It was a really easy stay, the staff were friendly and communicated everything clearly and accurately. The hotel was bright, clean and looked contemporary and well maintained. On site parking facilities were very welcome and well managed. The room was as expected, clean with moderate amenities. The location for our trip (Symphony Hall, ICC, various food and drink locations and seeing some of the canal network) was absolutely ideal.

Not much not to like, obviously in today's economics - the stay was pricey for the room but I think offset by the location - not too much of a detractor but a little more room luxury touches would have been nice.

Great location, room was very clean and the hotel is very well maintained. Considering the extremely hot weather, the room was not too hot at all, the beds was a good size and very comfortable. The choice for breakfast was fantastic, lots of fruit pastries, Full English, cereals and an American style pancake maker. The hotel was very relaxed and am looking forward to staying here again.

This is really just my personal preference, but the toilet was in a separate room to the bathroom and I always find this a bit awkward. The only other thing would be again, just my personal preference and none of these things would put me off coming back, I had to ask for extra cutlery during breakfast, the staff are very professional and only too happy help, but I am not great in the mornings and I don't like asking for help. Again this really is just my preference and is by no means a deal breaker.

The staff were amazing. To be honest if the staff are good everything else falls into place. The receptionist, Corina, was so helpful and funny. The manager, IOHUT, was lovely - even on the phone prior to booking and during the booking process. They gave us an inter joining room which made it even better. They phoned us taxis and they were lovely at all times . To everyone, not just our party. The location is great, very close to the bars etc and the art gallery. The lobby smells of figs and always looks smart and there’s a great area for kids to play without making the rest of the place look messy. Rooms have irons and nice product to use in showers etc. highly recommend

Was literally just a one night stay for us, but could not fault the hotel staff, the look/cleanliness of the hotel. The reception smelt amazing! The car park was full on arrival so had to use the multi-storey round the back, which was fine, just a faff if needing things out the car, plus was more expensive than the hotel car park. With regards to the hotel it’s self, the only negative for us was that the toilet was not part of the bathroom, but in like a cupboard style room with no window or sink as soon as you walked in the room, so then your using the toilet, touching the handle to get out, walking into the bedroom opening the bathroom door before washing your hands, not really a bit of us.

The location was good for us to attend a conference at the utility stadium and the local restaurants for a meal.

One of the male staff members in the restaurant was very rude to the two females and one male at the breakfast table next to us. They were having a conversation and laughing and he told them they needed to be quiet. They were not particularly noisy so they and we on the next table could not understand why he felt it necessary to approach them and insist they were quiet. The car park is very small, and difficult to find. I had to phone the reception to find out where it was and how to get to it. Once we entered the car park there were very limited parking spaces left.

The breakfast was pricey at £18 each however if you booked the day before it would be discounted to £13.50. Again that's expensive for sausage and bacon. The hotel is pretty central to everything so it has a great location with a weatberspoons over the road with a cheaper breakfast. Th hotel is very good and only reason I gave 3 stars on cleanliness was due to the carpet stains in the room. It looked like someone had vomitted and it had stained around the bed. It's not the hotel's fault the cleaners had done their best to clean. Everything else was spotless though. The bed was very comfy and with the black out curtain I slept sound.

When we arrived, the lady at the reception was very nice and kind, and she was willing to change our room on a whim if needed. Overall, it was a very good stay. The restaurant is very nice with good food. Our eldest had a blast watching the pancake machine make his pancakes. The location was amazing for what we needed as we wanted to be as close as possible to the Christmas Market and other places we planned on visiting. Although there were bars and restaurants blaring music down the street, the room was lovely and quiet.

The room was clean. However, the bathroom needed another going over as there were hairs left in the bathtub and on the floor. One of the sides of the cot provided was broken, but that did not affect its usage. However, for an older baby, it could prove dangerous - so that should be looked into. I found it quite sad that I had to ask for a teaspoon for my baby and to be told I had to request one, as many customers nicked them from the hotel in the past. This is horrible on the customer's side, not the hotel's. We found the food at the restaurant a tad expensive for what was offered, but this is what happens when food comes with a gourmet label.

Great Room, comfortable, warm and had the provision of air conditioning and the ability to open a window slightly. Hair and shower gel provided. Tea/Coffee making facilities. Would have been good to have had biscuits provided also. Fridge for milk very handy. Staff on reception very helpful and approachable.

Difficult to make the TV work. It would have been useful to have had instructions. I was unable to make Netflix work even though I have an account at home. Having said that, large, wide, clear screen for TV. Side lights beside the bed did not appear to work.

I can't fault anything about the hotel, Me and my family really enjoyed our stay, including our 1 year old, it was her first time in a hotel, she was so excited. We even extended for another night. There was a nice size cot for her to sleep and our double bed was very comfortable, good night sleep. There was a gym and sauna, we didn't have chance to use unfortunately. The breakfast is worth it. There was hot buffet breakfast, along with cold buffet breakfast. Options for gluten free, and dairy free. Loads of options for hot drinks and cold. Pastries, cereals, toast, fruit etc. The hot buffet breakfast was very good, just the classic english breakfast. There was even a small play area for kids to play at the reception. Staff was fantastic, so polite, very helpful. I would gladly come back to this hotel again

Great location on Broad street. Good standard of accommodation, breakfast is likewise good. Stayed there before and will likely stay again when in Birmingham.

I arrived a little after 14:30 and was told my room was not ready. Like a lot of hotels they have a policy of charging for early check ins (before 3pm). Went back a 15:01 and my room was ready. This is not the first time I have done this. You can store your bag should you arrive before 3pm, but many other hotels have a little more flexibility. Novotel seems to be pretty rigid on the 3pm check in time. Not a big issue, but this inflexibility shows policy is more important than giving ‘that little bit extra’ to the customer.
