I was attending meeting at the BCEC and this hotel is in an excellent position right next door. There's also an NCP car park next to the BCEC too if you are driving, so all in all the location was ideal. The Bullring and shops are just a 5 minute walk from the hotel too. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food in the restaurant at dinner and breakfast was very good (gluten free cereal etc. available at breakfast). Bed was very comfortable and the shower was particularly powerful.

I was given a room on the "S" floor. This seems to be a slightly cramped level between ground and the first /upper floor. My only view was of air conditioning units and the odd pigeon, which was a little disappointing (the view, not the pigeon). If you want a decent view ask for a high floor when you check in.

The room was nice with comfy beds. There was lots of extras such as water in the fridge and robes in the wardrobe. The breakfast was so good, so much choice and great quality. It was very close to the train station and shops. Really powerful shower. Overall very good and would go back.

The pinned question on booking.com gives wrong information about where to park which was really unhelpful. Staff at the hotel helped once we arrived though. The TV was not positioned well in the room in relation to the beds. The scrambled egg was really cold at breakfast. All just small things that could be improved, but would not stop us revisiting!

We didn't have breakfast but the location was perfect for New Street station and all the things we wanted to do in Birmingham and the room was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed.

We had booked a twin room but were allocated a double, which meant we had to wait for someone to come up from reception to take us to the correct room. Both our room keys didn't work the second day and not everything was topped up on the refreshment tray that day. We didn't expect it to be very quiet at night given that we had chosen to stay right in the centre of the city but our room was very close to the lift which made it extra noisy until about 2.00 in the morning.

I always love the warm and welcoming atmosphere whenever I stay here. From when Kareena and the reception manager helped me check in to when I checked out, the customer service was outstanding. Every staff member goes above and beyond to ensure everything is just right and the room was great, clean and welcoming. A special shoutout to Geoff, and Ashley from the bar and restaurant—they were incredible! The Chicken lollipops were absolutely delicious and improved the whole experience. I also appreciate the convenience of USB connections at the switched socket outlets in the bedroom. Can't wait to come back

Staff were very friendly and helpful on check-in and out. A large, comfortable room which was very clean and looked recently refurbished. Tea and coffee facilities, a safe, iron and refrigerator were all in the room. Lots of well-placed sockets and USB sockets for charging devices. Very important! A full-length mirror for getting ready, which was just about close enough to the socket for using the hairdryer - also very important - although there was also a second smaller mirror which was closer. I prefer not to have a drench shower as I don't like them when I'm not washing my hair, as they always seem to drip even if using the alternative shower head, so I was pleased there was not one in the bathroom. There were two shower heads - a high and low detachable one for rinsing the bath - as well as the bath taps. I was also delighted that the body wash, shampoo and conditioner were all separate - and not a 'one size fits all' product, and they were actually all different with lovely fragrances. Have focused a lot on the practicalities and layout of the room, but when using a hotel as a base to get ready for going out, it is important to me that a room provides the same ease of getting ready as in my own bedroom, and this one did.

The aircon in the room didn't work and so the first night the room got rather warm. The second night I discovered the windows weren't fixed panels, as I'd thought, so opened one and had to put up with the street noise but at least the temperature was more comfortable. I did report it to Reception after the first night and they said they'd send someone to look at it, but either they didn't or they couldn't fix it in time.

The room was clean and comfortable. I needed a quiet room as I am not a brilliant sleeper. It was quiet, but they kindly provided earplugs in case I needed them (thank you, most thoughtful)! I didn't book breakfast; I missed that bit in the booking process. Then, I decided that almost £16 pp for brekkie was a bit steep, so I had coffee and pastry elsewhere. The location is a 20-minute trundle with a suitcase in tow from the Coach Station, but it was no hardship. My favourite bit - the water pressure in the shower is glorious. I want that at home!!

Due to refurbishment, the central heating was replaced by a stand-alone oil heater. It was not ideal, but it was close to freezing outside, so I was grateful to have it. I was unaware of any refurbishment work happening whilst I was there, so it was not an inconvenience.

We were just in the city for a little over nighter for shopping the next day so we weren't looking for much. But the hotel exceeded all expectations. We thought it'd maybe be a little tired being so central but it was modern, clean.. a little fancy if I'm honest. The rooms were great again, clean, tidy and modern and had everything we needed. The location and parking was 10/10 and for this, if I was coming back to Birmingham, I'd stay here. Grand central station is literally outside (though you don't hear it) and the bullring is 5/10 min walk. Thanks for our stay!

We have stayed at the hotel before as we love the location. The reception staff are always very helpful and check you in quickly. This time the weather was poor so we decided to dine in the hotel which we really enjoyed, Geoff was brilliant as we said we needed food asap due to needing to leave earlier to get to the show we booked and he went out of his way to get us our food and quick. After the show we then decided to drink in the hotel bar avoiding the bad weather and the bar staff were great. Room was clean and bed was comfortable! Would visit again :-)
