Room & Bed absolutely Spotless and has been the case every time my wife & I stayed over the years, being caught in motorway traffic we could collect our key late, the add on breakfast is faultless as is the staff who serve, they cannot do enough to oblige…i.e friendly & helpful and polite at all times. We have now moved back up from London to the surrounding area and we still pop over to visit the Highfield for Breakfast or a meal with our 2 dogs…and the bar guy always brings them bowl of fresh water and a tickle, what more can you ask for as a customer !! Cannot fault the Highfield and we’ve stayed dozens of times over the years even at the busiest of times, even my wife has stayed on her own…no problem.
I honestly would say if there was a tiny detail…but …

Nice clean rooms, very comfortable ideal place to stay for business or pleasure. Staff friendly if you book room only they do offer the breakfast menu at a cheaper price if ordered and eaten im the bar area
I emailed hotek and asked if possible for same room as previous stay a few weeks earlier gave booking details for both previous and at that time future booking.but thry ssid could not find rithrr booking. Arrived at hotel and allocated room 8 not a problem I thought. Friday evening music from the quiz was so loud i had to remove hearing aids. As it does get moisy at the weekend I would not want yo have this room again. Although it dud quieten diwn after 10pm.

The room was spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. I couldn't open the window and when I asked for it to be fixed it wasn't during my stay but the staff were busy as it was Saturday night. It was room 11 so please fix your window. Biscuits in the room and fresh milk offered would be great although there is a bar and food downstairs and a vending machine if needed. It is dog friendly which was great for us with open space around to walk your dog but you do need to clean up all the glass in the green areas and car park as it is a danger for kids and dogs.

The room was modern, space was tight, a typical double room, had a desk and table which was good, could do some of my business work, linen and towels were clean, bonus was a bath tub in the bathroom, which was a surprise, staff were cold, could do with a smile and upfront with information, like had to ask them the wifi passwords, timing for breakfast etc,,,,, on the whole the hotel is comfortable for a couple and short stays
location was far from the town center, was a 1.5 miles away, didn't mind the walk but for those who are wishing to be close to the town center, be aware there is good 20 min walk, food was average pub food, good décor and the ambience was good. had dinner and breakfast. There were some engineers staying in the hotel who came to the breakfast with the dirty coveralls, and sitting on the chairs, I don't mind coveralls but should be clean and its certainly unhygienic to be dining with soiled coveralls. Maybe something to make guests aware of this protocol

The staff were excellent.... Very helpful and accommodating - managed to check in a little bit early as well, can't thank them enough to be honest, It's actually a very nice pub/hotel, The room was spotlessly clean, Free car park!
Not really their 'fault' I suppose, but I'm 6' 4" and the bed was a little small. Room was quite hot and we couldn't open the windows far enough to let a bit of a breeze in... Breakfast was 'okay', nothing more unfortunately. And for a midweek stay in Middlesbrough, I found it to be very expensive....

Great staff, nice atmosphere
On Saturday and Sunday I was locked out of my room, on Saturday I was told that the system thought I had booked out and for Sunday I was told that maybe my phone had been too close to my key card, I had gone for a walk my phone was in one pocket and my key card was in another either way I got the impression I was the problem. Locked out twice in 2 days is a little too much.

Absolutely amazing hotel/pub! Stayed one Saturday night and it was very entertaining. So much going on it was impossible to be bored! Even live music :) Lovely weather so was able to sit out side, tables plentiful for everyone:) Rooms perfectly fine and everything you need with comfy beds and large tv, coffee, tea etc. Meals at the hotel was really nice and lots of it. Great prices throughout. Large cocktails only 3.99 and the best 👌 Oh and lovely hot water for bath/shower. I will be definitely staying again. Ps. Only a short drive to the beaches.
Absolutely loved my stay :)

The Room was Clean/Comfortable & Warm, Tea & Coffee supplies available. Bed was very comfortable with extra Pillows & Blankets if required. A wide range of Food available for Breakfast, well presented & cooked well.
I can honestly state that I could not find a fault with my Stay, that is why I am a regular Visitor to this Hotel, as I travel up to Middlesbrough to see my Family & Friends approx. every 6-8 Weeks throughout the Year.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, easy parking.Good choice items for breakfast hot and cold. Restaurant at hotel had good choices reasonably priced. Central enough to explore an array of surrounding locations within an hr drive.
A few of the chairs in the pub were stained on seats, but easy enough to swop over for a cleanet one.

Staff very friendly. Lovely chambermaids helped me upstairs with suitcase. Great atmosphere, casual, laid back, lively, lots of local people using pub facilities and restaurant. Never felt alone. Never felt uncomfortable on my own. Like a big house party. My single room was a bit small but cosy. Toilet flushing in room 24 needs some repair. Comfortable beds. I moved to double room with single beds on third day which I arranged myself because stayed longer. Room was huge as was bathroom, fantastic. Lovely bath and hot water. Generous food menu and inexpensive. Enjoyed by locals and residents alike. Large car park, bus stop close by and close to town and James Cook Hospital, five minutes by taxi. Live music Saturday night. Rooms quiet.
Toilet flushing in room 24 needs attention. Stairs for older people or disabled may be difficult. No lift. Need to check with hotel before booking if easy access rooms available.
