday!!!

Breakfast was very nice and the view from the breakfast room and balcony was exceptional. We also liked the quiet location.

The gentleman at reception upon our arrival was a bit of a grouch and was very reluctant to provide information. Everyone else we encountered, at reception or at breakfast, was helpful and friendly.

Great location in a beautiful town. Within easy walking distance of the wonderful piazzas, streets, restaurants & bars. The hotel is comfortable and a good standard of accommodation.

Two things: There’s two lifts but one was broken throughout our 4 day stay, giving rise to long delays. This doesn’t work in a busy hotel. Crazy. Just get it fixed. Water. Most hotels give plenty of water to guests nowadays - gratis. And so you might think does this hotel as there’s no notes to tell you otherwise. Hence our delight at being given 4x bottles of 1/2 litre fizzy & still water per day. Imagine our surprise at the €60+ bill at the r we’re no of our stay for 6 litres of water. Pretty poor really.

Good location, excellent service, great rooftop cocktail bar, fantastic cocktails especially the signature old fashioned, delicious food in the restaurant, nice bars and other restaurants close by, perfect for visiting historical monuments and palazzos, peaceful nights sleep, wonderful stay.

Insignificant, but the fitness room could have had a couple free weights or at least the one weight machine they have should have the requisite parts to do exercises.
