I liked that it wasn’t over priced That although not luxury it was tidy, clean and very traditional. It wasn’t hotel chic however it was a little bit rustic. Fully equipped and in beautiful grounds. We had a basic double room and I did forget to take photos on arrival so I did take some before leaving so the room doesn’t look quite as pristine as it did on arrival The breakfast was cooked fresh for us and it was lovely it was a basic full English . I also made myself toast and I could have had cereal if I’d wanted it. There are lots of lovely little nooks and crannies and I accepted that aesthetically it’s not 5 star and a little dated and some bits a little tired however I didn’t pay 5 star prices , I paid exactly for what I got and will definitely return .

It wasn’t a dislike however my navigation is terrible so did struggle to find my room (no 39) I missed the stairs sign. But my mistake

Very dog friendly from the moment we stepped into reception. Staff in the restaurant were fab. Food was tasty and menu was good. Ok so the place is a little tired but the room was clean and we had plenty of space. I was a bit worried the bed would be too firm but I slept well. Getting from reception to the room was an adventure as the hotel is set around a courtyard so lots of twists and turns to get there. We really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely consider it again for Crufts next year.

Better signage from the main road would be helpful. We got to an open area near something called the dog and doublet and couldn't work out which way to go. You have to stick on Dog Lane ( it becomes a bit like a farm track) and the hotel is right at the end. Similarly, signage for the car park wasn't obvious at 7.30 at night and we ended up in a lower car park which was unlit. Might be a bit worrying for a lone female traveller and again no obvious signs to direct us to reception.

Beautiful little hotel, everything was wonderful and for the price we were extremely impressed indeed. Room was amazing as were all the staff plus we got to enjoy excellent music from the wedding in the courtyard, we even wandered along the canal towpath. Really lovely venue.

There was no evening food due to a stunning wedding buffet, totally understand but as a last second booking we hadn’t checked about food assuming it was available. Our mistake.

Think the last person in the room was a smoker and the smell was still very much in the air. The Room Facilities description said 'Entire unit located on ground floor' and 'Dining area' also it implied the room had a Terrace. None of these were there so it was a bit disappointing. Also from the room to the bathroom the floor was not level (and quite dangerous) and without putting the light on in the night it would be very easy to fall down and break your leg. The shower was a hand-held shower with not much water power.

Room perfect for our stay with a dog. Staff very friendly and it was nice to be able to have our dog with us in the dining room. We dined in the evening the menu was a good choice and the food was lovely. Unfortunately we were unable to have breakfast as we had to leave at 6.30 am. We were competing at Crufts so it was a perfect place to stay with a short distance to the NEC. It was also nice to have the availability to walk the dog around the premises.

Loved the size of the room and that there were doors that opened to the courtyard and a couple of chairs outside to sit and enjoy the sunshine. Staff very friendly. Huge super comfy bed, decent over the bath shower. Pots of tea for breakfast, plenty of toast/cereal.

For the continental breakfast, it would have been nice to have more fresh fruit options (only apples available for our stay) and some sort of pastries. Personally not a fan of the vegetarian sausages that are comprised of vegetables for breakfast - prefer the "fake meat" style. Fruit juice tasted overly sweet like a "juice drink" rather than pure juice. But that's just our personal tastes!

The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. They are all a credit to the hotel. Following a nightmare with a booking on AirBNB, we booked last minute. The accommodation was good and the gardens were beautiful. We were looked after really well by Danny, Nicola, Evie and Nathan. We also had a flat tyre issue and went back to the hotel. They kindly sorted us some sandwiches and hot drinks (prepared by Evie, delish).

We were allocated a very good room for the 2 days that we stayed. the room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was a bit dated and the shower was a little temprimental otherwise everything else was fine. The hotel was ideally situated for my work location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall good value for money

The shower in the bathroom was difficult to operate and could do with regulating as the temperature control was poor. The hotel itself in places look really good and is clean and tidy, however there are areas on the ground floor near the courtyard that need attention. The tennis court is no longer useable and is looking really poor as is some of the grounds around the hotel.

The bed and pillows were comfortable and warm. We had terrace doors onto the courtyard, which was perfect. We had thick curtains, the room & bathroom were spacious and were clean. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and kind! The location and grounds were beautiful and quiet! Breakfast came quickly and was delicious.

The draw knob came off of one draw, and the front came off another, but we fixed it. There was no handle on the terrace door, so it wasn't convenient to shut but not impossible. Although, we went out the terrace door and accidentally shut it and couldn't get back in, but luckily, there was a cleaner around that let us back in, so it was quite funny :)

We had a very pleasant short stay here, it was much quieter than we expected being close to the M42 and it was perfect for us to bring our dog. The Hotel is in need of some modernisation but with the hospitality industry struggling at the moment I imagine that will come eventually. We had lovely walks along the Fazeley Canal, there was a quaint Pub, the Dog & Doublet, nearby and Kingsbury Water parks were within easy walking distance. The Hotel itself was really good value for money although it is looking it's age however this didn't spoil our stay at all and all of the Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The only issue we found was the shower which took an age to warm up and wasn't very powerful but it did get there eventually, I would suggest it's probably wasting a lot of water and energy in it's current state and definitely needs an upgrade.
