The Emerald Room was very comfortable and spacious, with an excellent view of the ocean, framed by 2 cypress trees. The bathroom was spacious, with a large jacuzzi/2-head shower. Bath products from Lather were enjoyable. Breakfast was generous. In-room coffee and 24h coffee/tea room were helpful. Most importantly, all the staff were very kind, responsive, and helpful. Location was ideal, just a 3min drive or short walk to downtown Mendocino, or just adjacent to the north edge of Mendocino Headlands State Park, where we spent a lot of time.

WiFi was very slow, useable for email checks, but as photographers, uploading photos was a challenge. Breakfast was excellent quality and generous, but lacked day-to-day variety and fresh fruit, so went out to breakfast once to mix it up (not a big deal). Breakfast start time of 8:30 meant it was hard to get an early start on outdoor activities. Instead, we'd go get sunrise photos in the park, then come back for breakfast, then head back out. The room showed some signs of wear typical of an oceanfront property but is due for some updates. The one nonworking issue in the room was very graciously and quickly resolved by the staff. Overall, I'd consider these to be very minor complaints and would definitely stay again.

The area was peaceful, very picturesque and staff were very attentive and nice!!Kudos to the staff!

We were in the Diamond room, it was clean and nice, perfect for couples. The only thing that really caught us was the skylight above our bed which was very unusual, impractical and very very inappropriate!!We couldn’t rest until the sun/light was out because you just couldn’t!!! The light was glaring your eyes! For me who has migraine and wants to rest in the middle of the day, it was impossible. It was our very first time encountering a skylight above the bed disregarding your privacy and rest!!!Otherwise, the breakfast was great and staff were awesome!!

Bed and breakfast in an amazing location overlooking the Pacific Ocean just a 15 minute walk into Mendocino. We all really enjoyed our two night stay here. Gardens are beautiful and there are seating areas to relax and watch the sunset. The whole vibe of the place is very chilled. Check in was easy and staff are there during the day to assist. There is a room to get water, tea, ice and cookies etc which is open 24 hours. The breakfast was good and served buffet style in a room overlooking the ocean with a special each day (amazing pancakes).

We booked the B & B as we needed a property with three separate beds and Ruby is described on booking.com as two double bedrooms plus a lounge with a sofa bed. But unfortunately there is no sofa bed. It was however quite a long sofa and staff provided extra bedding so our son could sleep on it. Ruby felt like two separate units with a strange patio door and stairs from the lower bedroom to the upstairs sitting area and second bedroom. The upper area does not have blinds for all of the windows and felt a little unloved and tired in places. Ruby does not have its own private outdoor seating area as most of the other units have and has sea views from the upper bedroom only, which were amazing.

We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast - and the service was perfect. . . The chef and the waitress were welcoming with just the right amount of friendliness. And, the dining room had a spectacular view!!!!!! And, thank you for the fan in the bedroom. It seems unnecessary to have a fun with such beautiful weather, but it is just a sleeping habit to have a fan. Room was very quiet.

The bed was comfy and clean. But the room seemed a little sparse for amenities. Only 2 bottles of water in the little frig and we didn’t use housekeeping while we were there, so the bottles were never replaced. We are also accustomed to having a small safe for our laptop - but there didn’t seem to be one in the room.

Absolutely beautiful. Rooms are more like little cottages. Ours had a private patio with a bistro set surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees. Very comfortable and cosy with a fireplace and jet bathtub beside a huge window. The property and ocean views are amazing. May outdoor seating areas and an outdoor fireplace. Gardens are spectacular and they serve a wonderful breakfast in the dining area overlooking the coastline.

It is very close to town but walking is difficult due to a small bit of road that does not have sidewalks. However, the drive is a minute long and there is no problem with parking.

What an amazing little spot. The staff were so helpful and nice when I had questions. Easy-to-find designated parking. When we first arrived I was worried, because the property is sandwiched between two roads, but it was nice and quiet. The room was pleasant with a comfortable bed, and we had a deep spa tub! The sea view from our window and deck was spectacular, and the sea views from the garden and breakfast room were even better. Breakfast was exceptional – tasty bites cooked by the chef that included a homemade French toast or pancake option, toast from freshly baked sourdough bread, and 24/7 coffee and tea available. In fact, this property is full of thoughtful details, like chairs on the front lawn so you can look out at the sea, a lounge/fire pit area with sea views, blankets and board games available to borrow, a beautifully-maintained garden area, and homemade cookies in the coffee/tea area. It felt homey and is one of the best Mendocino properties I've stayed at. The proximity to the town of Mendocino and Mendo Headlands also can't be beat – we walked the Headlands three or four times each day because it was so easy to access. Great, great place. We'll be back.

If you're hoping for a fresh, clean, and perfectly uniform room, this place might not be for you. The rooms are very clean with nice furniture, but not perfectly maintained (I think it's very hard to keep a room in "perfect" condition this close to the ocean, as the salt air is tough on paint, so given that, the rooms are pretty good!). The wifi is weak in some rooms, but you can likely get a stronger signal in the lounge/breakfast area, which would be a lovely place to work.

How can you not like these incredibly beautiful little cottages on the face of a cliff overlooking the beautiful ocean?! The gardens were so well done and in full summer bloom for us- absolutely gorgeous! The staff were so friendly and accommodating and made us feel so welcome. The room was spacious, cosy, warm (with the beautiful fire place) and everything we needed! Very quiet and private too. The breakfast was so lovely too- we loved the personal touches of the staff serving us Gorgeous place- would highly recommend!

Nothing!! Keep in mind it’s a little out of town so a car would be beneficial- not a problem at all for us, but just to keep in mind

Really beautiful location and garden. We stayed in the Diamond Cottage, which was just perfect – spacious, spotless, and tastefully decorated. The bed was very comfortable, and the outdoor area made it feel extra special. The garden is peaceful and beautifully maintained, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Staff were welcoming and attentive, making our stay truly enjoyable. We would definitely come back!

Agate Cove Inn has a spectacular location with a great views of the sea, and is just a few minutes drive into town. The property has beautiful landscaping, plenty of lovely places to sit and enjoy the view, and oozes charm and romance. Our room, Garnet, with 2 Queen beds was perfect for my friend and me. It was stylishly decorated, very clean, and had a lovely garden patio with chairs and a table (shared with the room next to us, which could be rented out to accommodate a larger group). Everyone that runs the inn is very kind, welcoming and accommodating. The breakfasts are wonderful, with delicious egg dishes, sausage, crispy bacon, homemade bread and granola, potatoes, cooked-to-order sweet option of the day (like French toast or pancake).

The parking area was a bit tight since my friend and I arrived in separate cars, but it was fine, and certainly could not be helped - that's just the room that's available. We were just glad that we had small cars. :)

My husband and I loved our stay here! Our only regret is that we didn't have time to stay a 2nd night. The amazing view is what attracted us to this Inn, but everything about it was wonderful, from the large, clean, and comfortable room and bed, to the friendly and helpful staff, to the delicious breakfast (also with a view). It's a very short drive to town. The manager and chef ( for breakfast) were very helpful and friendly. We hope to come back to this Inn again someday.

Nothing, everything was great.
