The breakfast was excellent and the fine view from the widow tables of the cathedral was good. All of the staff were most friendly and the waiting staff particularly helpful. We had a lovely quite room and were not disturbed by any other guests.

The lights by the bed could have been a little brighter to help make reading easier. Although the Dinners we had were good I would have liked more traditional vegetables served with the meal.

location was perfect for the places we wanted to visit, eg cathedral and castle. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially on the one occasion when the lift failed to work. Breakfasts were really good, and there was an excellent choice of healthy and not so healthy. Room kept clean and tidy everyday.

My only fault was that we paid for balcony that we could not really use eg no chairs. There were 3 wedding parties during our stay where with one of them there was an altercation with two of the guests where vulgar language was used. I found this a little disrespectful and had to move from the balcony and close the door. Other small things like no bedside sockets and would have liked a walk in shower.

The black out curtains were fantastic. Access to the garden was wonderful. The garden view rooms are a little peaceful sanctuary. Bed extremely comfortable. Nice coffees and hot chocolates. Lovely room. Full size iron and ironing board. Lots of coat hangers. Hotel in general breakfast was good, generally a great hotel we have returned to 5 times now.

Shower took a little while to warm up and wasn't the strongest. Room could use a little TLC.

Excellent location. Loved the convenience of having onsite car parking that was easy to get in and out of. I’ve stayed at a few places that have tiny car parks that are impossible to use. It’s at the top of the hill, so if you just want to see the cathedral and castle it’s very easy to get to.

Nothing, it’s a great place to stay if you’re in Lincoln.

The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good.

The hotel seemed a bit tired in places, in the corridors in particular.

Outstanding feature for us was location - literally opposite the cathedral we wished to attend for the Christmas Eve service. Eating out on Christmas Day evening could have been difficult, with virtually all restaurants and pubs closed, but very convenient and pleasantly informal meal service was available in the bar, run by a typically enthusiastic member of the hotel staff (sorry - have forgotten his name, but he was great!). Altogether a most enjoyable and memorable stay - and a special thank you for the assistance given by all staff to my disabled partner.

Wanted a quick break from narrowboat life so looked for a room with a bath, bliss. The Lincoln Hotel was perfect. The staff at reception, restaurant and bedroom staff were outstanding, pleasant and helpful, a credit to the company. The breakfast was exceptional. Huge variety with choices to suit every possible dietary requirement. The quality of food was first rate and the restaurant manager was extremely helpful without going over the top. I should point out that the breakfast was of the buffet style variety with extra items, smoked haddock, poached eggs etc prepared on request. All in all an outstanding experience. Many thanks to all.

The only thing we didn't like was only being able to stay for one night, but be assured we will most certainly return.... And the sooner the better.

Comfortable bed and room. Nice outlook. Breakfasts good. Had meal one night which was good. The Staff were all very pleasant. Being right next to the Cathedral and older part of city a big bonus. Also the £7 charge for 3 nights parking in their car park was excellent. Sitting in the having breakfast looking out over to the cathedral was very pleasant.

Our room needed a little updating. Peraphs a shower screen on bath instead of shower curtain. The room was very comfy though. Think overall there were certain parts of the hotel that needed updating stair carpets etc, but it didnt detract from the pleasant ambience of the hotel. For the price paid it was good value.

Good city centre hotel in a fantastic location right opposite the cathedral and only a few minutes walk to the centre of Lincoln. It has a large carpark so we were able to leave the car there all weekend. The hotel itself could probably do with a spruce up as parts of it look tired, but it's very clean and the staff are so helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great, plenty of choice with a hot buffet style, cereals, fruit, yoghurts, pastries etc. Our room was plenty large enough (standard double) with chairs, dressing table, plenty of storage and equipped with hairdryer, iron/ironing board and drinks making facilities. It was also very clean.

Apart from the hotel looking a little a tired, the mattress in our room was very uncomfortable and the shower only got to luke warm at best.

The hotel must have been built in 60/70s and has that retro look about it. However, it's been well looked after and has clearly been updated and renovated. I don't think they really went in for charm when building hotels in those days but it does have a nice feel about it. The location is close enough to what's going on but remains quiet and peaceful. It looks over the Cathedral and is just a short walk from the shops, bars and restaurants at the top of Steep Hill. The room was great, no problems and everything worked well. Breakfast was a very good buffet with pretty much everything we needed, and the staff were always helpful and attentive. The whole stay felt comfortable and relaxed.

Everything worked well, and the hotel was cosy and warm so no complaints. However, either a faster machine, or another one, would certainly help with the queue for coffee at the buffet. If that's the worst thing that we found though, it's not so bad is it?
