We love this place have stayed several times before

Room 14 the shower room needs a maintained man and a clean. Fixtures missing from toilet . Pole in shower not attached to walk and bottom of shower wher it joins floor n door dirty

Excelllent breakfast, very convenient room. Staff very helpful and evening meal at adjoining restaurant was very good. Room spacious, with comfortable bed and good shower. Easy to get to and depart from and potentially quieter than staying directly in Northampton, with a nice atmosphere in the adjoining - but separate - pub area and restaurant.

Unfortunately the property traps heat - excellent in winter, but less favourable on hot and humid summer days/nights. The room includes a fan, however, which provided cooling at the (relatively minor) expense of background hum.

The rooms are comfy and have what you need for an overnight stay. The breakfast is always delicious. We liked that they called us on Sunday afternoon as we only booked on Sunday to inform us that the kitchen closed at 5 30pm and the bar at 6.30pm. This meant we had to make alternative arrangements for an evening meal but at least we were prewarned. We possibly might have cancelled but we booked the room that we couldn't cancel as it was such last minute and we knew we wouldn't need to cancel so a little disappointing that we had to find somewhere else to eat.

The room was beautiful, the bath was shorter than usual which is something great for a tiny person, the grounds were beautiful, we accidentally left a box behind snd couldn't return to get it so the hotel kindly agreed to post it to us which we could not be more grateful for.

I couldn't tell how the room was heated and it didn't really feel like I was controlling anything despite there being a thermostat, maybe a sign to explain? The toilet was also really hard to flush, the bed was also really hard which I know is common in hotels but this one seemed exceptional. My husband slept just fine though

The property was fantastic. The rooms were in a separate building to the pub, so no noise issues. Our room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pub food smelled amazing. We could order a taxi from a device on Reception. Would happily book again.

It was a bit far from where we were going but as a last minute booking due to previously booked accommodation letting us down, it was an absolute lifesaver.

Rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Full English breakfast cooked to perfection. Beautifully located in the countryside it has a wonderful combination of coziness and history.

Our dinner dining experience was not on the same level as past years; ingredients, menu selection and preparation were not the same high standard. Over the festive period breakfast was reduced to a 30 minute window.

Great location and good value for money.

Breakfast is incredibly expensive for what you get, there is one staff member on duty who has to replenish items, check people out, deliver food and take empty plates away. The quality of the items isn’t great, the orange juice is from concentrate, and you may struggle to find a clean gloss Would definitely stay here again, but would avoid breakfast but if you really want to try breakfast, then definitely book through Booking.com as it’s cheaper than booking at the restaurant itself.

Breakfast was cooked fresh. Good choice of cereal on offer. Additional butter for toast would have been nice, but I admit I didn't request extra. Once again I was taken out for dinner so could not comment

Not a fan of the coffee in the jug style. My personal choice would be to have options, I personally like cappuccino. The coffee available was warm and bitter

nice place in the country, as it was October didn't venture far, great restaurant adjoining where we ate at night and also breakfast, loved the evening meal. Good choice of breakfast. Large room with plenty of space for luggage , I think there are only around 20 rooms so quite nice and small. Pub is also adjoining so had a John Smiths or 2. Would stay there again for a 1 night trip.

my toast wasn't buttered very well but I got over it and Netflix wouldn't load, but they are just minor things but drop from a 9 rating to an 8 .

Stayed for one night with my husband, but also met family at the restaurant for a meal. The food was lush, but my family were a little disappointed at the costs for their meals (they've not been there before). Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast in the morning was good, an ample amount for the full English with options like toast, cereal and fruit. Staff very friendly.

The bed base in our room (no.9) was awfully creaky. However, the bed and bedding itself was comfortable. We would stay again if the opportunity arose.
