Excellent evening meal - very good children's menu - they both loved the hummus and veg. The waitress was very helpful. All four adults chose different things and enjoyed their meals. Atmosphere nice and warm but quiet enough we could talk easily. Our room was very comfortable - exceptionally comfortable bed. Room quiet and not too hot. Nice to have real coffee and some homemade biscuits.

On reflection I should have asked for the mushroom and chestnut pie without the vegan gravy - it was rather glutinous and the flavour killed the pie flavour and made it a bit mushy! But that's maybe personal preference. Why all the cushions with the bed? The room wasn't huge and it was quite a challenge to find somewhere to put them!

All staff members are really helpful and friendly. Hotel has nice grounds, with plenty of outside seating areas and a refurbished restaurant. The breakfast and evening food is of a good standard. We booked a standard room which was nice with wooden beams. However........

The standard rooms in the main building haven't yet been refurbished and are a bit tired with coffee stains on wall near bin which are embedded into the plasterwork and the shower cubicle doors had black mould in the corners. If you're a light sleeper you may have problems with the road noise given its proximity. Rooms in the Mill building may be preferable.

Very nice staff all throughout the hotel spacious rooms coffee nespresso machine nice touch really comfy bed good with quality bedding decent shower bath in the bedroom seemed a bit strange ! good quality smart TV food both evening and for breakfast very good contributing to a most enjoyable break for all my friends and myself would be very pleased to return sometime soon

would be unfair to nit pick as the building has been sympathetically modernized and as a result retains its aged charm in a good way so no nothing really negative to report and i am sure the hotel would be even more fun in the warm weather rather than a damp cold December!

The guy we met at check in was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. The property is gorgeous with beautiful features like the wooden glass doors as you enter the bar-restaurant area. The rooms were stunning and the bathrooms were very tastefully decorated.

Two small things. The bedroom we stayed in, room 6, had a floor that was quite uneven. It's understandable as it's a converted property and has a lot of the rustic charm that comes with it. I think it could be slightly evened out by adding some layer under the carpet on the entrance side maybe?. It felt like my side of the bed near the door tilted down slightly. Other tiny thing was I didn't realise we didn't have breakfast included and so was confused and embarrassed myself at breakfast time (thinking the continental breakfast had all finished). We ended up ordering hot food.

The building itself was amazing! And so nice to walk around. Listening to the sound of the river outside while sleeping was incredible and so relaxing. The food was delicious and comfortably priced. The room was fantastic with a massive bed and old wooden beams while also being very modern. We got speaking with one of the waiters who recommended an National Trust walk which we did today and it was really enjoyable. I would 100% stay here again and recommend.

Loved it all, if I had to say something was that my girlfriend ordered the fry up for breakfast because for some reason she had a craving for the breakfast potatos! Which when came was not on the plate so when asked we was told that they'd ran out and forgot to mention it. That's me literally grasping at straws as we all forget things sometimes so we wasn't to bothered.

Everything The decor was beautiful. It was very clean and tidy. The ambience calming and the setting too Loved the fresh coffee machine in the bedrooms. I even had a fireplace, armchair and desk. Too many photos to choose from to download for a wonderful stay

There is no access for people with mobility problems. You need to go down steps to reception and the dining room. Our room was in another building. We need to get up and down steps to access the main building though my room was on the ground floor. All is forgiven though as was a very old building and the hotel was conserving its heritage

The Mill itself is amazing and a truly beautiful location with the river flowing past. Our room was large and quiet and really comfortable - the bed was very comfortable and the bedding was lovely! We had drinks out in the sun by the river in the evening which was lovely and there is a big garden out the back of the rooms which was also great. A really relaxing lovely place to spend some time - I'd definitely go back.

The owner told us that there was only pizzas after 6pm as there was a football match on... we were ok with that, but when we went to order pizzas it turned out they had already closed the kitchen as no one had come in. So a bit of a miscommunication. He was apologetic and totally fine with us bringing a takeaway from outside into the bar and eating it there - gave us plates and cutlery etc.

Location, outdoor space to eat with friends who are immunosuppressed, decor of rooms, coffee machine in room, old mill features left as features . I queried in advance the discrepancies between allergens marked on menu and the allergen list. On arrival the staff member remembered the conversation and had acted by notifying head office. Last year we came for lunch only, and I feel that the set lunch menu is better now than last year..more interesting choices.

Duvet too warm. Annoying pipping noise from fire alarm panel in corridor outside room (but I do understand that your staff couldn't deal with it themselves)

We were impressed with our room , fab toiletries and comfy bed . Having the roll top bath was lovely . The breakfast was just continental we could have paid for extra but it was great . Very relaxed feel to the pub .

There were a couple of snags with the room that the manager said he would address which was good . The toilet seat was broken and there was a new one outside the room on our day of leaving would have been good if someone mentioned as sharp edge .

This is a beautifully situated hotel, created from a former water mill. The main dining area has been sympathetically restored to highlight some of the original features. The outside area, around the water, is filled with birdsong and is very attractive. This time we stayed in one of the cheaper, more standard rooms but despite this, it was functional and comfortable, if lacking in one of the better views. The staff were friendly, attentive and professional. Breakfast was tasty and relaxed. This was our second stay here. We didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evening but met friends in Nailsworth, which is a sweet town.

Due to issues with customers not noticing information about the parking (you need to enter your registration number on arrival) everywhere is plastered with reminder notices. I understand why the hotel have done this but it is slightly jarring.
