The welcome & professionalism of reception manager Orchid really made a difference. The room was modern, well decorated & clean with great bathroom & view over the canal. The area is safe & secure with almost all Central Birmingham within easy walking distance. Around the hotel are a variety of bars & restaurants to suit all budgets & preferences, including the option of al-fresco dining during Spring & Summer. Breakfast has a good range of offerings in the usual buffet style, with additional cooked-to-order hot items. The coffee bar on the ground floor is useful & popular (25% discount for guests!). Overall an oasis of relaxed efficient hospitality in the heart of Britain's second city.

Honestly, nothing!

Excellent standard of service from staff across the board - reception, bar, security, and cleaning. Made it easy for us to order food to the hotel past serving hours, including room delivery which was superb. Kareem, one of the security guards, helped us with our luggage to our rooms. We look forward to staying here again. Exceeded expectations.

It seemed as if even a gust of air would cause the bed to creak, quite loudly too. Not sure if this was just our room or whether others had the same issue. However, this did not impact the comfort of the bed itself which was lovely to sleep in after a long day. Lastly, we were are unable to switch off the TV, making it somewhat distracting when falling asleep. Otherwise everything else was great!

Excellent staff - Adam, the chef, was always on hand. His steam veg every morning for breakfast was delicious. Both managers and reception team were just all fabulous and welcoming and took time to say hello given. Get me coffee from the black sheep given I was there for 5 days. I even got an earlier check-in, which was unexpected. The team dealt with it so well. The room was so clean! Cleaning staff were so polite and tidy and friendly. Even the nighttime staff when I ordered a cheeky mc donalds were helpful and smiley at midnight lool. I really had the best time. I'll be back! Also, there are no carpets in the room, just good wipeable flooring, which, for me, was the reason AC secured my initial booking!

Nothing - exceeded my expectations.

Staff very friendly, lots of towels and amazing decorations on the bed thanks to cleaning staff,very clean, barman was amazing made my favourite cocktail and breakfast manager was very welcoming.

Hairdryer did not work,lighting was difficult to switch on as if had main light on the side lights didn't work,nice touch with the fridge but very noisy at night, view from room was a roof no ventilation only aircon,very noisy neighbours disturb sleep,tea and coffee facilities were next to the door and on a high shelf if you were a short person be difficult to reach.

We encountered an issue with the lifts on arrival, but the receptionist was very friendly and helpful, which was a great start to our day. Our room was spacious and well-equipped with everything we needed, though it would have been nice to have a few extra tea sachets and some biscuits provided as a thoughtful touch. We added breakfast to our stay on the day, and there was plenty to choose from. However, I felt the buffet could have been a bit hotter. The hotel itself was clean and tidy, with beautiful surroundings in a great location. I couldn’t fault the staff for their attentive care and attention to detail. We had a great nights sleep and it was a very quiet hotel.

The hotel was in a perfect location, we didn’t realise how close we were to everything and the vibes all around were fantastic. The room itself was very clean, spacious and comfy. As a coffee lover, I was happy to see that there was a coffee shop attached to the hotel.

My wife and I came for our 1 year anniversary (which we had also noted in our booking). When checking in, we were quite disappointed as Nisha (the lady checking us in) did not have a smile on her face nor did she give us a warm welcome. It felt as though she did not want to be there. When giving us our room key card, she told us it was floor 2 but did not tell us the room number nor was it written on the key card which we did not realise until we got up to floor 2. We gave her the benefit of the doubt as we all have bad days at work. However, her demeanour was the same throughout our stay and felt as though we had done something to offend her.

Location, high finish standard to everything. Great amenities. Very tentative staff also. Top marks to staff they are brilliant. Massive rooms beds are huge. Really impressed.

I had one big issue during my stay, you sent me an email to pre book parking with no attached link so I couldn’t pre book. I was flabbergasted at the price in the morning. £25 is ridiculous when you claim to have parking. It’s false advertising in my opinion. It’s a quarter of the price of the room again and left me with a sour taste in my mouth. So although I think the hotel is great. I wouldn’t stay again for that simple fact

went on the 20th the pretty lady brown skinned young girl and Jibrel lovely checked me in earlier , checked me and my boyfriend in. Didn’t catch her name but was nice speaking to someone friendly and helped me with a later check out. Last time i stayed it was them two aswell and she’s relaxed but in a way where it makes u feel like ur speaking to a friend xxx

the tv wouldn’t connect with phone which was a bit annoying i think it was just unlucky with room type

Everything! The location was perfect, everything was very clean and comfortable. The room and bathroom were a very good size too. We paid extra in the morning for full breakfast too which was very good. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly, but I’d like to give a particular shoutout to Ian, who had been absolutely lovely and responsive to our questions before we arrived, and greeted us so warmly even when we checked in late at night due to train delays.

We were greeted and assisted by TALAR during our check in and she immediately made us at ease, very accommodating and proactive on what we need. She is very efficient in her job. The hotel is close to loads of cafe and restaurants so it is very accesible

Breakfast, not much option. We came about 30mins before they stop serving and the ladies serving the bfast did look like they were not happy about it and it showed, apart from that the rest is okay.
