Beautiful property in lovely grounds with plenty of parking. Near the village but still with a countryside feel. Inside was clean and well maintained. My request for a downstairs, dog friendly room was met extremely well. All the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. I had one problem with my tv remote being unable to access subtitles (I need them) and a new remote control was put into my room on the first morning of my 3 night stay so I was able to watch tv when relaxing in my room. They provided extra towels for the bathroom (shower screen was letting water onto the floor) and offered to come and fix it but I didn’t want to be disturbed so they were happy to leave extra towels for me. I was with friends in the hotel for two nights but on my third night they had left. I wanted to dine in my room with my dogs and the lovely man in the restaurant organised my supper and delivered it as promised at 7pm. Nothing was too much trouble for the whole staff. I loved my stay and was comfortable, warm and relaxed. I must mention evening suppers and breakfasts which were just amazing! My breakfasts were included in my room price and really set me up for the day. Huge choice of food and all well prepared and presented. The restaurant supper menu was varied and everything i had during my 3 night stay was delicious and well cooked!
It was literally the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in with my 3 dogs… I loved it and will definitely stay again if I am back in the area in future!

Regular visitors to attend the gigs there so know the score - rooms are basic but when you're not really spending much time there, it's ok, bed and shower both top notch... Food is excellent value with such friendly and attentive staff - we had fish pie which was 'as your mum would've cooked it' simply luscious, followed by Crème brûlée which was lovely and exactly as you'd want it to be... Breakfast is fantastic, only niggle the self service toaster which doesn't really get hot enough to actually toast! Minor complaint tbh, the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs was to die for!

Lovely hotel, well set out and beautifully decorated. Room was really nice with amazingly comfortable bed. Special mention to the staff - every one was very friendly and exceptionally helpful.
Disappointed with the food, £24 for 2 lamb cutlets at dinner seemed expensive to us. Added the chicken to the curry for an additional £4 and there were 4 cubes of chicken hidden underneath the curry. Breakfast was a let down. The continental selection is good, however the cooked breakfast felt as though it had been deep fried. Bacon was pretty much inedible, sausage was pink on the inside and potato scone was rock hard and swimming in fat.

From arrival to departure, we were welcomed and looked after. The staff were great, kind, competant and upbeat. There were lovely garden grounds for a trundle with our elderly dog, who was welcomed and admired. A table was set for us in the bar so we could have him with us for breakfast. The breakfast was really delicious. They totally knocked it out of the ball park and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would happily book again.

Breakfast was brilliant, the hotel was nice and quiet. The bar was perfect with lots of choice. The staff are the real asset, everyone was warm and friendly
A small point is cleanliness. The bed was perfect, crisp white sheets and lovely decor. Facilities in the room were brilliant. Not enough to ever leave a poor review like some choose to, but the dirt around the window frames, grout in the bathroom, and the dust in the radiators could be easily rectified to make it outstanding

The second time we have stayed here and first time over Christmas. The staff are it's greatest asset, very friendly and professional. The food is good and great range of drinks at the bar. Breakfast is outstanding.
The room has had a redecoration, but the bathroom could do with a revamp as it's looking abit tired (the door in room 11 keeps opening on it's own), coat hooks and hangers in the room would be a welcome addition for those who travel from further from home.

Bedroom was clearly newly refurbished. There was a good walk-in shower (I prefer this to an over bath shower).. Bed was very comfy. Hotel seemed very popular with locals. Plenty of parking. Garden. Its a good location to break a journey a few miles from the motorway.
Signage to bedrooms was confusing. I would have liked a shelf for toiletries inside the shower cubicle (there was nowhere to put shampoo etc), and I feel more secure with a grab rail to hang on to. But these things could easily be sorted. I would stay again.

Excellent breakfast. Comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Strathaven is a pleasant town to visit.
Booking.com quoted a price of £202 for two nights. There was an inexplicable £20 added for cleaning that wasn’t shown on the original quote (added before our stay so not down to anything we have done). I’ve never seen a separate cleaning charge added to a bill before. Why didn’t booking.com quote the actual price?

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the setting of the hotel is wonderful especially on a lovely sunny day. The food at the wedding and the breakfast in the morning was excellent.
Some of the finishes are a bit tired and dirty, one of the corridors leading to our bedroom had a strong smell of stale cigarettes coming off the carpet and curtains. The landing carpet was very dirty. Bedroom - carpet hadn’t been hovered or the floor in the bathroom cleaned. The black mould on the grouting should have been cleaned off, hook on the back of the toilet door hanging off. Curtains - hanging down at one end and window very stiff. TV remote was dirty All of the items with the exception of the carpets, highlighted should be easy to fix with some routine maintenance and a better cleaning regime.
