We absolutely loved this hotel. Although our room didn’t face Mt. Hakodate, it overlooked the sea, which was stunning, especially at night. The room was spacious, and the facilities were excellent. Everything was well-maintained, which we truly appreciated. We especially loved the thoughtful touches, like the ability to choose from a wide range of pillows on the second floor and the aroma service. These personal touches made the stay feel extra special and elevated the overall experience. The breakfast was decent, but I’d rate it a 3/5. While there was a lot of variety, the taste was just okay for us. The sashimi bar was a highlight for many guests, but we felt that the salmon and tuna sashimi weren’t of the highest grade - they seemed more like frozen options. That said, we may be nitpicking, as we noticed other guests enthusiastically piling their plates with ikura and sashimi. We think the breakfast could benefit from adding grilled seafood options, like yaki hotate, to cater to guests who aren’t keen on raw food but still want to enjoy seafood dishes. The bathing facilities were fantastic. Everything was clean, and the amenities provided were top-notch. The semi-open onsen on the top floor was incredibly relaxing, great atmosphere and it was definitely a highlight of our stay. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again when I visit Hakodate!

There wasn’t much to dislike about this hotel, but the slow elevators (only three in total) were a minor inconvenience. We often had to wait around five minutes, regardless of the time, though we understand this might be unavoidable given how busy the hotel is. Another downside was the buffet breakfast staff. They were a little slow to clear plates, and while I noticed they saw the empty dishes, they often walked away without collecting them. We even saw a few guests, including ourselves, resorting to placing dirty plates on the trolley themselves.

I booked 2 rooms (premier deluxe twin) for 3 nights in December 2024. Hakodate is my first stop in my 2 weeks Hokkaido trip. The breakfast is so very exceptional! This hotel’s exceptional breakfast sets the standard so high that none of the hotels in our Hokkaido trip could match. When we had our breakfast in our next destination (in Noboribetsu), my elder son’s face is so black! Hahaha! If you are planning your trip, you might want to put this hotel as the last hotel. Room is of good size. Bright and gives very good view. Beds are comfy. Toilets are very clean. The onsen pools are new and big. In my trip, my favourite onsen pool is Noboribetsu Grand Hotel’s sulphur pool. If I am back in Hakodate, I will stay in this hotel again.

This hotel has 3 coin washing machine cum dryer. If you want to use them, you have to be early.

The hotel room is small but has everything you need. Bathroom is nicely designed with a good functional shower. Buffet breakfast was clearly the winner. There were chefs present who would slice sashimi for you on demand and make you pancakes and many more items.

The hotel is probably short of staff to handle the amount of guests. We had to wait over 20 mins for a table for breakfast and we got a queue number like many others who needed to wait outside the restaurant. Even extra pillows were on a first come first serve basis until they ran out because the ones provided were so flat and soft without any support to the neck. No one helped you with luggage. You were quite expected to do everything on your own after check in. Location is also a little off where the main attractions are.

The hotel is centrally located within easy walking distance of Hakodate Station. It location is between the seafood market on one side and the red brick warehouses on the other. Hakodate is an interesting city which is well worth a visit. we only stayed for one night but intend to return and spend a couple nights on our next trip. A pleasant surprise was that the breakfast was one of the best that we had during our trip to Japan. Front desk was well organised and efficient.

In the same trip at Hakodate 3 nights; I stayed at 2 hotels which this hotel is the later one. I was so surprised on the breakfast buffet in a large and well decorated restaurant. I truly believed that for the breakfast here, it is exceptional as they offered variety of choices, tasty, and more over it's nicely decorated in detailed in each serving and in the buffet lines. The onsen also large and the roof top was very nice. To rank hotels in Hakodate; I would give this hotel as #1.

I cannot recall on what I don't like. May be the parking that we have to park at P2 that a bit far from the hotel building but anyway, it is just 3 mins walk and on the way to the morning market. Anyway, this place may consider a bit far from the Red Bricks Warehouse area but near to the morning market.

Breakfast was amazing. I love salmon roe and champagne (stayed during the new year). Also the onsen was great, big territory and some semi private space there too. The view was also beautiful. We had a city view with some seaside views as well. I am sure the mountain view is great too. The hotel is close to the sea and major restaurants and shopping river side. I recommend this hotel.

That onsen closes too early but it's not a big deal. Nothing to dislike. Maybe it would have been great to have more options for the dinner or lunch time but the hotel is close to the river side where are a lot of restaurants.

This very modern hotel is located very close to Hakodate station and overlooking the harbour. Our room was a good size and tastefully decorated and furnished and the beds were particularly comfortable. The highlight of the hotel for me was the baths, which were fantastic, particularly the open air outdoor bath with the chill wind whistling past and views over the town. The other highlight was the breakfast buffet, which offered all types of Japanese and western alternatives, and was one of the most comprehensive buffets I have seen during my travels. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this very reasonably priced hotel staffed by very pleasant and helpful people.

Due to big wind and snow in Hakodate, we did not get a chance to visit Mt. Hakodate, but spent most of time in hotel today. Fortunately we booked a Premier Delux Twin room on 12F, with good view and space, plus the nice facility to ensure we had a good stay in the city. 1. The hot spring is super nice. Starting from 14F, then extend to the roof on the 15F. With a good view on Mt. Hakodate and the harbor. 2. Breakfast is wonderful too. 3. Staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend for you to stay here when visit Hakodate!

Around 500m from JR Station. It is definitely ok in good weather. A little challenging in big snow or you have big luggage. You can actually easily spend JPY 600 to hire a taxi to bring you to the Station, so not a big deal.

Hotel is a handy walk from the JR station even in the snow. The room was spacious for Japan standards and very clean. Close to the fish markets and many choices to eat. This would have been of the best breakfast we have had. The selection and freshness was exceptional. So many choices. The Onsen on the top floor was lovely overlooking Mount Hokodate. Definitely gets our recommendation.

The best part about Century Marina hotel was their generous and delicious breakfast buffet! Amazing choices from speciality Japanese dishes, even sashimi and sushi, to French delicacies and tempting pastries and desserts. I was also more impressed after realizing that we left a piece of clothing in the room and managed to find and recover it! The hotel mailed the item to our next destination. Such impeccable service. Thank you!
