We absolutely loved our stay at Lantern Boutique Hotel! The rooms were gorgeous – beautifully styled and so comfortable. Its location is ideal: a peaceful stretch of beach just outside of Mirissa, giving you the best of both worlds – tranquillity with easy access to the buzz of the town. The staff were all so lovely and made us feel really welcome from the moment we arrived. There were great options for sun beds, whether you wanted to relax by the beach or the pool. Breakfast was delicious every morning – fresh, varied, and beautifully presented. If I had to be picky, the pool could’ve been a touch cooler – but honestly, everything else was perfect. Would definitely recommend and would love to return one day!

his was our best hotel out of 5 hotels we visited during our 2 week stay in Srilanka. my family consists of 2+2, and the ocean suite on the ground floor was perfect for us. It has direct access to the beach, pool and restaurant through the terrace window which is great when you have kids. The water in the pool is very warm so my kids spend long hours there, it also has two shallow areas which can be great for toddlers or for sunbathing in the shallow water. It is about 20 feet long so it was great for swimming too. The sunbeds were very comfortable and the view of the ocean was perfect. The breakfast consisted of coffee or tea, fresh juice, a fruit plate, a choice of muffin, croissants or my favorite banana bread and one of 11 amazing breakfasts a la carte. As for the noise from the street it wasn't a problem for me, you only notice it during the day if you want to spend some time in silence in your room. When you are next to the pool you will not hear it. At night drivers don't use their horns and the noise from the street is similar to the sound of ocean waves. I regret that I couldn't stay longer.

The hotel is really amazing. Eveything was excellent: the view of and closeness to the beach, the cleanliness of the rooms and the restaurant, the food was amazing and varied, the staff always had a smile on their face. Truly one of the best hotels we stayed at.

We could not swim in the sea by the hotel because it is too rough. The location is a bit outside of the center of Mirissa and getting a tuktuk can be difficult sometimes. Minor issues compared to the overall amazing experience provided by the hotel.

Beautiful room, but expensive for Sri Lanka. Beach was not the cleanest we saw and you could hear the road noise every now and then.

Restaurant was expensive and not authentic, would have been nice to have more local food. Many dogs around the property but this seems to be the case across many of the beaches. Loungers and sofas outside in common areas were not covered overnight, making them uninviting to sit on.

Absolutely wonderful! The place is beautiful, right on the beach. Lovely swimming pools, good food and outstanding service from all of the happy staff. They honestly made the beginning of our holiday! I made a mistake when booking and had reserved a day before we actually arrived, and the terms and conditions with booking stated no cancellation or changing dates and we’re going to charge me 165€ to move the booking back a day but they sorted it for me free of charge. We then got delayed by two days due to our first flight being delayed which meant us missing the connection and having to stay in Istanbul for two nights which meant we had missed our booking entirely which I explained and asked to rebook (as the airline would pay for the days we missed anyway) and they just moved the booking again for us with no charge. All the staff are extremely polite, happy and helpful. One of the best experiences I’ve ever had with a hotel. On top of this, they also gave us a free upgrade!

Everything was perfect. The staff is really nice and helpfull. The beach was probably one of the best in my life. Big, wide, only sand, no trash, big waves. Really recommend this place. It's only 7 rooms I think, so not so many people. Really nice pool, beds on the beach. Food all is good. We stayed on the first floor in suite, so it was really amazing experience.

I don't remember... So probably all those minor things are not worth to mention here.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms are nice and clean, and the breakfast was really good — a great way to start the day. The pool was lovely, and the beachfront location made our vacation perfect. The staff were all very nice and friendly, especially Mr. Hansala, who made our stay easy and enjoyable. Evening! It's the perfect place for a couples holiday. The beach is beautiful and clean. The facilities are gorgeous. It's quiet and peaceful. Breakfast is delicious! Big beautiful room with a lovely terrace. It definitely surpassed our expectations and we plan to come back. Also the staff were amazing, warm, friendly and always happy to help and accommodate us, from the manager to the cleaning staff. Congratulations on such a great hotel!!!

I liked everything, only the bed could be a little bit softer.

Beautiful small hotel on the lovely Marissa beach, very clean and comfortable. Good food and friendly staff. Very touched to be given a birthday cake and the staff sung Happy Birthday to me which made my day! It’s great that the manager is very keen on the turtle conservation programme and we were able to take part in the release of baby turtles into the sea.

It was a lovely hotel with a terrific pool and gorgeous beach view. The staff were really friendly and always helpful. The breakfasts were good. The location was close to various beaches, though not walking distance. Overall, we had a truly wonderful stay.

It would have been nice to have some shops within walking distance. But the hotel staff always had a tuk tuk on hand to go anywhere. The only negative thing is that the noise from the road was loud during the night. That being said, the sound of the beach waves almost balanced out the honking cars and sirens.
