I used to be stationed in Germany many years ago. I booked this hotel on the reviews of the breakfast...and it was the most amazing German breakfast...exactly how I remembered. The assortment of meats, cheeses, breads, fruits, cereals, jams, drinks (and an egg, cooked to your liking) The owner spoke excellent English, and spoke with all of his guests. Amazing customer service. The check in was automated, and very easy to use. When you make your reservation, screenshot the code that is sent to you. Very easy process. The buildings in Rothenburg are very old. The room we had was updated...but understand none of them are going to be modern. (When I lived in Germany, bathrooms used to be down the hall, and shared.) There is also a restaurant down the side street that has the most amazing dinner. Great location, great service, great value, and an even better breakfast.

Lovely hotel in the heart of the old town of Rothenburg so all the sightseeing can be done on foot. There is not a 24/7 open reception but a cash machine like key dispersal machine which works just fine. Another advantage are the parking spaces to the back of the hotel though there are only a few. Our room was spacious and clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast buffet had everything you could need and bread especially was very tasty. If I come again, I'll stay again.

As it is an old house the staircase can be a little challenging however this is more than compensated by the quaint charme of the place.

The room was nicer als expected, the flow of the shower was great and warm, the bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Decent coffee machine.

The wifi was not so reliable (the connection was often interrupted); the head of the bed close to the window was not ideal, as the car noise was quiet loud in the afternoon and it prevented me to take a nap. Breakfast was acceptable but nothing special; I asked for scrambled eggs and I got a plain omelette instead (not by mistake, this is how they do scrambled eggs). No toaster available in the breakfast room.

The location is great. There was also a very good breakfast, although no gluten free options other than eggs and yogurt. There was parking available.

The property is very old and has not been updated. Bare bones rooms, only one pillow per person, worn carpet, old beds. Just very old with no updates. It was clean. There is a weird vending machine type check in when you get there, so no real person. No one to ask for anything you might need until breakfast in the morning.

The location just inside the village walls was excellent for the short walk to the market square. The cathedral was on the same street past the tower. You are in the authentic part of historical Rothenburg when you stay here! Our room was adequate size with table and chairs along with the bed. Everything was clean. The breakfast was excellent, with breads, meats, cheese, fruit, cereal, yogurt and eggs. Coffee and tea. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We parked outside the wall, but it was nearby, so no problem. Could drive to the door with our luggage.

Very cozy and quirky room, close to pedestrian streets in the old city. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The self check in was extremely easy to use and offers you the flexibility, in case of late arrival.

Breakfast was outstanding. Breads, Brötchen, sweet breads, cheeses, meats, fresh fruit and veg, eggs cooked to order, any kind of hot beverage, juices, yogurt, cereal. Wonderful. Our room was bright and airy with plenty of space for three adults. The bathroom was immaculate. The building itself is very old but our room was updated with clean, light finishes while still retaining some authentic charm. The proprietor was so gracious and friendly. She is a kind person. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The only window faces the internal shaft. Everything is a bit worn out, but still works fine. Rather not for anything beyond overnight stay.

Good location to the city center.

Small rooms, no refrigerator, no iron, no drawer space for clothes and limited floor space so if you lived out of your luggage, there was very little room to walk.

The location inside the walls was tremendous, especially the ease of parking in a very central location. This is a classic place to stay for an authentic German style stay. All location in old town are accessible by very short walks. Breakfast was first class. Auto check in was painless. Breakfast was first class. The owner and staff accessible, friendly and very helpful
