The staff at The Anchor were incredibly personable and friendly. They made us feel right at home and were constantly making sure we had everything we needed. Addressing us by our names and making sure the dogs were always being spoilt at the same time. We really felt like we were staying somewhere we were wanted. The food was absolutely phenomenal, great portion sizes, flavourful and kept us coming back for more and more! Bar area facilities were super clean even on a friday/saturday night, toilets were clean and pool table area was kept clean / glassless throughout the night! The room was spotless when we arrived and smelled fantastic, tiny bit of road noise due to the location but with the windows closed you could hardly hear anything. Would highly recommend The Anchor to all friends and family or travelers alike!

Full English breakfast was huge and very tasty. Couldn't finish it. The dinner choices were good and the food was excellent quality and large portions. If you are a fan of jerk, give the king prawn skewers a try. You won't be disappointed. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well. Finally, the staff were all really friendly and helpful.

If you are allocated a room in the building across the road from the Inn, parking can be a bit tight. We parked in the Inn car park so getting our cases across the road and up the narrow twisty staircase was a bit of a faff but not too difficult. To be fair, the lady of the house did escort us across the road and offer to help getting our bags upstairs, so no complaints. The room we stayed in could do with a bit of modernisation but all in all, not bad for the price.

We LOVE the food at the ANCHOR inn , we've been staying there annually for some years now usually around our anniversary in July and occasionally other times too. We love the menu the breakfasts and the staff are lovely . If you need anything they are only too pleased to help. We've always liked the decor. Country style but modern and all the quirky ornaments ( many for sale ) we bought a stag ornament some years back !!

Not really a didn't like but just observations, small details could be attended to blind in room didn't function as no hook to keep it up . Areas of grubbiness in bathrooms . Purely observational as we're not like the folks on four in a bed 🤣🤣

Room was clean and had everything you could need. The bed was comfy and it's a very good distance to Sandringham as we visited for a concert. We stayed for lunch before heading off, the menu was large enough with plenty to choose from and the food was hot and stayed hot which is amazing as no one likes thier food going cold too quick and the price is reasonable. Staff were very friendly, and breakfast was fanatic they catered to my dairy intolerance with oats milk and even made sure the eggs were milk free. Which was something I wasn't expecting and was a great thought. I'd recommend staying here if your visiting Sandringham it's a great base.

The bathrooms need a bit of an upgrade but all the facilities work so it's just aesthetic really.

Everything was fine except my bed. The damp atmosphere in the room seeped through the mattress from underneath once the heating had gone off. The damp hung in the air. It was very uncomfortable throughout the night until the heating came on the next morning. My room, no 8, was in the roof space of the building so most probably wasn’t insulated. There was mould in the bathroom on the floor both sides of the shower. I didn’t get any sleep until just before it was time to get up. And too tired to complain.

The staff and the food is exceptional .we arrived on a Wednesday and luckily our first experience of the Anchor carvery which I know has a massive reputation of being excellent ...it certainly was THE best flavours I've ever had from a carvery outside of home ...the meats and the gravy outstanding and cauli cheese tasted if cheese ...not just a creamy looking sauce ! It was amazing . Breakfasts have always been superb and other meals on offer when we have been previously.

I feel it's time to mention CLEANING !!! We have visited many times and stayed in different rooms . Sad to say I think attention to bathrooms and in general need ramping up , our room was 17 and looked like it hadn't been dusted or vacuumed and the bathroom was grubby , we found it difficult to navigate the bathroom as it was very cramped in the roof space and hubby being 6ft3 .was compromised somewhat. ! Even myself being squeezed in there was a challenge. However we are not complainers and don't want to put anyone off staying whatsoever but just attention to the hygiene and cleanliness would be a fab way moving forward.we wouldn't hesitate to stay again as we have been visiting for many years !

The staff were friendly and welcoming ans nothing was too much trouble. Bed was comfortable and there was a generous supply of towels. Breakfast was exceptional and my furry companion was offered and very much enjoyed his own breakfast sausages. If I ever need to be anywhere in the vicinity in future, I'd have absolutely no hesitation in staying at the Anchor again.

The only minor problem I experienced was that access to my room was via an outside metal staircase and my dog hated it....but was eventually bribed with biscuits to make the ascent/descent when necessary!

It was a great wayside inn. I would prefer accommodation with no stairs, but apart from that, it was a friendly little place. Actually the staff told us they once catered for 700(!), but it gave me the impression of littleness, cosiness. I'd choose it again if I was that way.

That after a long journey we had to climb a narrow staircase. My own fault for not booking earlier. It was a BH after all!

This is a pub with accommodation and as such had everything required for a short stay. The choice of evening food was excellent and very good value with the portions plentiful. The included breakfast was also excellent .

To be fair everything was very good. We had a room overlooking the road which was a little busy in the morning as it’s a rat run thru to kings lynn. This was expected to be expected so didn’t bother us. On a very small point the window could be adjusted to stop the minor draught ? A hook for the towel in the bathroom? But as stated our stay was great .

Very good value with a decent cooked breakfast included in the price. The bed was comfortable and the shower was a reasonable size for a single room. Well stocked coffee and tea-making facilities. Reasonable storage space for clothes.

I stayed in one of the two rooms at the rear of the pub and while it was untroubled by traffic noise or the noise from the pub below, but it was above the kitchen where a generator or extractor fan seemed to be going all night and could be heard even with the window closed
