Very comfortable room, lovely shower room, lots of tea, coffee etc provided. Sunday lunch was very good, although my partner's beef was a bit gristly in places. The roast pork was excellent, as was the cheesecake. Breakfast was exceptional and staff friendly and welcoming. Particular shout out to Theo and the older gentleman serving breakfast. Thank you for making us and our dog welcome.

Water in bathroom not potable, and although a bottle of water is provided, two would have been preferable as I felt dehydrated during the night. This is a minor issue, though, and we really enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely superb stay. Fantastic room with great facilities and loved the fact it opened out into the courtyard. Very comfy superking bed. Excellent bathroom with lovely overhead shower. The whole place was kept spotlessly clean and had clearly been recently decorated. All staff were super friendly, helpful, professional and couldn't do enough for you. Always a bonus to get on-site parking. Food was amazing starting with breakfast - do recommend the "full English", certainly keeps you going for the day. Evening meals were also of great quality and the range of ales on offer was also a bonus. Location was ideal - just a five minute walk to centre of town although it is a fairly steep climb.

nothing - couldn't fault a thing

There was nothing not to like. From the moment that we arrived at The Royal Oak Tetbury all of the staff were very welcoming. The room that we stayed in was lovely and the breakfast was amazing. We would like to say a big thank you to Mike for being so friendly every morning during breakfast, Jude for also being so welcoming in the bar during the evenings and especially to Emma who arranged for us to stay an additional night and even took us into Tetbury when my car had to go in the garage. We will definitely stay at The Royal Oak again.

The room was well equipped, bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean. Breakfast was excellent with good varied choice.

We arrived a little early (1.30pm) but was informed before our arrival that lunch was being served until 2.30pm. So we thought we’d have something to eat before checking. Met with a rather rude general manager who told me they were not serving lunch for another 20 minutes. When asked I was bluntly told there was a wake. Fair enough but why send emails and be blatantly open with no information or signs to say this. We went somewhere else. His front of house manners are poor. All other staff lovely

Room 2, King Lovely small bathroom with a heated floor but rather cramped. The room despite being described as a King size was also small. Rather gloomy with only one window and being on the ground floor it allowed passers by to look in meaning the blind had to be closed. We ate in the pub bar rather than the restaurant. Food was good pub standard. Same for breakfast. Parking is at the rear of the pub down a lane. Bikers beware…it has a loose gravel surface. We found some tarmac at the entrance to park on..

Nothing that would prevent us from staying there again.

The staff behind the bar were quite inexperienced and not particularly friendly. They were not rude, just hard to talk to with quick and blunt answers The room was extremely hot too, there was a small fan in the room but this was just not enough to cool us down, and the window is tiny so we couldn't open it to let any beeeze in. The room would benefit from air con.

Good fantastic, staff amazing, room lovely except too hot and not able to control heating therefore very uncomfortable, lovely location, nice outdoor spaces, wouldn’t like to stay in height of summer as all garden seating directly outside bedroom door, re possible noise otherwise no issues. Tiles in bathroom could do with a little revamp around bath. Bed very comfy, extra sofa bed useful, lively bath and endless hot water, very hot bathroom difficult to control. Yoh had to me an engineer to work out the heating thermostat as it really didn’t work. Otherwise despite the very minor downsides it was truly lovely! Best belly pork in living memory

The Royal Oak had a nice vibe! The inner yard was lovely and we felt really welcome, when we got there! Tetbury was one of my favorite towns of the Cotswolds! It was beautiful and big enough to have a good selection of pubs and restaurants. The breakfast at the pub next to the hotel was really good and there were many options to choose from!

The room was a bit too small for our needs. The bed was good but it was slightly uneven. That bothered my husband but not me.

The location of the pub was amazing. Tetbury is a beautiful village, and there was a lovely walk immediately outside. We had an evening meal, and all 9 of us enjoyed our meals. One said the chicken burger was the best they had ever had. The bedroom was very large and comfortable, a little dark but it's a very old building, so that was expected.

The only downside was the room was in the beer garden courtyard, which was a little noisy one afternoon.

Communication with establishment prior to arrival was poor. There was a problem with the booking and I needed to speak to a member of staff. They frequently failed to answer the phone, did not call back when they said they would, did not reply to e-mails or voicemails. Understandably I arrived with trepidation, but my experience when I arrived was exceptional and did not reflect what I had experienced prior to arrival. I would certainly return.
