We enjoy the calmness of this place. Already been here 3 times. Food is also great at their restaurant. Beach front rooms and the cute little beach with amazing views.

We just want to remind for the staff try to be a bit more friendly to all your guests. While I was at reception to check us in my husband and kids went to the restaurant and they had a bit rude first expression by the waiter. For example he just pointed out where is the menu’s when my kid was asking for them so my small boy carried 4 heavy menus by himself to the table. Later was really friendly though.. Also we have been here 3 times already and 2/3 times we’ve had problems with toilet not flushing well. And cleaning always could be a bit better. But it’s good enough.

This is a great smaller hotel and I'd happily stay here again. The hotel / resort itself is smallish but well positioned on the coast with great sea breezes. The grounds are mostly grass but have some garden beds and lots of palm trees. All rooms face the ocean except for a couple of the older style and their front verandahs had views. The little beach is just off the bottom of steps at the front of the property and that was lovely for a swim, if a bit rough. The pool is small but wasn't crowded when we were there. It's nice and cool - some pools in Bali are like bath water but this was nice and refreshing. The restaurant is large with inside and outside seating, and some blocking glass panes for protection from the weather if needed. The food was great - lots of choice and all delicious, and reasonably priced. Best black rice pudding ever. It's a bit isolated with only a couple of little restaurants near it but we didn't need to go anywhere else. We had a suite room which had the most amazing view of the water from our bed. These rooms are at the western end of the property and have a little more privacy (pool is in the eastern area and you can see into the ground level rooms there). Our room was large with large cupboard area, an alcove day bed, a couple of seats on the little verandah and an outdoor bathroom with a small enclosed rocky garden. We had a massage in the beach hut which was good and reasonably priced.

Minor things: Synthetic sheets were not as cool or comfortable as cotton (I understand they last a lot longer than cotton, and they were still OK, I just prefer cotton). Room cleaning left all doors and windows open so mosquitoes kept getting in. Location is not in the main area of Candi Dasa (next cove nearest to the lotus pond) and it's not really walkable in the heat - this was fine for a couple of days but if I was staying longer, I would have needed to get transport around.

We travelled with 2 families and we really enjoyed Amarta. The location was a little bit far away from the main street to walk with the kids, but there were good restaurants and shops within walking distance. The pool was beautiful and clean. We had the last 2 villas down the ed - that was good for the kids to play on the grass out the front without disturbing anyone else. Not a huge range on the menu - but we didn't expect it from a smaller place. It was tasty! Amazing coffee up the road at Mandira Coffee

Although I was on holiday, I still had some emails that had to be answered - we could only get wifi at the restaurant. Wasn't a huge issue though.

The location! Down a quiet side street with a handful of delicious warungs and a d mart in short walking distance. The on site massage service is wonderful. LGBT friendly

The staff were pretty rude by indo standards. We had to specifically ask for our towels to be replaced after 4 days when they were ready to walk themselves out of the room. Toiletries were not replaced and our toilet roll holder that broke on day 1 wasn’t fixed until day 4.

Good food, helpful staff, clean beach.

We loved our stay at Amarta Beach Cottages. They are situated right on the beach front where there is some great snorkeling and swimming. We enjoyed the sound of the waves crashing against the wall at high tide. The sea is a beautiful blue color. The cottages are serviced everyday. The staff are kind and friendly and help you to organize scooters or taxi services. They serve a simple but adequate breakfast every morning which was included in our stay. I can highly recommend..great value for money. We would stay again if we came to the area. If you have time you must visit Virgin beach a few kilometers away.

Stunning location right on a beautiful beach with great snorkeling. Nice small streets nearby with excellent restaurants.

Would prefer if they were eco-conscious and gave us refillable glass bottles rather than plastic ones. Bali has way too much plastic now and there should be no new plastic circulating.

Lovely modern bedroom area with full glass windows and door that offers a fine view overlooking the ocean, along with a nice beach.

The breakfast choices were rather limited and the reception area and restaurant could do with a face-lift. Nevertheless, a reasonable choice for a mid-range hotel in this area. The room was cleaned each day during my 3 day stay but the towels were not changed. The staff were friendly and helpful.

It is in the most beautiful location, fantastic snorkelling off the beach and lovely manicured grounds. All the staff are super friendly. Great food at their restaurant. Did not eat anywhere else while we were there. Love staying there....we will be back!

Beautiful sandy beach swimmable all tides, big rooms, lovely clean pool, delicious breakfast, amazing location, quiet and right on the beach

Outside lights go all night and with the thin curtains it keeps the room lit up, need water dispenser to save plastic, smell from shower drain
