Friendly and welcoming staff throughout the hotel - from Reception, Spa, Housekeeping, Restaurant - everyone had a smile and were happy to assist. Excellent level of cleanliness. Thank you all! I had a very enjoyable stay. Location is perfect, just a short walk to centre. Highly recommended for a comfortable base to explore Munnar.

We liked the location, the service from the staff, the excellent restaurant with buffet options for breakfast, and mostly ala carte for other meals. The toilets are particularly clean and functional even though it lacks natural light. We had an ambience room with windows on two sides

The rooms are rather small, but that in itself would not have been a problem had the wall on one side not looked marked and somewhat tatty. The pillows were too bulky, and we would suggest they offer pillows of different heights to suit all tastes and body dispositions. The lighting in the room could also be a little more imaginative. Over all, the rooms need some freshening up. The foyer furniture also need some refurbishment

I had a fantastic stay at Grand Plaza Munnar. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the room was clean and comfortable with stunning views. The food was delicious, especially the breakfast buffet. The hotel's facilities, including the spa, were excellent. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing and memorable stay in Munnar.

This hotel is a very good choice for Munnar. It's just outside the centre of town so you avoid the noise and terrible air pollution. The bus station is a 5 minute walk away. A tuktuk to the centre cost 50p. The staff here are helpful, cheerful and friendly and we enjoyed the free, daily cooking demonstration. Ask for a corner room at the back, overlooking the river, these rooms have better natural light and a small balcony. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the food is good. Toast, eggs and cereals available if you prefer a Western-style breakfast.The hotel has an excellent laundry service, which wasn't advertised, but you just have to ask. Laundry was returned the same day. Rooms were cleaned daily, on request.

Nothing, except being woken early, by what we thought was a person whistling really loudly outside. We couldn't work out who was being so inconsiderate. Turned out to be a Malabar Whistling Thrush!

We had a lovely stay at Grand Plaza. The staff are all very helpful and friendly especially in the restaurant. We ate in the restaurant for three nights and each evening the head waiter asked how spicy we wanted our food and each evening it was perfect. The room was a little tired but everything worked and was a very quiet location overlooking the river. The bed was very comfortable and we liked having a kettle to make our tea. The hotel is situated in Old Munnar but there are plenty of Tuk tuk to get us around when we needed. Overall a very nice stay and we would stay there again

The location is very good, close to facilities like shops and restaurants. You can walk to the centre (a local market). It is also close to a river and green view. The staff were helpful. They arranged me a tour taxi at a rate better than which offered outside the hotel.

The room is a bit old. You cannot open the balcony door without opening the room main door first. The room main door is unlocked using a key. The lights are switched on using a card. The card and the key are tied together; if you pull the card so that you can use the key to unlock the door, the lights go off. The toilets lights and exhaust fan work together, so as long as lights are on, exhaust fan is on, which, I noticed, brings up bad smell within the toilets. The balcony is cramped, not comfortable to sit on, and it has no chair.

Grand Plaza is a great property in the heart of Munnar. Staff all around were professional , helpful and welcoming. When we had a situation with our allocated room, they readily swapped us out for a family suite and made our experience even better . We were a party of 4 adults and 2 kids and all of us enjoyed the relaxing stay at Grand Plaza. Key highlights of the trip were the ease of access to all attractions, market, spice farms and the natural beauty. Breakfast buffet( Sharon and team), room service ( Mahalakshmi)and dinner and lunch were also excellent with lots of vegetarian options Highly also recommend the Brahma Spa for traditional massages. They accommodated us for a late evening treatment that went couple minutes beyond their closure time. Sowmya, our travel concierge, was truly one of a kind. Knowledgeable about the local area, she helped us with transportation and ensured our stay was comfortable all around!

We, wife and I, particularly liked the location, tucked away at the end of a side road, well off the main road, with glorious views towards the south with greenery and forested hillsides. The buffet breakfast and dinner were really good with a pleasing variety. A special thank you to Mr. Dayal, who responded positively to change the room 205 initially allotted which had an unpleasant view to Room 212 facing the opposite direction with glorious views. Dayal was ever responsive and helped make our brief stay more enjoyable. We also were very pleased with the choice of TV channels available, which included western movies, most of the popular english news channels, Nat Geo, Discovery, etc.,

We definitely did not like Room 205 with a distasteful view into the private terrace of a next door building. Fortunately our request for a change of room with a better view was accepted by Mr. Dayal. Also, the Elegance Rooms, which are advertised as being 252 sq ft in area, are significantly smaller at only about 160 sq ft, and therefore a bit claustrophobic and, resultantly, less value for the tarrif being charged. Finally, the toilet seat in the bathroom of Room 212 was out of alignment and uncomfortable to use. We did not complain about this as were staying for just 2 nights, and were relieved to get this Room with a better view after Room 205 opposite was unsuitable.
