The location was perfect for visiting the town of Mendocino and Fort Bragg. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room and the bed was so comfortable including the extra soft sheets!

The breakfast in the room was a convenient feature, but the selections in the meal were limited. The option to have breakfast in a dining area would have been nice. The hot water in the bath faucet took a long time to get warm/hot. An ice dispenser machine would have been preferred over loose ice in an open bag for sanitary reasons and ease of getting ice.

Once we arrived at the property, the staff was very friendly and helpful. This is not a cookie cutter place, instead there are several buildings in which guests stay. In the three buildings our family was in, every room was larger than we had anticipated. Everyone we met was happy to talk about the farm and the local area. We loved the breakfast that was delivered to the room every morning (usually eggs, yogurt, pastry, fruit, coffee or tea.) We also loved the homemade chocolate chip cookies at the front desk in the afternoon and hanging out with the llamas and chickens!

It was hard to get the property on the phone to ask questions before our stay. The same was true of email, but maybe that was in part to the interface with booking.com.

Lovely inn off Hwy 1 before the town of Mendocino. Diane was a delight at the front desk. They have several buildings but it was easy to navigate. Our room was in the Farmhouse called the Garrett room was the original attic space and the views were so so great. The bed was cozy and comfortable and it was spotless. The bathroom was very cozy but just fine despite the giant picture window that looked out into the highway. Thankful for a big shade. Overall it was very quiet despite the traffic on the 1.. On site restaurant was just wonderful for dinner. Our server was a joy and the pizza we shared was one of the best I’ve had. That crust was so good! The breakfast delivered the next morning was small but delicious. I LOVED the alpacas (llamas?) and seeing them out our windows. I also loved the chickens that you could feed. They ran towards when you passed by hoping for some feed. So cute. Diane also directed us to a couple of great walking trails, one leading down to a small little beach.

My two negatives out of SO many positives were the hella steep stairs to get to our room. Obviously they can’t change that and the view was worth it but goodness. They were treacherous. Also that attic space gets very stuffy. We opened the windows to let in a breeze although the road noise was a bit loud. No AC which is understandable and thank goodness we found a fan in the closet. That was a lifesaver. The windows have no screens so we had quite a few flys to deal with when we came back from dinner. Once the windows were closed and the fan was on it was very comfortable and we couldn’t hear the road noise.

We loved everything in this hotel! It's so cozy with the fire place and all of the interieur! We stayed in room 206, which was very quiet and had comfortable beds. The people working here are all very helpful and doing a great job! We liked the option to get coffee or tea in the lounge. The idea with the breakfast basket is so cool and a great way to start your day! Around the hotel there are so many things to see like the garden with lots of flowers that attract insects and birds. We loved the chicken and lamas - that was such a highlight for us!

How could you not like everything in this place? It's a 10 out of 10 👑

The property was amazing, surrounded by greenery and lively animals. It was truly a joy to walk through it and wake up every morning facing beautiful scenery while enjoying breakfast. Getting breakfast delivered to our rooms was definitely a highlight when combined with the exceptional environment. Rooms and general facilities were clean. Special shoutout to the receptionist Mosa(sorry if I got the spelling wrong!) who was very friendly and helped us find a room on the main premise that we could stay in.

Our original room was on the separate premise across highway 1 and a little bit too close to the road - we could hear the sound of cars passing by which would've made it a less enjoyable experience, even though the room was very nice. Luckily there were vacancies on the main premise that we ended up swapping to.

Breakfast is served in your room and the first day we had frittata and yogurt with muffins. Coffee or tea and juice. Second day we had eggs (from their own chickens) with tomatoes and mixed fruit and muffins. Excellent both days. There is a micro wave and a fridge in the room so suggest you bring some supplies with you.

They do not offer any room service at all but tea and coffee is available in the reception area. No bottled water supplied in the rooms which surprised me as this is not cheap accommodation. It does have the feel of a very upmarket youth hostel. There is no bar or restaurant but they do have a small shop where you can buy a bottle of wine.

The locating was amazing and the breakfast felt so good to wake up too. We also enjoyed the views of the water and the animals on site. Everyone was inviting and helpful. Whole town was something out of a novel.

The only issue me and my wife had with the whole experience is the bed. The bed was very uncomfortable and this was due to probably no comfort top on the bed. If it was one, it was not the best as we were constantly having to toss and turn do to feeling the frame. I think this can easily fixed by adding a thicker comfort top on the bed to begin and give the option for guest to have it removed or kept. Besides that one of the best hotel stays and location in my life. I highly would recommend to everyone!!!

Stayed in one of the rooms of the Four Quarters. Lovely space, exceptionally well appointed. The owner and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. No problem whatsoever adjusting my morning breakfasts (delivered to my door) to my vegan diet. Their ethos of eco responsibility was so refreshing. Had a lovely, 15-20 minute trail walk to a beautiful coastal view.

What’s not to like!?!?

Our room was very clean, comfortable and had a view of the ocean and llamas. It was especially lovely to sit by the window and enjoy the delicious, daily breakfast delivered to the room. We were provided fresh wood and supplies to make a fire each evening and enjoy a glass of wine. The grounds were also well maintained and we enjoyed exploring and feeding the chickens. They also just opened an on site restaurant that serves delicious pizza! We can't wait to come back again!

Location…friendliness….and love of nature and animals!

Lighting the fireplace…the logs were challenging. We suggest the Duraflame logs or drier wood. The breakfast were over-complicated…eggs (overcooked) and pesto for breakfast is too much! No need for sweet muffins or dessert - give us some toast & butter, plain poached eggs, coffee and juice any day! Disappointed that the daily wine tasting - promised when we booked and in the confirmation email - was not honored…..
