If you are looking for a space away from the business of the city - this is it! Jenny is one of the kindest people I’ve met - and it seems like her energy is infection because the other guests I met on my stay here were just as nice. I traveled up here for a friends wedding - and as a single solo traveller it can always be a little nerve wracking especially if you are also looking for a bit of seclusion to get away from a busy city. I felt so safe staying at Abbey Farm - Jen went above and beyond - and even gave me a lift back to the station! I have very sensitive skin, I didn’t have any issues here. The bed was very clean.
The location can be difficult if you arrive very late or don’t drive. I was looking for something very remote and for that it was perfect - but if you want to travel around the area a bit, defo recommend either driving down or hiring a car.

We really enjoyed our one night stay at Abbey Farm; we stayed in the superior double room which is very spacious and an equally huge en-suite bathroom. Everything was clean, the bed was super-king (or bigger) and super comfortable, and the views across were lovely. We enjoyed sitting in the grounds and Jenny and Bill were lovely hosts; Jenny’s cooked breakfast was absolutely delicious. Very pleased to have found Abbey Farm and would look forward to staying again when we are in the area.

This was the pick of all the outstanding accommodation that we booked in England and Ireland. From the moment of arrival as we viewed the vista of the beautiful building with swans floating on the lake in the background we were wrapped. And it got better - from the time our host welcomed us and took us to our beautiful room overlooking the beautiful surrounds and our ensuite we fell in love with Abbey Farm. The elegant dining room was magical for our delectable made to order breakfasts, again with beautiful vistas and an amazing collection of artifacts. Truly peaceful and special.
We were on a long holiday with large suitcases so the stair climb was a bit of a challenge.

This B&B is a bit magical. The owner, Jenny, lives in a beautiful old wisteria-covered house set in lovely grounds (including a lake and gardens). I had a huge and very comfortable room, more of a suite really, with gorgeous views of the Merevale Estate. Jenny is lovely, and was kind enough to make me a full cooked breakfast at 7 am. I was travelling for work, but this stay was a total pleasure!
I personally like firm mattresses, and the one in my room was quite soft - but that’s just personal preference.

Amazing bed and bedding helped us sleep very well. Breakfast was another amazing pleasure. The history around the area is very interesting i'm no historian but the information supplied by the landlady was incredibly interesting. There were also plenty of quality towels where you normally only get one. The view from our room was a surprise. Across green fields and a picturesque lake there was a historic mansion, an older church and the house was on the site of a historic abbey destroyed in ancient times We would definitely stay here again.
There were certain items that were limited which I found strange. For example there was only one toilet roll for two people over two nights. This just left me uncomfortable as it may have required us to request another roll which would be embarrassing.

Jenny was very happy, friendly and chatted as if we had been friends for years. Her cooked breakfast was very good and plenty. The bedroom was very large as was the comfortable bed. The bathroom was also huge but a little dated. Lots of history to the farm, situated in a lovely grounds with large pond and bird life.
A couple of small window pains in the bedroom were in need of repair which made it a bit drafty . However the curtains were very heavy with thick lining so helped to stop the draft. Milk for tea/coffee in the room was in a jug on the tray and not able to be kept cold if not used till evening time. Shower was very hot but not at all powerful.

The location worked really well for me as I was attending a show at the NEC. It was about 30 mins away. The host was lovely, as were the breakfasts. Bed was also very comfortable.
The bathroom is a bit dated. The light above the sink didn’t work which meant it was a bit dark for shaving. The shower also isn’t very powerful, as others have observed.

Beautiful old farmhouse in a stunning, tranquil setting. very large room with large comfortable bed along with a comfortable armchair, where I enjoyed watching YouTube on the internet equipped tv. There is no light pollution, so blackout curtains are not needed when it’s time to sleep. Sole use private bathroom just outside the bedroom door, equipped with a bath and very large shower enclosure fitted with a lovely hot and powerful shower unit. I met Jen, Bill and one of the sons, Alex, who are the most friendly, welcoming hosts. The full English breakfast was great, with quality, tasty sausages and bacon, served with my own pot of tea and jug of orange juice. There isn’t a buffet style continental breakfast but if you didn’t want a splendid cooked one, I’m sure Jen would accommodate you without issue. The bedroom has a central heating radiator but as the room is a very good size and the temperature went into minus figures the night I stayed, an extra, portable radiator was brought to my room, without request, incase it was needed. When I next need to stay in the area, I won’t be looking for anywhere, I just hope Abbey Farm will have availability.

The hosts were wonderful-they couldn’t have been more welcoming. The bed was very comfy and the breakfast was great.
Nothing-it was all great. We weren’t expecting it to be part of a family home, although this was probably just not reading the detail carefully enough, and it actually contributed to the welcoming feel. If I had the tiniest negative, it would be being asked to take our shoes off to go upstairs. I appreciate the carpets were new and that lots of people do this in their home, but we don’t so it felt a bit odd for somewhere we’ve paid to stay.

Location was lovely. Hosts were very friendly, even gave us a lift to the local pub to meet our friends.
Choice at breakfast, and lack of information. We asked for an early breakfast as we had to meet friends, but the service was quite slow, and we weren’t given any options such as fruit or cereal. We were left completely in the dark with no menu, we were just brought a full English…….It was a lovely cooked breakfast, but we would have liked more information and other choices. The bathroom was separate from the bedroom, which wasn’t really a problem, but there was no shower gel, and not even any soap to wash your hands with by the basin.
