The hotel is in a great location, with a small garden and parking. The staff are excellent and attentive. The breakfast was very good and perfectly cooked. plenty of choice. We ate at the hotel one evening and enjoyed the food and wine. pricey but good quality with wonderful service.

If you are coming with a dog there are limited places to dine, only in the bar and public spaces. There is not a space in the dining room which overlooks the garden. In the warmer weather I expect people with dogs sit in the garden. The wardrobe was difficult to access as it was a cupboard under the eaves.

The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment I stepped in the door, carrying my bags and showing me to my room. The room itself was gorgeously decorated and spotless, the attention to detail was faultless. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well, little to no noise from other rooms. I went to the restaurant for dinner on my first night and the food was exceptional, the waiters were helpful and informative about the food and the atmosphere in the dinning room was lovely. Breakfast again was delicious, plenty of choice for any dietary requirement and the staff were friendly and on top of everything. The team are a well-oiled machine! I have loved my stay and only wish I could have stayed longer, I will definitely be back in the future!

The hotel was a beautiful, historic building centrally located in picturesque Tetbury. It was sympathetically decorated, rooms were spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed. All of the staff were welcoming and helpful. Drinks on the terrace in the afternoon sunshine were a great treat, the pretty gardens so peaceful. The food was excellent throughout with a good choice of fresh food at breakfast and a wide and interesting menu for dinner, all beautifully cooked. The deal for our stay was exceptionally good value and we shall certainly visit again.

Beautiful period property, lovely decor. We stayed in nightingale, we had a lovely view over the garden. The room was stunning and the bathroom was huge. Very clean We were there for a birthday celebration, the staff were very kind and they left a card and brought a cake with a glass of fizz, which was a lovely extra touch Great value, we stayed on a half board basis

We also had lunch there on arrival, the staff were off hand and there were a couple of minor errors. I was concerned this was going to be an issue for the rest of our stay …. thankfully the rest of the stay was fine

We stayed eight days so had the opportunity to "eat through" their menu. It was all excellent which is not to be assumed but the dinner offerings were varied and delicious. The breakfasts were also very good - both the cold buffet and the menu choices - excellent.

Nothing to do with The Close but there is not a lot to see or do actually in Tetbury but there are many things to see and do in the area. We rented a car but the traffic was terrible, lots of road works going on so visits to Oxford, Bath or Stafford upon Avon took 2 hours of driving instead of 1- 1:15 as was advertised by map directions.

Our stay at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment my team and I walked through the doors, the reception team greeted us with genuine warmth and friendliness, making us feel right at home. The staff consistently go above and beyond to deliver outstanding customer service. Special recognition must go to Benjamin, who works in the bar and restaurant. Benjamin truly stands out for his dedication and excellence in customer service. He continually went out of his way to ensure we had a fantastic experience, making our stay memorable with his fabulous personality and professionalism. Additionally, the food was absolutely amazing, adding another layer of enjoyment to our visit. This hotel is a hidden gem, offering not only great amenities but also an exceptional team that makes every guest feel valued and cared for.

It was noticeable that when Benjamin was not working in the restaurant, the service wasn’t quite to the same standard or consistency.

Service was excellent particularly the welcome at reception. Breakfast was very good. Wide choice of good quality food with excellent service. Restaurant very comfortable. We loved both bars. Comfortable seating and elegant decor with a country style. The garden seating area was a lovely bonus. Bed was large and comfortable with good quality bedding. Tray provision was excellent. Lovely to have a dressing table with plug for hairdryer and also a full length mirror. Thank you! Shower cubicle was large with good pressure from the rain shower.

Loved loved loved the hotel! A tiny suggestion/comment (as you have asked! It would be helpful to have a small shelf above the sink.

The location - In the centre of Tetbury and within easy striking distance of the rest of the Cotswolds Stylish and cosy hotel blending ancient with modern. Staff v pleasant and helpful.

There wasn’t much I didn’t like about the hotel itself. If anything the restaurant let the hotel down. The staff were excellent but the food wasn’t always as described on the menu. Boiled new potatoes didn’t taste fresh; marinated tomatoes replaced with fresh and toast burnt underneath the smashed avocado 🙁 Absolutely superb steak though and rack of lamb. The kitchen lacked attention to detail.

Everything went well. The garden was really pretty with a pond in the middle and plenty of seating, without being crowded or cluttered. The hotel really clean, full of character in a good way, and welcoming. The food was exceptional at dinner. Breakfast was also excellent. . Our room was gorgeous, we stayed in Swallow Room. Loved the dog beds for our 2 little dogs and the water bowl provided. Plus Molten Brown products. What a treat to use during our stay. We loved Mark on reception. He’s a real asset to the team. He’s friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We also loved how dog friendly the hotel is. Thank you.

There wasn’t anything that we didn’t like. The hotel is beautiful.

Location was great, in the heart of town. Staff were very helpful. Food was great. The garden was a lovely oasis of peace. Room was spotless and mattress comfortable. Thoughtful touches, such as flapjacks and bottled water in room.

We were in the Court room which was nice and comfortable, but unfortunately each time the room above us turned on their bathroom taps or shower, there was bizarre loud plumbing pipe noises in our room. It woke us up during the night and early the next morning. Very odd.
