3 lots of stairs to bedroom. an old building so to be expected, but staff helped with luggage so manageable

Clean, comfy, airy, quiet room (no 2). Substantial cooked breakfast. Spacious shower cubicle. Friendly staff.

Dried bloodstain on hand towel (fortunately there was a spare). Crack in washbasin. Kettle would not switch off. Furniture looks worn. Full-body mirror propped against wall rather than being fixed to anything - bit of a hazard! Just little things, but a bit of attention to detail would really make a difference.

Easy to find after a day at the NEC. The food was top class. Comfortable and spotlessly clean. The landlord, landlady, and their staff were lovely and went over and above to make our stay a good one. It's a very old, very well run pub... keep that in mind, and you won't be disappointed with a stay here.

There were a few maintenance issues in our room, but nothing major, and the landlord took it on board with good humour.

We managed to get a family room and it was lovely and spacious with a good view. It's really hot and so we were very glad to be able to open both sides of the window. The breakfast was amazing. There were cereals and juices on the bar but you could get a full English, cooked to order. We had dinner in the restaurant and the chef actually came out to hear our thoughts on the minted lamb chops. I've never had such a big piece of lamb before. Parking was free and plentiful. There was a lot of outdoor seating, which is great when the weather is hot. The pub has a lot of old features. I especially like the wooden fireplace in the dining area, which was hidden away behind boards and only discovered when they added the high ceilinged conservatory. It's 10 mins away from the NEC and very easy to find, which was great for us.

Good location situated 5 minutes from the M6 and 20 minutes from the airport. The room was clean and warm with tea & coffee facilities the bed was comfy, bathroom was good size with a nice shower. The breakfast was freshly cooked and plenty of it (full english). Selection of juices & cereals available also. All good and would stay again.

I havnt anything to say as I found it was spot on for my 2 night stay.

We stayed for crufts and we found here very friendly staff, a delicious and very generous breakfast and a lovely pub with a homey vibe. brilliant prices for breakfast included, my partner and I hope to stay again next year! room was also clean, neat and tidy with a fairly spacious shower. Thank you!

Everything was clean beds were relatively comfy breakfast was nice x

The walls were quite thin and we could hear people in the next room talking and laughing til about 3-4am also there was a weird humming noise that we could hear as well that gave me a headache. I took a shower whilst I was there and it didn't drain very well ending up standing in what felt like a bath and almost slipped but luckily didn't

Breakfast and Evening meal was very good and value for money and the rooms were clean.

Only comments I would make is that certain parts of the pub and accommodation are looking there age, it would be great to come back and see this pub modernised and looking fresh as I believe it is in a great location, especially to the NEC show ground in Birmingham.

The breakfast was lovely, and the staff very friendly. The room was great, with a lovely view, and the bed very comfortable.

My only small issue was that, twice, I messaged the property through the Booking site with a couple of questions but I receive a reply to either message. In the end I had to ring to get answers to my questions but this was my only issue and really something for the property to look into.

I didn't complain but the shower water was too hot no instructions how to use shower but all 3 of us no matter how we tried the water wasn't a safe temperature it was burning hot
