The location was good and the breakfast was excellent. The room was large with a nice bathroom. I had one issue with the room, when mentioned it was dealt with professionally and the issue resolved proactively. The staff were extremely helpful, professional and friendly. I was very impressed with them. It was very welcoming and obviously a very popular pub which seemed to have a great atmosphere. I would certainly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Lovely big well equipped comfortable room. Lovely touches with some complementary drinks and milk in fridge. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely and quiet. Plenty of parking. Would return.

Carpet was a bit stained in places. Cups too small for a decent cup of tea.

An absolutely stunning property in a lovely location, very friendly accommodating staff where nothing was too much trouble. After checking out we went back for Sunday lunch which was delicious 😋

We were a family of 4, my husband, myself and my in-laws. The rooms are very beautiful, clean and have a unique character. The restaurant and bar are truly beautiful and convenient. Staff is exceptional and very helpful. We asked the owner if we could have breakfast at 8am instead of 9am, she immidiatley accepted and served us home-made breakfast on saturday and sunday. The food both breakfast and dinner were satisfying and good portions. I would recommend this inn because it feels like home.

The stuff were kind especially the lady that served us breakfast on Sunday was just amazing and soo nice to us. Breakfast was just beautiful with warm tasty pain au chocolates and many other delicious treats and so was the dinner. I am a vegetarian and I did find an amazing dish for me. It wasn’t just a pub dinner but it was quite a fine dinner for us.

It was bit noisy in the evening and i could hear people talking downstairs in our room upstairs but i understand that it’s a very old building. The noise dies down after 9-10. Then it was very peaceful. Also in the morning it was quiet and blissful.

- The staff was wonderful. We felt welcomed and well looked after. Shout out to Cass that’s been looking after us (and everyone else!) and made a big difference during our stay. The young gentlemen at the bar was also so polite and helpful. - The food was delicious. I haven’t been served such a pretty / yet simple and humble / fresh dish for a very long time. Dinner and breakfast, spot on. In the style of pub food but without the greasy or over the top aspect. Just what you need, what you want, well cook and presented. - The room : cosy and cute but spacious enough to settle in. We’ll come back for sure. We had a wonderful time. Everything was fantastic, relaxing and of a good taste. This place is a gem. Thanks a lot for having us.

Quintessentially English country inn in a quiet location that suited our needs very well (only stayed one night, visiting nearby Tetbury). Friendly staff and flexible check-in. Good food and excellent breakfast.

The payment would not go through on either of my Visa cards (including the UK one used for the booking!) due to a problem seemingly with their computer software. This was frustrating and embarrassing as another member of the party had to then pay. Also the WiFi connection was sporadic and the TVs were not easy to operate, although the staff kindly did sort this for us. The beds were not as comfy as they could have been for the price we paid. NB the two rooms at the top are half under the eaves and are up a second quite steep flight of stairs - but bear in mind it's a 400-yr-old inn.

We recently stayed here and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The location is absolutely perfect – set on a quiet country road, surrounded by beautiful gardens that create a really peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. It felt like a true retreat from the hustle and bustle. One of the first things we noticed was how spacious the grounds were, and there was plenty of parking available, which made things very easy and stress-free on arrival. From the moment we arrived, the host was incredibly welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. Their attention to detail and genuine care for guests really stood out and made us feel right at home. It’s clear that a lot of thought and effort goes into making guests feel comfortable and looked after. We had dinner at the property, which was very good – well-prepared and enjoyable. If we were to suggest anything, it would be to offer a little more variety or choice on the menu, especially for guests staying more than one night. That said, the quality of the food was definitely there, and we appreciated the effort that had gone into the meal. Breakfast the next morning was excellent – generous portions, freshly cooked, and a great start to the day. Definitely a highlight of our stay. Our visit happened to fall on an exceptionally hot weekend – one of those rare times in this country when temperatures soar. The bedroom was quite warm, which made sleeping a little difficult. A fan was provided, which helped a bit, but in that kind of heat, there’s only so much it can do. Of course, given that it’s an older building, air conditioning isn’t installed, which is completely understandable. And let’s be honest – such hot weather is rare here, so it’s not something that would normally be a concern. On any other weekend, I imagine the room would have been perfectly comfortable. Overall, we had a really lovely time.

Fabulous country inn, hosted and staffed by incredibly friendly helpful people. Plenty of parking and pretty garden/ outside drinking space. Comfortable bedroom with lots of nice unusual touches. Very comfortable bed. Excellent restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was superb.

The only thing I could fault was the shower. The bathroom was spacious and it seemed a shame to put such a tiny shower cubicle in such a generous space. There wasn't a holder for personal toiletries in there so shampoo etc had to go on the floor with hardly any room to bend down to access them.

The building is quaint & picturesque. The room was very clean, very nicely decorated & a comfortable room.
